I just saw the results of my admission test in college. And I’m happy that I was qualified to enroll at this University. This was one of my parent’s dream, to get me studying at notorious school. I’d rather choose the State College to save high expenses that we’re going to spend during my school years. I don’t honestly think I deserve to live a life, calming myself because I have my parents to rely on. They’re up to that, and willing to support my studies.

I sat to one of the benches in the school and scroll to my phone screen. I just haven’t reached out the guy who called me earlier. He didn’t even sent me the specific location to meet up. I saw a notification popped out from Wazup. One message from unknown number. I feel excited, for I was just using this mobile number for searching possible jobs as students. I have to be more generous as early as I could before it’s too late.

A message was from the contacts of hiring maids/nanny at home. I was surprised to see the income salary for weeks. It costs around $100, I guess? But I have to be stay in while the contract is valid. I saw the terms and conditions while reading it. I don’t know why this kind of housekeeping job, needs more further process to confirm getting hired.

I texted back the message saying, “I’ll go right now. Sent me the address. And thanks for this opportunity.” I urge myself and ran faster out the school gate. I realized that the location was just near this school. Probably, you’ll have to cross the streets once and turn right then there’s a huge house which was surrounded with high gates. Fortunately, it’s not that near from our school. It took couple kilometers distance from the school where I was been.

I tried to call the contact number earlier but failed to reach him out. While I was standing outside for minutes, I felt the sudden poke upon my left shoulder. I looked at the person who just interrupted my business in phone. I smiled at the guy that I’ve saw earlier. He’s wearing a sweater and a pair of white shoes, with a white cap on his head as well. “Oh, what are you doing here? Do you have business with someone there?” He asked. The way he’s looking at me, makes me feel intimidated. I just realized, he’s one of the wealthiest student I’ve met at Ngarap school so far. Imagine to hear his background, that he graduated High School and primary school in that University.

“Yes. And, I was just wondering if there are people in there,” I replied while peeking inside the gate. There are only a peaceful plants and clean lawn that only dares to see me from here. I get more awkward atmosphere with this guy behind me. I glance at him and now realized he was typing on his phone already.

“Where do you stay, by the way?” He asked again that makes me look stupid to automatically smile without any big deals. “Do you mind if you’re going to answer my consecutive questions?” The way his stares only fixed to me. I couldn’t resist to belittle myself. But I held my head high and forced a smile.

“Outskirts of town,” I shortly said and sighed in relief.

“So, you do commute?” I nodded to his question. He wasn’t convinced yet. It was like he wanted to hear something more than that. “You’re going to study here? Are you sure?”

I chuckle to his inquiry, and I could sense how he’s to anxious about the too far distance of my future house and school. “Don’t worry. I’m going to stay here once the owner hired me already as maid,” I said with full of confidence. I peek on my phone screen and saw the message that I haven’t bothered to seen since I was talking with this anonymous guy. “What’s your name?” I know that’s out of my limits, but I have to ask it for once we meet each other. I might not call him in different names.

“Carx Gomes. Nice to meet you,” he said and extend his hand to make a shake hands with me. And I quickly accept it, for some of the time there’s a chance of being honored to befriend a rich. “I was actually staying here.” He pointed out the house and chuckle.

I was stunned to speak, like for real? He was the son of this wealthy family? Gomes right? That was a thrill and makes me feel sudden goosebumps. “For real?” I just wanted to faint right now and run as far as I could. Like did I just told him that I’m going to stay here?

“I found your situation interesting. I never thought you’re the one who contacted my parents after hiring housekeeper was announced on our webpage,” he sarcastically laugh and approached me a bit. He bit his lip and reach for my cellphone. He didn’t even dare to ask for my permission before taking an action.

“Haven’t you seen it? Carx just hired you! Congrats!” He chant and tapped my shoulders. His breathe tickles my bare skin when he was like inch distant from me, just to whisper the words : “You may get more bonus if you start tomorrow.” He winked afterwards and waved at me to bid a goodbye. He enters the door after one of the maids open it for him.

