Chapter 17
Jaxson POV
The handle was cold to the restaurant as I grabbed it to open the door. We came straight here to look at the video of the mystery girl. My mind is reeling with who I just discovered had stolen those items. Surely, there is a good explanation of what is going on.
Making a beeline straight to my office computer and turning it on, I pulled my sweater off, tossed it on the couch and plopped down in the chair. I turned on my computer as my mind was reeling. This kill could start a war or cause a lot of issues within the werewolf community. If it gets out that the sister to an Alpha was killed and there isn’t any proof other than a security camera picture, then the result will not be good. Mason was deep in thought as I pulled up the photo of the girl.

Scarlet POV It is finally the day of the ball. We have been decorating for hours and I am happy to say that I am actually getting pretty excited about it. Jaxson POV Mason and I got to the ball early as I wanted to watch everyone come in. We were standing towards the middle by the dance floor by the wall. This place looked perfect. Scarlet POV This can’t be happening! I have a mate! But this isn’t like what I was expecting. He isn’t trying to kiss me or whisk me away. Does he not want me? I finally sat down and studied him. Jaxson POV I still didn’t trust that Scarlet not only lived around here but is going to go home and stay home. That girl is like begging to be killed! I parked my car and got out. Getting undressed quickly, I decided changing into my wolf would get me there faster. I shifted into an enormous pure black wolf with red eyes. Quickly I ran, following the sounds of the 4-wheeler.
