"It's so nice to have everyone here." Dad released a throaty laugh.

"Isn't it?" Aiden snickered in reply.

"So, Alfred, how's the company doing?" Mom asked, turning to look at me.

"Good," I mumbled, picking up my fork.

"Is something wrong?" She asked softly.

"I'm fine,"

"If you messed something up in the company, you had better talk now rather than sulk like a teenager," Aiden retorted.

"We are used to cleaning your mess anyways," He added, scoffing quietly.

My grip on the fork tightened as I looked up at him boredly.

"Pained much, brother?"

He rolled his eyes.

"I'd spend my time doing something better,"

"Good gracious, you both don't start tonight," Mom exclaimed, and I rolled my eyes, returning my gaze to the food I had barely touched.

Arielle nudged me, and I spared her a glance.

"Hey, are you good?" She whispered.

I forced a smile, nodding my head. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion, but she nodded, probably deciding not to push it.
