Chapter 4: You will be mine, Damien

The sunlight peeked through the window, hitting her perfect skin. The day had dawned, bringing it with new hopes and aspirations. Her lashes fluttered open slowly. Her eyes suddenly went wide in realization, she had slept off last night. She had been worriedly waiting for Damien to come back last night, reading a book in the living room. But how did she get to her room?

She scratched her head feeling confused, then finally shrugging it off and going to freshen up. She had gotten used to the house these passed few days. It wasn't all that bad living in the gray mansion, but she still couldn't remember Damien being her husband.

Sinking herself into the water, she enjoyed the feeling. It smelled of lavender. Closing her eyes, she leaned back on the tub.

"I love you" He said, clutching her hands to his chest tightly

"I love you so much, Ariel. Please stay with me" He continued, a tear running down his cheek

"I'm so... sorry" She choked out, she was running out of breath

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you, I'm sorry I let you down" She said, reaching out her bloody hand to touch his face. She wiped his tears, she couldn't bare to see him like this, especially when it was because of her. She was running out of breath, she was tired, she just wanted to sleep. She finally closed her eyes, taking her last breath in his arms.

"No! Please, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I hadn't confessed sooner" He mumbled, his lips trembling, but he knew she was gone... he wasn't in time.

Her eyes opened abruptly in shock. Looking around, she was in the bathroom. What had happened?

Getting out of the tub, She clutched a handful of her hair, almost ripping it off her scalp. She recollected what she saw. Who was that girl?

why did she see that?

Trying to get her mind off it, she got dressed in a pink oversized shirt and black baggy pants, tied her hair up into a messy bun, as usual, before going down for breakfast.

Reaching, she drew a chair in which she sat. The table was empty, and she wondered if Damien was still sleeping. The maids served the food that consisted of  sea food, her favorite. She looked anxiously at the elevator, expecting Damien to walk in any minute, but he never did.

"Oh, Sir asked us to inform you to eat without him, he went out early" the maid said, feeling apologetic.

Hazel looked gloomily at the door. Although he didn't speak to her so much, it was still better having him here than eating all alone. She stuffed her mouth with sea food, she actually found it very delicious. The chefs in the gray mansion really made the best foods. She didn't believe simple sea food could taste this good. Although Damien wasn't here, she still enjoyed her breakfast. Seeing it was sea food did improve her mood. She finished eating then headed back to her room.

She read a book, as usual. Finally getting bored of reading, she decided to try something else. Hazel opened her closet, trying different clothes and then staring at herself in the mirror. She even tried on the lingeries. She blushed thinking how Damien had got her these himself. Yara had told her how Damien had went to the boutique and got her the clothes, rejecting the ones he thought would not look good on her. Yara even told her how Damien had said

"My wife's bust is not that small" when one of the sales girls brought out a smaller lingerie.

She blushed as she thought about how naive Damien was... did he really know her lingerie size?

Gray industries...

Damien sat in front of his work table, studying some important files as his assistant stood beside him, waiting for a command from him.

His brows would furrow when he didn't understand something, and then they would straighten out again.

Alicia thought it was cute. Their boss was so good looking, he'd look good no matter what he was doing. His side view looking very nice as she stared at him, lost in her fantasy.

It was said that their boss had not been seen with any woman, that's why she at least had a little hope that he might notice her. If only she could be the boss' woman... And those strong arms, what they would feel like being pinned down by him.

Shaking her head to get rid of the thoughts, she blushed, realizing how crude her thoughts had been.

Feeling a tap on his shoulder, he raised his head to meet the Amber eyes of his assistant staring at him. Her eyelashes fluttered coyly abs age stared at him.

"It's lunch time, should I get you something, Sir?

"no, thanks... just close the door behind you when you leave" Damien said indifferently, continuing to study the papers.

She pouted, feeling displeased. She wasn't bad looking, so why did he act so indifferently even when she was acting cute. Didn't CEOs like weak girls?

"You may leave now" he said, looking up to stare at her. His eyes were cold.

Stomping her feet, she picked up her bag from the desk sitting at the side of the office before walking out. She headed for the cafeteria, Where the employees always ate. She passed by some employees on the way, who mocked her for trying to force herself on the CEO.

"Hmph! at least I get to sit in the same office as him" she said

"You can't even go close to his shadow" she snorted, walking past them.

"Who does she think she is?  one of them said, feeling displeased

"Just because she's the CEO's assistant, she thinks she can bully us?

"She's a bully but acts all Coy in front of the CEO. Who's she trying to decieve? another said, flipping her hair back.

"Our CEO is an intelligent man. Don't you see the way he looks at her?  I can see the coldness In his eyes"

"His eyes are always cold, silly"

They gossiped as they walked towards the food section.

Pheona stared into space, playing with the fork in her hand.

"You will be mine, Damien" She mumbled to herself, her eyes holding a malicious intent
