Thirty Three

Numerous times I dabbed the tears from my eyes as my hands trembled trying to call my Aunt Beatrice’s number. But it ended in the voice mail.

Earlier I was wandering around the living room, and I barely knew what to do. I want to go to the airport today and return to the Philippines to see how she is.

“You need to sit down, Queenie. I called my staff there to check on your Aunt's condition.”

“I can't! I want to know how she is and what happened. Why the house burned, and why she's unconscious with so much blood lost,” I growled and took a deep breath. “Is she ok? What if she's not? What if she's — I don't know what to think.”

And I was stunned when Zech wrapped his arms behind my back. “She’ll be fine, and we will know the truth behind the accident. You are starting to get hysterical.”

"What will I do? Just chillax? She's my friend's mother, and she's important to me. I didn’t know what I would do when I lost her. I don't want to lose anyone, Zech,” I reasoned with my blurred eyes. "
