6. Unexpected meet!

Author's POV

Veronica looked at the mirror and fixed her long satin silver gown which has deep neck and it's designed like it will push up her breasts and will give her very sexy look. Long slit which was displaying her tempting long leg and she was wearing thigh chain which was adding stars to her sexy look.

She has curled her long hair and finished her look with high heels. She was looking hot in that dress and nude makeup. 

Veronica usually don't take efforts to look this good but today she wants to flaunt her beautiful body and confidence to show people that she is more than a nerd doctor. She feels that she was ignoring herself all these years to fake good wife and with all stress. She wants to leave carefree now. 

Of course she was hoping for her relationship recovery but she changed her mind when she saw Mila with Zen. She realized that this man can't change and she doesn't want to waste her life on him, neither she wants to ruin her self respect.

She has decided that no man deserve her attention neither she is ready to go through all that love and trust process all again. Zen has broken that courage in her, she is emotionally exhausted to devote her emotions to anyone else.

She put on a forced smile on her face and embraced herself for fake relationship. She grabbed her clutch from the vanity table and walked out towards the hall. 

Zen and Mila came out at the same time. Veronica stopped in front of them and Zen's eyebrows furrowed looking at Veronica's sexy form. He was impressed by her look. 

Mila elbowed him when she saw that he is drooling over her. 

He hissed and cleared his throat. 

"Dad is already there..."

He said.

"I know! He called me..."

Veronica replied looking at Mila who was wearing green gown which was looking beautiful on her fair skin.

Mila smiled at Veronica.

"I hope you don't mind if I join you guys for the party... Actually, I am bored and__"

Veronica decided to ignore her.

"We are late"

She looked at Zen and walked out. 

Zen sighed and led both women towards his car. 

Veronica opened the door for herself and sat on the front seat making Mila look at her with frown, of course she wanted to sit with Zen. 

Veronica fake smiled at Mila who was frowning at her.

"His father is waiting for us there... He won't like if other woman comes out from first seat..."

"She is right, Mila... Please sit in the back..."

Zen requested and opened the door for her. He helped her to sit inside and Veronica looked out of the window when he kissed her. 

The ride was silent. She was lost in her thoughts which were invaded by memories of that man. He didn't leave her mind for the whole week. She was thinking about him now and then. 

His grey eyes, thin lips and that intense look. The way his body flexed with every move. She can recall everything. 

Some nights she found herself wet while dreaming about him. 

"We have reached"

She was snapped out of her thoughts by Zen when he snapped his fingers in front of her. 

Veronica blinked her eyes and looked out towards the venue. She nodded and was about to open the door but he stopped her.

"Let me open it"

Veronica rolled her eyes.

"Fake drama begins"

She glared at Mila when she laughed at this. 

"Sorry I didn't mean to laugh at you... I was just__"

"Whatever"

Veronica scowled at her and stepped out. 

Zen gave her hand and she got out.

"Be respectful towards Mila, Veronica... I won't tolerate your this behavior..."

He said with warning glare. 

"Then tell your girlfriend to stay away from me."

Veronica glared back.

"I am not here to entertain her... And don't you dare expect that from me. Yes, I am nice to people but I have certain limitations."

Mila got out of the car and cleared her throat awkwardly.

"We should go inside... Don't worry about me, I'll entertain myself... Be assured."

She smiled at Zen. 

Zen smiled at Mila and led Veronica inside. Veronica scowled when he placed his hand on her waist. 

She didn't get that old warm and safe felling, it was uncomfortable and suffocating now. 

Veronica smiled when she saw Zen's father.

"Good evening, Sir."

"Good evening... How are you?"

Zen's father who has resembles to Zen except his grey hair and wrinkly face said.

"Dad!"

Zen hugged his father.

"You are looking beautiful, Veronica... I am glad to see you guys together..."

He smiled. 

"I hope it will continue like this."

"Of course... Vera is my life, dad!"

Zen said.

"I can't imagine myself without her... She knows how much I love her, isn't it sweetheart?"

He squeezed her waist.

"Of course"

Veronica smiled.

"Zen is the best decision of my life."

"Really?"

His father said amused.

"Then where is your wedding ring."

Veronica's eyes snapped towards her ring finger and her stomach churned. Last time she saw that ring in Vladimir's hand when he removed it before having sex. She gulped when she realised that she forgot to take it back but she covered up quickly without displaying her fear. 

"Actually I lost it... I took it off before surgery and couldn't find it again..."

She gave embarrassed smile.

"I was so guilty and sad for my carelessness but Zen assured me... He said my happiness matters more than a piece of jewelry... Right Zen?"

She looked at him.

Zen nodded with same smile. 

"Yes... And She will get the best ring ones again... I don't like that finger empty..."

"Aren't they cute, honey?"

Zen's mother said with huge grin who was standing beside them. 

"They really are but I am still not convinced"

Zen almost rolled his eyes when his father said this.

"Give me grandchild and I'll believe this __"

He pointed between them with bored face.

"__Thing between you is real..."

Zen frowned.

"Dad!... Are you serious?"

"Very much"

His father looked at him sternly.

Veronica was stunned after his words. She can handle blackmailing and fake relationship but she can't give him child. It will ruin her completely. 

"If you don't want then fine but you know the results."

He father said. 

"Anyway... I am getting late for my flight, I can't attend your party till the end..."

Zen nodded at his parents and bid them goodbye. 

"I am not giving you any child..."

Veronica pushed his hand away from her waist.

"I am already going to become a father, I don't need you for a child..."

Zen looked at her with same hate. He grabbed her arm harshly.

"Where the fuck is your ring?"

Veronica hissed when his nail dug in her delicate skin.

"You are hurting me..."

She glared at him.

Zen let her go with jerk and she rubbed her arm.

She looked at her arm and then to Zen.

"If I can save a man in hundreds ways then I also know how to kill a man in thousand ways...."

Her eyes were throwing fire. 

"Next time keep your fucking hands to yourself..."

Zen gritted his jaw angrily.

"Don't forget I have your brother... You are talking too much..."

"You can't do shit... Because the key for your inheritance is in my hands. One call to your father and all your hardwork will go in vain..."

She threatened.

he was fuming in anger by now.

"Don't you dare... What gave you wings?"

Veronica smirked.

"I was too good to you because I thought there is a hope... Now that this illusion has broken I suggest you to stay in your limits because I am not interested in being disrespected by someone I lowered my standards for..."

Zen was taken a back by her fierceness. He has always seen her good side. He didn't know that she has this savageness in her. 

"I need to teach you a good lesson..."

He threatened her.

Veronica was about to answer him but then her eyes fell on the entrance and her heart almost stopped beating. 

She froze when she saw Vladimir Volkov coming inside with two more men. Wearing coal black tuxedo and walking in like it's his party. 

She noticed all head turning towards him as he walked. Some were silent and some were excited by his presence. 

She gulped when his eyes landed on her, cold grey and that intense look like she is his prey. 

She clutched on her dress tightly when he started coming towards her.
