Twenty One

"We need to talk," he said as he got closer, "Is it okay, Celine, for me to take my fiancee temporarily first?" He turned his gaze to his cousin, who just nodded in response.

I stood upon the seat, and I smiled at Celine; I wrapped my right arm in Zech as he leadeth me in the doorway of the room.

"What's up?" I whispered to him as we walked away. The direction we were headed was to the exit of the restaurant.

His face remained serious, and he glanced at me. "The one who kidnapped you got away from his prison." His voice was weak, but it was strong enough for me. My heart skipped; did I hear right?

"Really?" I don’t want to believe what he told me because two days ago he told me, assuring me that the man could not escape the prison. The Italian police stated it to me also, but how then does it turn out like this?

No answer came from him, so that means the news he told me was true. "How did that happen?" I sneered, clutching his arm tightly, but he did not react.
