Sally

I got home late and met Cisco sitting on the balcony; Pamela was sitting on his lap. She was equally flirting with him; they were both laughing so loud that the sound of their voice felt like needles in my ears.

It pained me so much to see them together. I still couldn't imagine that Cisco just threw away ten wonderful years of marriage. We even had three children!

He should have at least thought about how the girls would feel. I shook my head, ignoring them and went straight into my bedroom and to bed.

I'm still living in this house for revenge.

Revenge!

That's what's keeping me going.

The next day, I was in the kitchen with Iris, preparing breakfast. I was going to play the good wife with a hidden agenda. I was just in the mood for a little evil.

"Iris!" I called.

Iris dropped the carrot she was chewing on and ran over to me. "Yes, Mum?"

"Help me set the table " As much as I didn't want; to, I had to.

She gave me a weird look. "Mum, I'm sorry, but I can't set the table if that lady dad brought home will sit with us."

I sighed, ruffling her hair." Do you trust, mummy?"

She hesitated but then nodded.

" Good, set the table."

She grumbled but eventually did as I said. I heard adding certain stuff to cooked food can cause some incredible discomfort if consumed.

I mixed the powder in the sauce; it was tasteless but could send you halfway to heaven through the toilet.

Iris came back to the kitchen after setting the table." Don't eat anything here, I'm ordering food for us in a few minutes."

She furrowed her brows, her eyes glued to my hand sprinkling powder over the sauce." Please tell me you're poisoning that woman." She gasped.

I chuckled." Not poison but close enough."

The table was set and as shameless as they were, they came down to eat.

They kept feeding each other, kissing and laughing all the while eating my food.

Idiots.

Iris and I exchanged looks and she giggled. Did I mention that my daughters and I were the perfect duo?

We continued eating our separate food like nothing was happening.

Francisco hasn't said a word to me ever since. It was like we were strangers. He just cast me aside like I was trash. And I would cast him aside, recycle him and then cast him aside again.

I finished eating and retired to my room. I had made up my mind not to go to work until Monday, I did not want to be in the headlines. At least I'll let things subside a little before showing my face in public.

I waited for hours, but sleep refused to take me; I was still battling to find sleep when I heard a knock on my door. I got up slowly to open the door and was shocked at who I saw. The only bitch in the house was standing at my door.

"What..do..you.. want?" I snapped. If only I could strangle her right now.

"Ummm....I just wanted to talk to you". Her voice sounded rather low.

" About what huh? How you stole my husband?" I spat disgusted.

" Noo..... I don't want this either". Pam said. " I know you think I stole your husband, but believe me I don't want this marriage."

I just stared at her like I had seen a ghost. How would she explain the nasty smirk on her face during the wedding?

"I know Francisco is very rich, and even if I am not in my right senses, I would never want to be a second wife, not even for money". She continued.

I stared at Pamela's face for a long moment, disbelief written on my face.

I wanted to laugh.

I laughed.

Did this woman think I would fall for her cheap tricks after all the flirting she had engaged in with my husband?

It was So unbelievable how this woman was trying to redeem herself after agreeing to marry a man who already had a family.

I scoffed." Get out of my face. "I said, feeling irritated.

She trembled, her eyes brimming with tears." I was forced to, " Pam said, lowering her face.

I paused and then burst out laughing."What? Cisco forced you to marry him.

?"I said sarcastically.

" He wasn't the only one; my parents forced me; I had no choice," Pam said as her voice cracked.

I paused for a moment. "I don't understand." I could not tell if Pam was lying or not, but She looked sincere.

" They didn't give me a chance to speak for myself, all they said was that I had to." She began sobbing.

I only stared at her. What the hell was I supposed to say?

Pam only stared at me with tear-filled eyes." I need your help, Sally." She said grabbing hold of my hand and squeezing it softly. " I'm supposed to be getting married next month."

I went speechless after hearing what she said. This whole story was getting suspicious by the minute.

I yanked my hand away from her grip. " You should be asking him for help, not me; I don't want to get dragged into your problems." I replied with a blank expression. I was not ready to believe someone I just met but then I just went with the flow.

She wouldn't lie about her wedding which was even next month, right?

Right?

She fidgeted with her dress." Please I'm begging you, I'll tell you everything I know, just help me get out of here."

I creased my brows."Tell me what? Start speaking now if you want my help."

Exhaling deeply she spoke." Don't get mad if you see me flirting with him. It's all an act.I just have to pretend so that he would not notice anything."

I pretended not to care ." just don't do it too much, it's annoying."