That was unbelievable. I can’t even fall asleep as I couldn’t accept the fact that he was the son of Gomes family. Obviously he’s rich, but I didn’t expect to meet him in a small world! I adore his kindness, and he’s undeniably charming.

I checked my Wazup again to sent a reply for his offer. I’d like to decline it or make some alibi’s to escape from him. But he just sent me the description of their payroll for housekeepers and in their obligations in the house. I was shocked to see that those are just basic task. And the salary went over hundred dollars.

I suddenly got a call from him that startle me the most. He speak in a hoarse voice saying, “Did you eat already?”

“Yes,” I said. “You?” I wanted to act like I was under his control for he’ll going to tie me with his family’s grant salary for housekeepers. He then laughed from the other line and fake a cough.

“I’m fine, babe.” His voice seems teasing me. And I didn’t even resist the force of tingling sensation inside my head. He really was joking around, huh?

I couldn’t resist smiling that could make my lips to extend more by this sugarcoating words coming off from the mouth of this person who suddenly made a move without knowing each other. I just met him once, and absolutely a first time. But the way our fate crosses, we tend to meet each other and suddenly have casual conversation. I regret showing my confidence earlier that absolutely have my heart drop in shock knowing he was the son of those richest that I’ve contacted, for the sake of earning enough allowance for myself.

I feel extreme happiness, because he was acting like he had known me for years that he gives me easy job to fulfil in an exchange to have huge worth of money. I feel guilty for the others if I am going to work there already. I’d definitely feel awkward if I start to saw his face every morning and have to be more comfortable around men, especially him who have me awkward the way he stands for himself. The luxuries and vogue of his dresses, the styles are just classic and hard to reach.

“I honestly think you’re making fun of me,” I said while leaning against the wall. I bit my lower lip to stop from smiling. “What’s with the call?”

“I just suddenly missed you. I’m excited to have you here in the house—” I looked around if my parents are there as I reached for a glass and fill it with water. My heart started to jump for something rare, a feeling so extraordinary and joy. Was that all I am looking for? Having myself happy and makes me tingle for a moment? I realized I wasn’t been into relationship thing. Since I’ve been hopeless myself and have a dreams that I even wished to complete as early as I eager to finish.

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Can I end the call already? My parents might hear me ‘bout this,” I reasoned out and put the glass to the sink as I waited for his reply. He seems comfortable talking with me, unexpectedly a casual type person. His vibe doesn’t make me relate, the way he sounded amusing my stupidity and such earlier.

“Okay then. See you!” He said and hang up the call. His voice stained with sadness, obviously have changed his attitude the something that I can’t be sure about.

As I intend to go asleep after putting my cellphone on the desk. It suddenly vibrates three times indicating sent messages. I peek on it and saw a message from SaveCash that I received fifty dollars from the sender whom never let me have a sleep with peaceful mind. “What’s with this again?” I asked as I received another message from SMS.

Unknown number :

My early bonus for you. Good night.

I had no choice but to enter the car, quietly observing them on the front seat while I leaned and looked outside the window. I haven't thought of going back to Carx's home. Firstly, his dad was aware that I was once their helper. I couldn't believe now I'm standing in front of their gate, just like the first time. I saw Magna standing at the front door as she smiled at me. I felt comfort when I saw her. I walked towards her and gave her a hug. I noticed her belly got bigger. She saw me glance at it and said, "It's a girl." I smiled widely like nothing mattered. I looked at Venisa, who was walking towards me and gave me a warm smile. "I'm sorry about the last time, dear. I thought of inviting your family to come over so we can have a dinner before we leave the city."I nodded and pressed my lips for a thin smile. We went inside and felt Calden and Carx followed us. I directly went to the dinner hall. I saw Mom and Dad sitting beside each other a

