Chapter 6

When we got to the party it was about 8:45 just when the place was starting to get turned up...

I walked in with my friends behind me and the effect it had on people made it look like we were walking in slow-mo...

I loved that I was actually the show stopper, it made me feel more confident than I already was, when we reached the living room we all went our separate ways...

Jack went straight to the shots table, Valery saw some of her friends and went over to them, Ace was immediately swarmed up by girls which leaves me and AJ who decided the best way to start a party was to inspect the snack table...

On our way to the kitchen we saw Ethan and some guys hanging by the kitchen door... AJ tugged on my arm and pulled me with her...

The guys were making nasty comments causing a reaction from AJ as usual and as usual Ethan remained silent the whole time...

"Boys... Very unreasonable creatures if you ask me, right?" AJ said picking up a bag of chips

"Mmmm" 

"Is something wrong, Was it Ethan... Did he say something I didn't hear to hurt you..." 

"That's the problem... He didn't say anything... The whole point of coming here and dressing up like this was to show him I can be better than those girl toys he plays with..." I said in rage and tears creeping up my eyes

"You still like him, don't you?" I almost didn't hear AJ over the loud music... I looked at her and reached for a beer on the table but she stopped me

I get totally wasted and crazy whenever I drink and it felt like the best option at that time

"You can't keep doing this to yourself, besides he's with someone else now... I thought that would help... You know I'm not good with words Jess but you're stronger than this... You know that right" I looked at AJ

"And I'm not just saying this because I have to, even though it's true" I hit her arm after she said that

"I thought you were supposed to make me feel better" I said through the tears and we both laughed

"See... There's the Jess I know, beautiful, sweet, confident, hostile... If guys don't go crazy over that then they all need a beating..." AJ said cracking her knuckles and we laughed again...

I looked at the door and saw Ethan looking my way before Morgan ran up throwing herself all over him as he looked away

"You don't need him Jess... You'll find someone much better than Ethan Floyd" AJ said pulling me into a hug

"Thanks AJ, I don't know what I'd do without you" I said hugging her tighter

"Not to ruin the moment but... You're crushing me" I immediately let go and apologized to her and we laughed at the incident....

Suddenly I felt a slight tingle on my chest... Probably the crystal, I told AJ I wanted to go to the bathroom, she wanted to come along but I told her I would manage, besides I practically grew up in this house...

I went in with my purse big enough for the journal, thankfully it's not that big

I went in and locked the door behind me... I wouldn't want an accident to happen

Once it looked like it was safe I opened the book and the words started appearing faster than usual:

"YOUNG MASTER... EVIL LURKS EVERYWHERE... YOU ARE NOT SAFE... TRUST NO ONE"

"I don't understand... What do you mean... No one would try to hurt me, besides this place is packed, I doubt someone would be stupid enough to" I told the book

Sometimes the book just feels alive so talking to it felt as normal as AJ always looking for something to put in her mouth at my house

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND... ITS TIME YOU KNEW WHAT IS AT STAKE" and immediately a bright light shone from the book and as quick as it appeared it vanished and the book closed itself

"Ok" I washed my hands and left the bathroom and immediately I stepped out I saw the last person I wanted to meet at this party: Ethan

"Everyone else uses the bathroom on the first floor, only you would use the one in Danny's room" Ethan said moving his hands over the sheets

Danny was Ethan's big sister, Danielle Floyd, Ethan was only 8 years old when she passed away

She was Fun, caring, smart, athletic, strong and reliable, she was the big sister I never had. We all loved her and I think after her death was when Ethan began to change because soon after my family moved to a different neighborhood

"You know she really liked you, she felt you were special so she always told me to take care of you... But she left and when I needed you the most you left too" 

At this point I got a whiff of the alcohol he had drowned himself in "Ethan, you're drunk. You don't know what you're talking about"

"Maybe I don't, but I loved you Jess, I really did... All those stuff I did was to get back at you for leaving me behind and here you are giving me a hard time looking all hot and stuff" Ethan said with eyes still on the sheets

Now tears were forming at the rim of my eyes, I tried to walk away but his hand held me back

"See... You're leaving again" I turned around to look at Ethan who looked like he had been crying awhile now...

He drew me closer till I was sitting beside him on the bed "Don't leave me again" 

Ethan looked me in the eye and all I could think about was to kiss him even though I knew it was wrong... 

He drew closer then suddenly he falls on my lap, passed out... It was embarrassing but I can't say I've never been happier in my life

I creased his face pushing away stray strands of hair from his beautiful face, I leaned in closer to plant a kiss on his cheek when I heard a gasp from the door... Oh no... Someone was watching

I set down Ethan carefully on the bed and ran after the person, immediately I got out I was hit on the head and my vision blurred

"Some chosen one haha... You can't even take care of yourself, I wonder what'll happen if I decide to kill everyone here and leave only you alive feeling the weight that you couldn't save even one soul" the strange person laughed wickedly

"N No... You can't... Do t-that... Stop-- it" I tried to speak but instead the person picked me up by my hair

"I'd especially love to hear the screams of Ethan and AJ and all your friends and you can't do anything about it" It was true I was weak and had no power

"After here, I'll destroy this world and enslave Everyone in it with my mother while she wreaks havock upon the other world"

I began having flashes of the dream I've been having lately... The people... The blood... The destruction... That child... 

'What was I going to do' I covered my ears crying out loud and in a flash I was back in the bathroom in tears...

"What just happened to me... What did I just see" I cried

"THE BOOK HAS SEEN THE FUTURE AND HAS WARNED YOU... YOU ARE LUCKY THE BOOK HAS TAKEN A LIKING TO YOU... THE BOOK DOESN'T WORK FOR ANYONE BUT THE CHOSEN ONE... NOW HURRY AND LET NOT BE IN VAIN. SAVE YOURSELF" 

And with that the book closed... I washed my face and ran out of the room... I saw Ethan on the bed like in the vision... 

"Everyone else uses the bathroom on the first floor, only you would use the one in Danny's room" That was exactly what he said in the vision

I wanted to run away but I couldn't help myself... I ran to Ethan kissed him and ran away to look for AJ

I went back downstairs to look for the guys... I found Ace in a pool of girls, I walked over to him

Immediately Ace saw my face he looked panicked and jumped out of the girls grip

"Jess are you alright?" Ace asked me worried

"I'm fine I just need someone to take me home" I said looking around for any suspicious person

"Ok... Why don't we look for AJ or Jack..."

"Let them have fun... Now pls can we go... Pls" I said holding his hand then he gave in

With that we both left the party... 

It was a quiet ride home for both of us, I rested my head on Ace's shoulder trying to forget what I just saw and how I just avoid it...

But I do know one thing... There isn't going to be a next time... I've made up my to take the test weather I fail or not... I have to protect my friends and family no matter what
