THE SOLDIER returned from battle and told the news to Chloe who was sitting on the chair with no emotions shown on her face. She was silent and so is everything and everybody around her. She returned to her house and when she heard the news, the soldier was afraid of what her reaction might be. Instead, she was just listening. "Is that it?" she questioned while eyeing the soldier up and down and he nodded as he held his shoulder. He was bleeding profusely. "Y-yes, ma'am. Ms. Eva has decided to flee with them," he answered while his head bowed down. "Then why didn't you stop them?" Her eyebrows raised before drinking another glass of red wine. The man gulped and nervousness crept in. "They outnumbered me," he answered honestly and her lips raised. "You should've died in battle than return empty-handed," she said before putting the wine glass down. Grabbing a button from her drawer, she pointed it to the man. He went to his knees and pleaded to let him live. "Please, let me
Dianne decided not to come with Kronos returning home but instead, decided to walk by herself to get her mind off things. Her feelings are valid, she doesn't want to have the same pain as before. But Kronos made a point when he said, "But you'll regret not spending time with him when he's dead! He'll die with the memory of his daughter hating him and you'll live by the memory of neglecting to spend time with your father!" His point is stuck inside her mind. She breathed heavily before sighing. The cold wind is sending shivers down her spine as she walks with only a dress on. The night was turning darker which didn't help her. It was turning freezing cold but as stubborn as she is, she continued walking. Snow season is coming back again which she enjoyed when she was younger but it turned out to be a pain in the ass after growing out of that phase. She stopped when she saw white snow coming from above. She admired it and stayed there for a few minutes while hugging herself.
IN ONE of the syndicate offices, Kronos was in front of his father but his mind was out of the situation. He needed to focus yet his mind was focused elsewhere. He was worried for her, she wasn't picking up any of his calls. "Do you understand?" His father asked and he looked up with a confused look. He tried remembering what he had said. "Yes," he simply uttered without knowledge of what it was. "When will you be able to marry her?" His focus suddenly turned to his father after what he had mentioned. "I'm unsure." He looked at the time before standing up to leave, not wanting to continue the conversation anymore. He walked to the door before his father uttered, "Are you catching feelings for her?" He clenched his jaw before smiling to himself and nodding slightly. His father smiled before walking up to him and patting his son's back. "That's better. It'll be better for our family and your happiness." His father's words were daggers through his heart. This was the first time he wa
The cold air hugged Dianne as she sat outside the cabin while enjoying a hot cup of chocolate drink in hand. She let out a sigh that looked like a misty cloud coming out of her mouth. What happened earlier kept replaying inside her mind and the cold air had no match with the heat of her body. She felt his hand pulling the end of her sleeves and she laughed. "Stop it–" She turned to her side and fear was evident upon seeing who it was– or what it was. She gulped before looking around the place without moving her head. Silvester is inside and if she calls him, it might attack. Her eyes landed on the things around her. Rocks, large pieces of wood, and some leftover beef. She stayed calm before looking at the thing pulling her coat. It was a big mouth with large teeth that belonged to a wolf, and she wasn't sure if it was alone. It held onto her coat while staring at her with a vicious stare. What she saw by the window was no human stalking them. She slowly extended her left arm
"Please, let's just go home–" But they were adamant to question her. She cursed under her breath before closing her eyes."You kissed me all of a sudden! I didn't agree to it," she reverted the blame to the man who kissed her but he scoffed. "You kissed back," he retorted. "I did not!" She breathed heavily as she angrily looked at him. Silvester could only hold back the fist he clenched from punching his brother. The three of them are in the freezing weather yet none moved an inch. "Let's go." Silvester grabbed her hand yet his brother was being stubborn and stopped them. "She's coming home with me," he uttered in determination. The two men argue with one another as Dianne's left hand is held by Silvester while her hand is held by his brother. She was staring into oblivion, tired and annoyed by this. "Enough!" she screamed before pulling her hands away. The two of them stopped with their nonsense and stared at her. She sighed before stomping her way to Silvester's car and getting
She opened her car door before grabbing a gun from the hidden drawers before closing it back again. The presence of the person stalking her can be felt by her. The night was ominous while she tried finding a shovel nearby. The person was still following her. She was being cautious with her moves while the gun was hidden from anyone's sight. She heavily sighed before moving forward and stopping in her tracks. She pulled out her phone and called Silvester. He said his greetings but she pretended to have a different conversation. "Yeah, I'm alone. My car is stuck so I have no way of leaving," she uttered before kicking a pebble away."What?" He was confused."I might have to walk for a while. Yeah," she murmured with a disappointed voice before putting the phone back in her pocket as she started walking. At least if something does happen, a recording will be there as evidence. The long shadows of the cars around her while the feeling of the cold wind and snow was making her tremble bu
THREE IN the morning, Dianne suddenly woke up from her bed with sweat running down her neck. Her breathing was ragged and it still felt like she was dreaming. Her vision was woozy as if she had just ridden a rollercoaster. She held her head before looking around the room and checking the time. She groaned in frustration before covering herself in blankets from the cold. Silvester returned her to her home once they were done with their… 'date' as one can call it. She fell asleep immediately though nightmares consumed her throughout the night. Chloe has been living rent-free inside her mind and it gives countless jumpscares in her dreams. Not only is she a nuisance in real life, but also in dreams. Dianne fell back asleep and woke up at around nine. She yawned loudly before looking for her car keys. She felt so tired yet had to go to work and deal with, well, finding a new assistant. With no idea how to fix her relationship with her friend, there's no choice but to find a different
THE DAY was as bright as the sun. The heat was almost unbearable to handle yet Dianne was sitting comfortably on her chair inside her office. While her mood is the opposite, she felt gloomy and dull compared to the weather. The sudden knock on her door distracted her from working. "Come in," she uttered before sighing. One of her employees came in with her head bowed. A bouquet of flowers was in front of her as she held it carefully as she brought it inside. "What's that?" Dianne asked as she eyed the flowers. "A man dropped this off earlier and told me to give it to you." Confusion filled her as she thought of Mr. Romano doing this. That man stopped messing with her but now came back when Chloe was out of power. "Throw it out." Her command stunned the woman but nodded her head. She was about to exit the room when Dianne received a message. "Wait." The woman stopped at her boss' command. "Hand it over," she murmured and her employee smiled before putting the bouquet on her desk.
