Chapter 21: A New Beginning, An Old Obsession

Chelsea stretched carefully as she sat on the edge of the hospital bed, savoring the feeling of finally being able to leave. Her injuries had mostly healed, and the doctor had cleared her to go home. Despite the pain and chaos of recent events, Chelsea felt a newfound strength. She was determined to move forward, leaving the ordeal with Aria behind her.

Just then, there was a soft knock on the door, and Reese walked in, her smile warm and welcoming. “Hey, ready to go home?”

Chelsea grinned, standing up slowly. “More than ready! Thank you for coming, Reese. I really appreciate everything you’ve done.”

“You’re family now,” Reese replied, hugging her. “Besides, Liam wanted to be here too. He’s waiting downstairs.”

They made their way to the hospital exit together, Chelsea holding onto Reese’s arm for support. Downstairs, Liam was pacing, his face lighting up when he saw them approach.

“Chelsea,” he said, stepping forward. His tone was gentle,

CHAPTER 85 – COLLISIONS AND CONSEQUENCESAdams’s head pounded. The stench of stale alcohol clung to his shirt, and his jacket was half off one shoulder. He blinked as the morning light pierced through the bar’s dusty windows, only then realizing that night had turned into day without his permission. He didn’t even remember how many glasses he’d downed. Only that the bitterness of whiskey was easier to stomach than the bitterness in his heart. His phone rang.He frowned at the caller ID—Sandra. He hesitated for a second before answering.“Where the hell are you?” her voice came sharp and concerned.Adams sat up straighter, rubbing his temples. “I’ll be home soon. Don’t tell my mother. I’m not ready to see her.”Sandra paused. “Are you okay?”He didn’t answer. He just ended the call and got up from the sticky bar stool, grabbing his keys and stumbling out into the sunlight. He slid into his car, the steering wheel feeling foreign in his hands. The engine purred to life, and he took a de

Chapter 84 – A Step Too FarAria was restless. She sat on the edge of the hotel bed, leg bouncing, phone clenched in her hand like it could somehow give her answers. The sun was already high up in the sky, bright rays filtering through the white curtains of the hotel room, but none of that registered. She had called Liam multiple times the night before, and again this morning—no response. Her texts had been read, but there were no replies. Her fingers hovered over the screen again, thumb moving toward the call button, but she yanked it away before she gave in. “Damn it,” she muttered, standing abruptly. She dialed Valerie instead.“Hey, girl,” Valerie’s voice came through sleepily.“Val, I need help,” Aria said quickly. “Liam left yesterday, and he hasn’t called me. He hasn’t texted. I have no idea where he is. Can you find him?”Valerie sighed. “Aria, I’m not in the U.S., remember? It’s not like I can just go knocking on doors.”“You don’t have to. Can’t you track his phone or someth

Chapter 83 — Unspoken Things“Don’t you dare smile like that, Reese,” Chelsea narrowed her eyes at her friend, who was practically glowing after hanging up her phone. “That was Gerald, wasn’t it?”Reese tried to hide her grin, but failed miserably. She flopped back on the couch dramatically, hugging a pillow. “You’re so nosy.”Chelsea raised a brow, then leaned forward. “It’s not being nosy when I’m your best friend and you're clearly suppressing a blush.”“I’m not blushing!”“You are definitely blushing.”Reese giggled. “Okay, maybe just a little. He said he misses me. And—” she paused, hugging the pillow tighter, “he’s coming back in two days instead of three.”Chelsea gasped, mock-offended. “Look at you, counting days now? I swear, love has made you weak.”“Jealous?”“Of course I am,” Chelsea scoffed playfully. “I’ve been stuck in romantic limbo while you get butterflies and earlier-than-expected returns.”Reese sat up straighter. “Romantic limbo, huh? You mean Liam?”Chelsea opene

Chapter 82 – Blood Ties and Betrayals Liam stepped out of the black SUV, his shoes crunching softly against the gravel of the long driveway. His eyes traced the familiar contours of the mansion, the stone columns, the glass windows, the vine-covered balcony. It hadn't changed. The place where he had once laughed with his parents, played in the garden, celebrated birthdays… it now stood cold and haunted by secrets. He drew a deep breath, his jaw tightening. He walked up the steps and pushed open the front door.Inside, the air was too still. Waiting.Adams stood by the fireplace, his arms crossed over his chest. Their mother, Marina, sat composed but tense on the leather settee, a glass of wine untouched in her hand. Adams' wife, Sandra, hovered nearby, arms folded tightly. It was as if they had been expecting him.Liam’s voice cut through the silence. “I just want to see my father. Then I’ll head to my room. I believe I still have one in this house.”Adams stepped forward, blocking hi

Chapter 81: Lines DrawnThe wheels of the private jet screeched lightly as the aircraft touched down on the tarmac of the secluded runway in Los Angeles. Liam Hemsworth leaned back in his seat, staring out the window, jaw tight. He hadn’t spoken a word since takeoff, preferring the silence to the buzz of his phone or idle conversation.Beside him, Aria kept stealing glances at him, wearing a fake serene smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. She adjusted her sunglasses as the jet taxied to a stop, then looked at him expectantly. He didn’t look her way. Didn’t speak. Didn’t acknowledge her presence. When the cabin door opened and the stairway unfolded, Liam stood, grabbed his overnight bag, and walked toward the exit.Aria rose quickly and followed, her heels clacking confidently. “Liam,” she called, her voice light, almost sweet. “Aren’t you going to say something?”He paused at the top of the stairs, slowly turning to face her. His eyes were cold.“What are you doing here, Aria?”Sh

Chapter 80: Breaking PointAdams Hemsworth sat behind his mahogany desk, fingers pressed into his temples, the screen in front of him displaying red numbers and a slowly plummeting stock chart. He didn’t need the charts to tell him what he already knew—things weren’t looking good. The door creaked open, and his mother, Marina, entered, elegant as always, dressed in a deep violet suit and dripping with quiet power. He barely looked up. “If you’re here to remind me that I’ve messed up, save it. I’m not in the mood.”“I’m not here to remind you of anything,” she replied smoothly, shutting the door behind her. “I came because I received a call. Liam is coming.”Adams sat upright immediately, eyes narrowing. “What?”“You heard me,” Marina said, walking closer, her heels clicking softly against the marble. “Liam is returning. He’ll be in the country today or tomorrow.”Adams clenched his jaw. “How do you know that?”She gave him a cryptic smile. “I have my ways.”Adams stood from his chair
