Episode 6

Episode 6: MY CONDOLENCES

Anna and Nova were taken to their rooms while I spoke with Mom. I asked her questions about Dad's death, but the only thing she could tell was the validity that he had gone out to do some business with some group of people, but something went wrongly and he was killed. We would see that her explanation had loopholes; there was no way Dad would leave home and doesn't have to be accompanied by his guards as an Alpha.. something is definitely wrong, but what?

I was taken to my bedroom to rest, at least before the rest of my family members get here, Anna and Nova came over a little while later and they managed to snatch a bottle of champagne.

"Huh! Do I need to know how you got that?" I pointed at the champagne in Nova's hand...

She grinned and goes right ahead to pour the liquid inside the glass cups she brought..

"Let's make a toast?". She suggested.

" A toast? You know my dad passed away right?". I tried not to overreact...

Nova nodded her head and then said..

"I'm aware but at home, whenever someone dies, we celebrate his life by drinking". She used a scenario of when her uncle had passed away back home..

I don't see the need way but it was what she wanted and Anna would hate me for sending the bottle of champagne back without her at least having a taste..

We had a toast and we were able to converse for a while before Mom called me down to welcome my annoying but loved family who had traveled far and wide for dads burial.

I'm certain a few of them like the fact that dad's gone, when he was alive, Dad wasn't the most friendly person you'd come across but to us, his family, his kind and would be willing to do anything for..

"I'm sorry for your loss". Said aunty Mariam, she and dad has never once gotten along, and honestly I don't blame Dad, aunty might be married to an alpha, she still wants to butt into dad's affair's and tell him how to run his life...

"Thank you!?" Mom hugged her as she Walked away, allowing the next family member to pay their respect to mom...

The same thing happened till there wasn't any closer relative left, dad's burial would begin in the evening, and so we have enough time in getting ready..

Anna and Nova was still in my bedroom when I came back..

"Hi, did something happen". Nova saw the depressed expression on my face as she asked..

"No? I'm good". I carried my luggage and began to look for a suitable burial attire for dad..

I obtain an attire and got ready for the dad's burial in the evening.

Afterward, Anna and Nova came down with me. They also had dark cloths on, Anna took nova hands when she saw mom and the other ladies ambling toward me, I saw them leaving as they walked to meet some girls talking by the balcony..

"Oh my goodness! Freya is all grown up".

The old lady beside mom said as she grabbed my cheeks and squeezed it enough I have to rub that particular side to be able to feel my cheeks..

"Yeah! She's now a woman". Mom gave me a proud look...

I grinned when she said that, and whenever she goes all proud Mom on me, I usually allow her to do her thing..

No one should ever interrupt mom when she glorifies herself as a good parents..

"Nice! I hear she attends Riverdale high".

Aunty Mariam came with her daughter..

They both ogled at mom like she wasn't a good mother..

"Yes! She attends Riverdale " mom boldness increases.

I saw that, and so did aunty Mariam and her daughter..

Later, they left wanting to go do something important. Mom grabbed my hand as she excused herself from the audience of others.

"Mom , is everything okay?" I asked her..

"Nope! But I need your help" she said and then closed the door of the study room..

"Help? What do you mean?" I asked her.

Mom took time before responding to my question , she carried some of dad's old things and placed them on the table.

"Freya, this belonged to your dad! And as his daughter, you'll have to assend the throne of your father?". She openly declared ..

I knew one day I'd take over my parents pack but never would I have imagined it to be soon, there's a different between anticipating something and wanting to have something done immediately..

"Mom, can I think about it?". I paused..

"Hmm! Fine, but you have until the next full moon,". She clarified, which was happening in the next full moon.

The ceremony was made successfully and we had dad farewell. Later, Anna and Nova wanted us to take a Walk, it was already passed 12 pm in the midnight.

But sincerely, I was feeling the need to get some fresh air.

I took out my jacket and we left .

"Hmm! Today went well?".

Nova said as we went toward the gate..

"Yeah! It's sad Freya lost her dad". Anna expressed.

My friends shared their feelings with me.

And yes, Nova's brother might not like me, but I consider myself as a good friend to his sister. .

We were walking down the streets, it was empty because everyone must be inside their Houses sleeping.

We ambled toward the old lady's house, who have died year's ago, when suddenly I felt my back hair standing, it only those this when someone is either following us or there's evil in front.

"I think we should go back"...

I dragged Anna's and Nova 's hand back, as they both veered around the same time.

"Go back? What happened?". Nova interrogated..

"Yeah! Is everything okay?". Anna interrogated as well. .

"Fine! But place trust me". I said to them, and curiously pulled them away from moving past the house of the old lady..
