2. Waist Not Chest

[An Hours Before the Tragedy]

Camilla checked her cell phone notifications to see if there were any incoming messages from her two friends.

"My goodness, where are they at, anyway?" grumbled the girl with both legs moving immobile. She also looked to the right and left, hoping Aldo and Aruna showed their noses.

Galleo, Camilla's younger brother, just rolled his eyes at his sister's behavior which was like a hot worm.

"How long are you going to walk around like a lost child like that?" he teased with an annoying sound.

Camilla glared at Galleo irritably. As usual, her young brother was annoying, too bad their parents sent Galleo to take her to the airport instead of the family.

"Could you be quiet, Galleo?" Camilla said with a tired face. "Yesterday, you said you have a lot to do today, but why are you still here?" she snapped fiercely like the eldest sister in general.

Galleo rubbed the back of his head while letting out rough breaths. "Never mind, bother, use all the nagging.”

“What did you say!” snapped Camilla, annoyed.

“Nothing!” concluded Galleo while turning his gaze in another direction, don’t want to keep looking at his sister's angry and annoyed face. Right when his head turned to three o'clock, his eyes immediately caught two human figures running around dragging their suitcases in the middle of the crowd.

"They here!" Galleo exclaimed, pointing to Camilla's two best friends who were none other than Aldo and Aruna.

Camilla immediately looked in the direction of Galleo's gaze and spontaneously smiled, relieved to see the arrival of the two people she had been waiting for the last hour.

“OMG, where have you two been? Don’t you know what time it is?" grumbled Camilla, pointing at the airport clock.

“Huff! We really apologize. Arraf chose the wrong route, instead, we were stuck in traffic." Aruna ducked out of breath resting on her knees because she had been running. Meanwhile, Aldo was also neutralizing his breath because he was dragging two suitcases of his and Aruna's.

Camilla peeked behind the two of them, looking for the figure of Arraf, Aruna's older brother. "Then where is Arraf?" Camilla asked the man that she had secretly admired for so long.

"Parking the car in the parking lot. He'll be back in a bit." This time it was Aldo who answered, still out of breath of course.

"Hmm, then, let's check in first. I don't want our names to be called many times.” Camila did not want to be embarrassed and caused an uproar at an airline because three passengers on the plane had not done their obligations.

"But, when we checked in, we couldn't wait for Arraf, he brought my stuff that was still in the car," protested Aruna.

“Oh my gosh. How much stuff do you have, Aruna?” an astonished Camilla looked at their luggage. There are two suitcases, black and pink. The black one is of course Aldo's and the pink one is definitely Aruna's.

Camilla saw that Aldo was also carrying two backpacks which he believed also belonged to them both. Meanwhile, Aruna was carrying her sling bag which seemed also solid and fully loaded.

“Have you brought three bags? What other bags are with Arraf?” concluded Camilla.

"You know, Aruna used to have more stuff than this," Aldo said, glancing at Aruna with a tired face.

Aruna wanted to defend herself but her intention was interrupted by a tall man who approached them.

"Aruna, here's your bag." That's Arraf, the one and only Aruna’s brother, he's taking up the profession of a psychologist. So handsome, the man became a campus idol in his era. Arraf handed the tote bag to Aruna, the color of course matched with Aruna's pink suitcase and backpack.

"My goodness, again?" Aldo shouted and glared at Aruna because he had not seen the item being lifted onto the car before leaving.

"My skincare. Sorry, I really can't leave my national treasure," Aruna added in an indifferent style.

Camilla just chuckled at them. As usual, the girl wanted to keep her attitude in front of Arraf even though the man already knew how barbaric and outgoing her character was.

Arraf glanced at his watch and worried they would be getting late to check in again. "It’s better to get in, now," he said.

The three prospective ex-college students nodded. Aruna said goodbye to Arraf, followed by Camilla and Aldo. Camilla's two best friends also had time to greet Galleo before finally the three of them were busy carrying their luggage to the check-in and weighing goods.

"Just be careful if we have excess baggage because of yours, Aruna," Camilla sneered.

"Relax, I have a lot of stuff but it's quite light," said Aruna calmly.

“Oh, look! Who didn't want to go to Brazil this quickly yesterday but in fact it turned out to be the heaviest suitcase,” Aldo chirped again, actually because the man was just exasperated and liked to annoy Aruna.

"It’s me, enough!" Aruna scolded, pouting her lips, letting Aldo load their suitcases and bags into the weighing machine while Camilla took care of their check-in.

Not long after, the three of them were already in the waiting room, fortunately, they still had ten minutes to wait for the boarding schedule.

So Camilla had time to go to the toilet first and wash her hands in the sink. Her smile expands, she can't hold it because today is the day! She will go on vacation to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A moment she had been waiting for went on vacation with her two best friends.

After tidying up a little of her hairdo with the strands of hair flowing beautifully on the bangs and temples, Camilla stepped out of the waiting room ladies' restroom.

When the girl came out, she immediately collided with a man who was dressed all in black.

“BRUUG!”

“Auch!” Camilla winced as her shoulder bumped against the man's body. She spontaneously looked up and saw the face of the man. The first thing that caught her eye was the tattoo on the man's neck that read 'Kairav'.

“Ahem!” cleared the man in a baritone tone, heavy and so low. The man also spontaneously put one hand on his hat, like he was hiding his face from everyone including Camilla.

Even though all that was visible was the silhouette of his face in the hallway leading to the toilet, Camilla could once again glance at the tattoo of 'Kairav' on the man's neck.

Before Camilla wanted to open her mouth to ask for an apology, the mysterious man instead immediately left Camilla by walking quickly into the men's room.

“What's wrong with him? Weirdo!" surprised Camilla snorted softly. She didn't pay attention anymore and continued towards the bench where her two friends sat in the waiting room.

Ten minutes later, Camilla, Aldo, and Aruna were already lining up to board the plane. This time, the passengers did not enter the plane using a trunk bridge, but went down to the airport grounds and stepped up using the plane stairs.

Like people who staycation in general, they often smile. Aldo didn't stop vlogging with his cellphone camera, Aruna clung to Aldo making sure that her face was recorded, meanwhile, Camilla occasionally appeared behind them.

When Camilla looked back, she realized that she was the last person in line to step up the stairs of the plane.

Just as Camilla took a step to catch up with her friends, Camilla suddenly felt a blunt object pressing her waist from behind.

Spontaneously, the girl stopped walking and looked back. She was so surprised when she found that the mysterious man who had hit her near the toilet earlier was already behind her.

“Ah!” Camilla shrieked softly as she put one hand to her mouth, she glanced down to see what was holding her waist.

How shocked Camilla Theodore was when she realized that a gun was being pointed at her waist by that mysterious man, the man on whose neck was vertically written 'Kairav'!
