Chapter Forty Five

John POV

"Quick Bex, we gotta go!" I said as I tore the rope off her wrists.

Killian unlocked Ruthie who stumbled over to Ivan, her body was in rough shape. Ivan lifted her into his arms and started whispering to her.

"Where did you get those?" Asked Rebecca nodding to the keys with her eyes narrowed.

"From you, from the day we first met."

Bex was off, She was really upset about something but we didn’t have time to talk right now.

"Rebecca, call out to the fire." Ivan instructed as we rushed down the hallway.

She glared at him. "You don't think that if I could I would have by now?!"

We were shocked by her outburst. She never talked back to Ivan and certainly never shouted.

"Do we need the fire?" I asked.

"Vampires won't go near one, it's the best way to clear a path." Ivan reasoned. "Rebecca, we are all in a lot of danger right now and we need a clear path. You can do this."
