Our horses trotted down the gravel path leading directly into Sol. The Village was hardly a village at all. Few houses lined the way, and even fewer businesses followed. But Lir assured us that it wasn't as it appeared. Many living in the West had moved underground to protect themselves against the Vampire king's wrath. Only a few brave or wicked enough decided to remain.

But it wasn't just the Vampire king they feared. It was also the beasts that lived within the lands that had them hiding. Most beasts like the Wendigo we encountered resulted in a traumatic death. Only a fool would place themselves in a position to face them continuously.

We moved through the Village faster than expected, but we still had two days of trekking through the grounds before going to Vandran. And I wasn't looking forward to encountering any more
