Chapter Fifty-Seven

“Sir, can you please step out of the car?” The officer asked as she looked him over with a brow raised. 

“My hands seem to be cuffed to the steering wheel.” Digger mumbled in embarrassment. 

“Hang on, sir.” She said, stepping away and speaking into the walkie talkie on her shoulder. “This is officer Jones. I’m responding to the call about the suspicious car parked outside the elementary school. I’m going to need back up at Sycamore Lane.”

“What’s the situation?” The dispatcher asked. 

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” She said, trying not to laugh. “Just send back up.”

“What’s going on?
