Alicia and Damon had made it inside the house and found the stairs leading into the basement. They’d heard the gunfight erupt outside but paid it no mind… Alicia knew her family could handle things from that end.

“Hey you,” a voice shouted.

“Damn!” Damon exclaimed and started to pull Alicia down the stairs with him. They reached the basement door and Damon almost threw her in before slamming the heavy door closed and locking it behind them.

“Damon, look out!” Alicia cried and Damon just barely got between Alicia and the two guards in the room in time.

He gritted his teeth against the searing pain of the bullets riddling his body. The guards had been posted in the basement and, when the gunshots started going off, they’d taken up positions, ready to kill anyone that came through the door.

Finally the bullets stopped coming and Damon smirked as the wolves started to back away while frantically trying to reload their weapons. Damon became a blur of movem
