Kane nodded his head in surprise at the woman’s words before he turned and began to lead Bridgette out of the abandoned warehouse. They left the briefcases in the care of the Special Agent and climbed back in the car. Kane didn’t start the car yet. Instead, he leaned the seat back a little and then reached across the console. He pulled Bridgette into his arms and just held her as she cried. After a few moments Bridgette had stopped crying and she rested her head on Kane’s shoulder.