I know I was freaking out and got worried when I couldn't reach Carx. Calden went to me after we headed to the exit of the hotel; he was simply keeping up with my pace as he tried to initiate a topic, but all I answered was a nod. "Istanio told me you were looking for us. Is there something happening?" Calden inquired, but I merely nodded. He pressed both his lips before he turned to where Istanio and the others had been following me till we reached the side of the road. This is the stupidest thing I ever did! Why would I even have to run here to look for him? He's safe! Sure, he is. Camila would be the closest company he'd easily reach out to because they have something in the past. What about me, though? I felt someone was already standing beside me. I glance at her; Camila was sighing heavily as she bit her lower lip and forced a smile. "Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded and noticed she looked at the back, reminding the others how silent I

After a few days, I haven't seen Carx much. I was waiting for him to come in the door with his friends, but all I saw was Rue most of the time. One afternoon, I was wiping off the table next to Rue's. He was there with a girl, bluffing jokes to her while Feliz busied himself playing on his mobile. Istanio approached me with a taunting smile as he uttered, "What happened that night when we left?" He referred to what happened between me and Carx that night. Not sure how he knew about it? I blushed when I remembered what I did! I can't tell him we kissed! I swerved my way out and headed back to the storage room. "Calden has mentioned to me they ate dinner in your house days ago?" he asked, now serious when he inquired. "Yeah," I said, then nodded. I busied myself arranging the cleaning equipment and headed back to the counter when I saw Feliz standing in line while Sabrina assisted him. It's been a month since I talked to Feli

I saw how Mom masked up sarcasm when she connected the dots. She knew that I worked for the Gomes family; even Venisa was surprised to hear it, and her casual glances make me feel uncomfortable. Dad and Calden always initiate a conversation at the table. Mom would raise her brows at me, and Venisa would smile wryly when she met my eyes. I gazed on my plate and chewed the sliced pork. "We're so thankful that you made it tonight, Mrs. Gomes," said Mom as she smiled genuinely. I looked at Carx, carefully looking at me before he shifted his eyes to Calden. Calden glanced at me when he noticed Carx's playful grin. I'm not sure what's actually going on. Seeing these two guys and Venisa while having dinner with us... It is absurd. "No problem, Melina. You can ask me anytime for help—" I glared at Mom and cut her words off, "Well, no need to worry about it, Mrs. Gomes. I can actually take care of it." Now their attention was all on me. Carx smirked and almost rolled his eyes; he always

Carx likes me. A doubt some part of me and want to scold him for making me feel so below his life. Why can't I accept this? Why is this too rushed to even absorb what he meant when telling me that...I'm too much to bear because he struggles having me around? "You can't just like a person just because she almost died, Carx," I said, which made him freeze. "I really don't want to ever see you again. But you're just killing me. You're just killing me." I keep reminding myself that he has no good intention at all. Maybe this seeming reconciliation he was trying to offer was out of his pretentious personality and guilt. Does he even have a conscience after the things that happened between us? I don't get it. "You really hate me," he muttered under his breath. He has thought about it and even sounds in agreement about the thought. "I really put so much hate on you that you really think badly of me." I went near him courageousl

It's hard to eat properly. I lost my appetite real quick; I almost vomited. Witnessing all of this? Looking at Rue's way, sometimes looking at Jenna. Carx is catching glances with me. And Trexon...who just smiled a bit before turning back to his fellows on the table? What in hell is happening? "Do we miss something? I really thought you two argued that he had to leave. And now..." Elaine whispered and glanced at Marisa, happily engaging in their conversation. But their faces otherwise seem problematic. "He just picked Marisa for what occasion is this?" "They're Jay having dinner," said Istanio to lighten up the atmosphere. Camila excused herself to go to the bathroom. Is this what her mom has been telling her? "Okay, we just have to leave after eating now. Things are getting heavy," Elaine commented and faked a smile when she looked at me. "I shouldn't have said something earlier. I didn't expect this wou
