Chapter 3: Looking for Ariel

Somewhere in B city...

A man sat on a chair, his work table resting in the space in front of him, stack of papers heaped on it. He was in deep thought, staring intently at the papers in front of him. He was dressed formally in a black suit, and a red tie that hung from his neck. His hair was blonde, and he had blue eyes. His brows furrowed as he looked at the papers in front of him.

Looking up, he stared at the lady across the table. She was dressed in a black fitted dress. Her auburn hair was let loose, falling on to her back. Her skin was pale and her lips were dabbed with red lipstick. Her Emerald green eyes stared at the man sitting across her.

"That's it?  I asked you to find out everything about that day and you giving me this?  He said, irritatedly tossing the papers to the floor.

"One job and you could not even do it right" he added, massaging the space between his brows.

"They blocked out every piece of information, Sir. I need more time" She replied, her voice laced with frustration but he just waved his hand without sparing her another glance, indicating for her to leave. Picking up the papers from the floor, she left. Closing the door behind her, she leaned  back on it, sighing deeply before regaining her composure and walking away.

Picking up his phone from where it sat on the table, Magnus dialed a number. Damn that assistant. Such simple job and she couldn't even do it right.

The call went through on the third ring,

and a feminine voice could be heard from the other end

"Why'd you decide to call me, Magnus? the lady asked

"I need your help with something"

"I told you never to ask my help again, I'm not willing to help you" she replied, obviously irritated

"Believe me when I say this, Daciana...You definitely don't wanna miss out" Magnus replied, his lips curling up into a smirk.

"She's alive" He added, waiting for a reply, but there was silence on the other end.

"She's somewhere in B City...Ariel is alive" Magnus added.

And then his phone beeped, She had disconnected the call.

Smirking evil, he wiped an imaginary drool from the corner of his lips.

Gray mansion...

"Oh my, madam shouldn't be doing this" Yara said, feeling a bit embarrassed. Their madam was really too kind, helping them do some chores at home. Even when they kindly rejected her help, she would still insist until they couldn't reject anymore. Madam was kind and humble. She didn't bully them, unlike the madams of other elite families. Some of them would throw their weights around, asking the maids to wash their feet.

"Come on Yara, I don't mind doing this at all...it's actually not so hard. It's fun to do actually"  Hazel said, pulling out a weed from it's roots. Beads of sweat gathered on her forehead as she worked in the garden, the scorching sun hitting her. Her dress was drenched in sweat.

After hours had passed, Hazel was finally done. Panting, she stared at her hand work, feeling pleased. Dusting her muddy hands, she wiped the sweat that rolled down her forehead, leaving a smudge.

"I should get water for Madam to wash her hands" Yara said, intending to do as she said, but Hazel stopped her.

"Never mind it, I'll just go take a shower"

Stepping into the living room, Damien was just about to leave the house. He was dressed simply in a black T-shirt and black pants. It looked like he had just took his bath, since his hair was a little wet. She froze as her eyes met his. What was she supposed to say? She had not yet forgotten how she shamelessly drank from the same cup as him yesterday. Gosh, how was she supposed to face him now?

Her eyes darted around, avoiding his gaze.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at her, why was she covered in mud?

He wanted to ask what she had did to dirty herself so much, but he just said

"you should probably take a bath"

She froze, she had forgotten how dirty she looked. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment as she looked at the floor.

Walking out, he didn't give her time to reply. He had left. She wondered where he was headed, but she decided not to probe.

Sighing, she proceeded to go take a shower.

Black Emblem clubhouse...

A man who looked to be in his early thirties sat on a couch in the VIP area. His skin was pale, and his hair was dark brown. He was dressed casually in a dark blue shirt with long sleeves, and black pants. His eyes were cold as he proped his feet onto the table in front of him, twirling the glass in his hand. There were bodyguards all around, looking out for any harm that could come to their master. They were all dressed in fitted black long sleeves shirts, tucked under black pants. They wore black leather boots, making them look stunning.

Damien walked towards the VIP area as soon as he got to the clubhouse. Many bodyguards around, but they did not try to stop him as they would do to someone else.

The bodyguards that stood outside the VIP lounge bowed as they saw him, opening the door for him to enter.Damien walked in, meeting Dylan who seemed to be enjoying his drink.

Damien  sat lazily on the couch opposite Dylan, his face neutral.

"I didn't even ask you to sit" Dylan said, his eyes not leaving the glass he was holding, seemingly amused by the content of the glass.

"When did i ever need someone to ask me to sit?

"You really have grown audacious" Dylan said, his lips raising up into a smirk

"What do you need anyway? Dylan asked, his eyes finally leaving the glass to stare at Damien who was casually playing with a little golf ball he saw on the table.

" Do i now need a reason to visit my brother? Damien asked through clenched teeth, He was obviously trying to mask his hatred.

"Hahaha" Dylan laughed heartily as he stared at Damien

"Don't tell me you still despise me for what i did, little brother?

"That's right, I despise you. But what can i do when you have all the connections? Damien said, shrugging his shoulders

"Some brother you are, Damien... remembering me only when you're in trouble. Anyways, what do you need this time?

"Magnus is back in B city. He's been back all the while, but he hid it" Damien's gaze hardened as he clenched the ball in his hand tightly. He had a feeling Magnus was up to no good.

"so, what exactly do you need my help with? Dylan asked, staring at his brother, his brow raised questioningly.

"His location is still unknown, so I'm guessing he's up to no good"

Smirking, Dylan asked

"So you need my connections to find out where he is?

Damien was quiet. He indeed needed his brother's connections.

After what happened in the past, Damien knew how cunning Magnus was. Damien guessed he was hiding in the shadows because he was up to something. He knew Magnus had found out...And now he was looking for Ariel.