Pamela nodded almost immediately. I gave her a quick smile and we both stood there staring at each other. Pamela, on the other hand, just kept smiling like an idiot, I had to look anywhere else but her to stop herself from throwing up.

"Why don't you sneak out of the house and elope with your fiancee and never come back....how does that sound, huh?" I hoped she would agree to my plan immediately but Pamela only gave me a bitter smile.

" My fiancee is in Africa and he doesn't have any idea that I am here in England."She shrugged.

"Then how did you get here? In fact, how did you meet my husband."I suddenly wanted to know.

" Cisco brought me here. I tried running away, but he sent people after me. I even gave an excuse that I didn't have money to pay for my flight, but he insisted he'd pay for me. He even came to Africa to make sure I entered the plane ".Pam explained.

A frown appears on my face." Wait! When did this happen?"

" Umm...two weeks ago, I guess. " Pam replied.

I scoffed, biting down on my lower lip. I was already fuming as I put the pieces together. I remembered clearly what happened two weeks ago.

Cisco had told me that he was going to Africa, Nigeria, particularly for a business meeting to represent me since I was the CEO. I had insisted on going with him, but he bluntly refused, saying that it was an emergency meeting and he didn't want me to get stressed.

I had felt uneasy about him going, but I shoved it aside; Cisco returned from his so-called business meeting, but this time, he didn't return with paperwork or documents but with her. That's the only reasonable explanation I could think of.

" He lied to me !" I clutched my hair. I should have known all along. His sudden change of behaviour towards me and our girls. The distant looks in his eyes gave him away but I was too stupid to notice that something was wrong.

I wanted an explanation for all he had done ." He'll explain everything to me right now. "Without thinking, I started walking towards Cisco's room when Pamela pulled her back.

" You can't, he doesn't know I'm talking to you about this." She whispered.

I stopped in my tracks, my chest heaving up and down. I was so confused right now, my Brian was so foggy.

In summary, Cisco abducted Pamela and forced her to marry him when he already had a wife.

But Why?

Why did he do that?

Sally I placed both hands on her shoulder. Her face was finally rid of makeup and now back to her natural state. " What have I always told you ?" Her shoulder slumped, but the next moment, the determination was back in her eyes ." Make a name for myself and people will fall at my feet. " I smiled and winked at her. "People, including Levi." She blushed a little and wrapped her hands around me. I returned the gesture and hugged her back. "Thanks, Mum. I think that's what I wanted to hear ." She whispered in my ears. "Your dress is pretty by the way." I chuckled. Immediately she jumped up and twirled. " I think I'll be in the spotlight today." She giggled. I threw the used wipes into the trash can as we both walked downstairs." the spotlight is meant for the bride and groom and that's certainly not you." She shrugged."I guess I'll have to create my spotlight." We both laughed until we got to the car. We wasted a lot of time and missed the church service. Now, we only had t

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 80 Epilogue

Sally This was the hundredth time I had sighed today. I was waiting impatiently for my so-called daughters and Davi to get out of the house and get in the car. We were on our way to Stevens's wedding, and by the looks of things, we might get there when the reception was over. Four years had passed since my dad died and since Pamela was sent to the asylum. Yes, she had gone insane. And she got worse every single day. Steven had finally decided to move on and settle down, and now he was getting married to a very nice, bubbly woman. Haven was her name; she was a widow with a twelve-year-old daughter, Zoey. She was a great woman and took Levi as her own son. The nice little family was finally complete. Steven was actually glad that his wedding with Pamela didn't come through. That was actually a sign that they were not meant for each other. So now, Levi had a better person to call Mom. Cisco got tired of waiting for us so he took another car and left. He was S

SallyI shifted closer to him and took in more of his scent. "Are you still not going to open it ?" He spoke just when I was about to drift into sleep.I knew what he was talking about. I opened my eyes, and my line of sight landed on the envelope on the bedside table. I had told him about the envelope after Dad died. I couldn't bring myself to open it after his funeral. I got up and grabbed the envelope. If I didn't do it now then it was never. "Do you want me to go .....I could just .." He insisted. "No, it's fine. I'm going to read it out loud anyway." Taking a deep breath, I opened it and began reading. My sweetheart, I should probably be dead by now. I asked Uncle Taze to give you this after my will has been read, so if you are reading this, then it means that I must have passed away. I'm writing from my hospital bed, I know that I'll get better. But if I don't then I want you to have this. I've not been a good mother to you, and I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 78

