ADRIAN

It's been days now since I'd last spoken to Lena. Since I've been forcing myself not to call, not to text, not to drive past her dorm just to catch a glimpse of her. She was better off this way—she was safer.

The whiskey glass sat untouched on my desk, the ice had long melted. My phone taunted me from where it lay face-up, the blank screen mocking my self-control. I couldn't—i just couldn't do that to her.

Then the phone rang.

Marco's name flashed across the screen. I swiped to answer. “This better be important.”

“Boss.” Marco's voice was tight. “We have a problem. Marcus is dead.”

I stilled. “What?”

“Our men found him in an alley near the docks. Two bullets to the back of the head. It was a clean job.”

My fingers tightened around the phone. Marcus—the weasel who'd been snapping photos of Lena for Evelyn. “When did you find out?”

“A couple hours ago. The cops haven't even found the body yet.”

I paced to the window, the city lights blurring as my mind raced. “You think Evely

LENAMy phone buzzed early in the morning with a voice message from Jeremy; “You better be awake. Lit class in forty-five minutes. Doyle's giving pop quizzes today.”I groaned into my pillow. The remnants of last night's dream— involving Adrian and me at a beach in Italy— still clung to the edges of my consciousness. Another text came through; “I'll buy you coffee if you're there in thirty minutes.”That got me moving.I hurried across campus and saw Jeremy as he leaned against the literature building's steps, two steaming cups in hand. “You're late,” he said, handing me the one with extra sugar— just how I liked it.“What do you mean? I'm on time!”“By your standards, maybe.” He bumped my shoulder as we walked in. “You look like a mess girl.”“Thanks,” I rolled my eyes, sipping the coffee. “You always know just what to say.”Doyle's class dragged like always, but having Jeremy beside me drawing an anime character—or what he thought was Naruto made it bearable. When the bell finally

EVELYNHis dazed gaze flicked to me as I peeled off my blouse, letting him see the full, heavy weight of my tits, my nipples already stiff and begging for attention.Luke didn't hesitate. His hands were on me the second I straddled him, his mouth latching onto a nipple with a hunger that sent a sharp thrill straight to my cunt.“Bite me,” I demanded, grinding down against his half-hard cock.He obeyed, his teeth scraping just enough to make me gasp.“Good boy. I'm glad you're listening and learning now.”I stood abruptly, leaving him panting on the bed. His eyes darkened as I hooked my thumbs into the waistband of my pants, peeling them down slowly. The scent of my arousal filled the air, and Luke's nostrils flared.“Come here,” I ordered, lifting one foot onto the mattress. He moved like a man possessed, his hands gripping my hips as he buried his face between my thighs. My fingers tangled in his hair, holding him exactly where I wanted him as his tongue delved deep.“Fuck me with th

EVELYNThe intercom buzzed sharply on my desk. “Ms. Grant, Professor Doyle is here to see you. He says it's urgent.”I didn't look up from my paperwork. “Tell him to make an appointment like everyone else.”The door opened anyway. Doyle stood there, that greasy smirk plastered across his face. “You'll want to hear this.”I set down my pen with deliberate slowness. “This better be good.”Doyle sauntered in without invitation, dropping into the chair across from me. “Knight just agreed to go to Berlin, I'm sure he has signed the paperwork as we speak.”The words settled over me like warm silk. Finally, after weeks of planning, of maneuvering, of dealing with incompetent fools like Marcus and Doyle— I finally have my victory.“Interesting,” I said, keeping my voice even. “And how do you think our dear Professor took the news?”“He looked like he'd swallowed broken glass.” Doyle chuckled. “I'm so sure that the man's practically packing his bags already.”I leaned back in my leather chair,

LENAThe door to Adrian's office slammed behind me hard enough to make it rattle. My hands shook as I stormed down the hallway, my nails digging half-moons into my palms. He couldn't even say anything to me. No explanation. No apology. Just that infuriatingly blank expression and different excuses.“Hey, trouble.”I nearly jumped out of my skin. Jeremy leaned against the wall by the exit, his hands shoved in his pockets. “You look like you're about to murder someone.”“You're still here?” I muttered. He pushed off the wall, falling into step beside me. “Yeah, I was worried.”“There’s no need to be, wanna get lunch?” I responded.“Yeah sure,” he smiled. “Lee, are you sure you're okay?”I nodded and walked to the cafeteria with him.Ava nearly choked on her soda when she saw us approaching. “Who's this?”“Jeremy,” I said, sliding into the booth. “We grew up together.”Mike's eyebrows shot up. “Childhood friends? How come we've never heard of you?”“Because someone,” I nudged his foo

ADRIANThe sight stopped me dead in my tracks. It was Lena laughing with some blond bastard that had his hands on her waist, leaning in too close as she tilted her head back, immediately, something primal snapped in my chest. My voice cut through their conversation before I could stop it. Lena stiffened instantly, those wide eyes flashing with surprise and something else—guilt? The boy had the audacity to smirk at me, like he had any right to stand there touching what was mine. I barely recognized the words coming out of my mouth. The command to meet me in my office left no room for argument. The boy—Jeremy, she'd called him—tried to interject with that casual arrogance only the young and stupid could muster.I didn't even look at him. My entire world had narrowed to the rapid pulse fluttering at Lena's throat, the way her lips parted in shock. I turned away before I did something unforgivable in front of half the student body. The walk to my office was a blur of white-knuckle