Sally Dad's funeral went well. There were a lot of people and it was even broadcast on the news. I never expected to see that many people; that only proved how popular my dad was. I received hundreds of messages and letters, some from people I didn't even know. In all, it was comforting and I really appreciated their effort. My dad left a will, he gave each of the girls separate businesses. And they were to take over when they turned eighteen. As his only child and heir, I took over the remaining corporation. Cisco became president and I, the president's wife and owner of our group. I stood on the balcony watching Cisco and our girls play under the cherry tree. Winter was drawing near so the ground was partially covered in snow. Cisco said that in a few days from now, it would be too freezing to go outside, so they wanted to enjoy the time they had left. I was glad because ever since my dad died, he had managed to make us smile. Nora and Mia were r

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 77

SallyI don't know what was wrong with me. It wasn't like I wasn't aware that he cheated. It had been months since he married Pamela, almost a year even. I thought that I had gotten over it, even after he apologized. I had forgiven him...I told myself that I would let go and start over. But since my dad died, I have felt nothing but emptiness, pain and rage. I started having thoughts of just taking my children and leaving him. Letting go suddenly felt so painful and hard. I knew that I was still grieving, and maybe that was why I was feeling this way. But after hearing those things from Pamela, it opened up a fresh wound in my chest. I told myself not to let her get to me; this was what she wanted, but I just couldn't.It hurt; it hurt a lot. Other women would have divorced him no matter the situation, but why can't I just be like them and not think twice about divorcing him? Was I too stupid and blinded by my love Do I even still love him or was I doing this to s

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 76

SallyTwo weeks later, I watched as Pamela was brought to me in chains. She was chained from her hands to her legs which indicated that she was a chronic murderer. She had been sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour, While her minions were sentenced to life imprisonment as well. What could I say, her new status befitted her. Cisco had been against my coming here. He said she already got what she deserved so there was no need for me to see her. I knew he did not want us to fight like we did when they were getting divorced. We didn't actually fight, I beat her up because she refused to sign the papers. She literally did not want to sign the divorce papers, claiming that she was being treated unfairly. It was so not like me to beat someone up; it was against my principles. I didn't even know I had the guts to beat a fellow woman up. Cisco, on the other hand, did nothing to stop me, mostly because he would receive all the blows instead of her,

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 75

Sally I opened my eyes to a white ceiling. I looked around, everywhere was white. I was in a hospital. I remembered having a very bad dream. It was a dream where my dad and Iris were shot. Shot by Pamela. Yes! It was just a dream. He would come in anytime soon to check up on me. I was sure about that. "Sally, how are you feeling?" I heard a voice. It was Cisco. He helped me sit up properly, my head was throbbing hard. The first thing I did was look around." Iris! where's Iris and Dad?" I asked. Just then, Mia and Nora came through the door, with Liz following behind. "Mummy!" Mia screamed and hugged me. She burst out crying and started mumbling to herself. My chest was aching as tears started rolling down my cheeks. I turned to Cisco. " Where's my father ?" He didn't respond, he only looked down. Liz came to my side and hugged me. " I'm sorry Sally ....he's gone.""No.."My tears flowed like a stream. So it wasn't a dream, I watched as my dad died inside the ambulanc

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 74

Sally Stephen came to meet me at my home two days back. He came back the same day he left, he said he went to see Cisco in jail. He made a confession. I was angry, so angry that all this while he had a solution to my problem. He had a way to get Cisco out of jail but he kept it to himself. He had evidence against Pamela, but he remained silent, and worse, he was there. He was there the day my mother died, and he watched what happened, yet he didn't bother to speak up. He offered to make it up to me by giving the evidence to the police and testifying against her, but still, it didn't satisfy me. Of course, Pamela would spend the rest of her life in prison, but knowing that Steven had broken the little trust I had in him made me feel even worse. I tried to understand him but I just couldn't. So here we were, hoping Pamela would show up and then we'll get her arrested. I looked at my dad. He also didn't know what was happening. I didn't want to involv

  • Dark Twists    Chapter 73

Francisco Sally kept adjusting her rumpled clothes and applying make-up on her face. "Does my hair look good ?" She asked, worried.I laughed. " There's nothing wrong with your hair. It's perfect."She faced the mirror, smoothing out her dress with her hands." Does my dress look too rumpled?" I rolled my eyes again." You look perfect." I said, hoping that she would stop fidgeting. She was unknowingly making it obvious that we had done a bit of exercise before everyone else came. She finally accepted her look and we left the bedroom. Everyone else had arrived, and in a few minutes, we would begin. True to her words, Pamela came. She had a smug look on her face as she stepped into the living room, shoulders and chin high. She was expensively dressed, and the money she stole was used to buy every single price of clothing and jewellery on her. We were seated around the long table. Sally was right beside me, Nora was sitting on my lap, and Iris and Mia were seated at my other sid
