DENVER Ybarra. He is the sole heir of the famous and well-known construction firm of the country, Mr. Anthony Ybarra and Madame Madelle Ybarra. Currently, he is the COO of the company but he wants him to rule over the company especially his father's age is quite old. But that's not in his father's plan.

"No, Denver. You don't want to give it to me, I don't want to give it to you either."

Disgusted, he turned to the Father. Here we are again in the heir discussion. When will his inheritance problem end?

"Dad, I really don't want to marry anyone."

His father sighed. His son is really stubborn. He and his mother are not stubborn so he wonders who he inherited from.

"Who wants to marry just anyone? Son, Denver. That's why I'm going to find you a bride w--"

"Dad!"

Anytime really, when the question is the company, it is always followed by marriage, children, grandchildren. His parents are acting like there is no tomorrow for marriage. He has made many excuses like having a wife and child has nothing to do with running the company. But when he complains about the inheritance issue, his parents' ears are deaf.

THE NEXT DAY, Denver with his head aching was furious. It's because Mother told him about marriage again as usual in the morning, even though he doesn't want to, they force him to open up his ears about it. Even though he wanted to run away from his mother every time it came out from her mouth, he had nowhere to run to.

"Denver."

Said Cali, his bestfriend. Even though Denver looks like an introvert, he still has friends. He is not angry with other people.

"What?"

He is currently reviewing the papers on his desk. He wore glasses and a white shirt with a black neck tie. His coat hung on the back of his swivel chair.

"Club."

If Denver is the introvert type, this Cali is not. Extra more than Extroverts. Talkative. Gossiper.

"What is it, Cali? Don't you have any other problems besides women?"

Cali laughed at him. His eye is fix on the document he's reading.

"You're mean to me, Denver. You don't seem to have a problem with women, do you?"

Disgusted, he put down the document and then removed his glasses. He set the glass down next to his coffee.

"I'm getting annoyed with you, Cali."

"Oh, really?" Cali laughs back. "By the way, Aunt Madelle said, you're getting married in two weeks. Wow. You didn't tell me, Denver. My friend kept it a secret from me. When I asked who knew you were getting married, they said I was too late. I think it's in the news because it's in the newspaper. "

He immediately stood up and picked up his coat that was hanging on the back of his swivel chair. He immediately got into the elevator and went to his private parking lot. Without emotion he pulled up his black Lamborghini with his fist tightly clenched.

"What the heck, Mom!"

Madelle smiled big as she sat in the garden and held a cup of tea.

"What? What's my baby Denver wants?"

He frustatedly stroke his hair. He hates it when his Mom play so innocent.

"Why didn't you even say that I am getting married this early?! If I hadn't found out about that Cali gossip, I wouldn't have known that I was getting married?!"

His mother stared at him.

"Karl Denver Ybarra! How dare you shout at me!" Frustrated, he turned his back on Mother. "Hey! Denver!"

"Why Mom, why?"

Madelle just let a sigh.

"Denver, my son."

"Why, Mom?"

He asked confused. It's making him crazy. It's as insane to think why they are anxious if he don't marry. Not that he doesn't intend to get married, but there is a possibility that he doesn't, he doesn't want someone to lead him in things he doesn't want especially in marriage.

"Denver, we don't have a problem with you running the company. We know that you know your responsibility in the company. What your dad and I is worried for you is that, you are forgetting about yourself. Yes, you're fine, healthy, handsome, but when are you going to have a companion? A wife? A family?"

He didn't answer his mother because they would probably talk for a long time. Even so, even though they only cared about him, he still couldn't understand.

SANDRA De Luna. A not-so-famous florist with famous boutique. Also a Fashion Designer. She was riding in her BMW while an earpiece was placed in her ear. With a speed of 80 Kilometers Per Hour, she manages to stay calm and speaking with a client.

"Sure, Mrs. Ybarra."

She answered. She said she wanted to order flowers for a big occasion. And she wants to meet Sandra.

"Tomorrow then, Madame. Thank you, Madame."

She entered the gate of her house then parked. She got out of the car and went straight to her house. She took a deep breath before she took off her stiletto and proceed into his room.

She's 31, young and beautiful. She is successful in terms of bussiness, she already has everything and she has reached all his dreams except one. To have her own family. A family that she can say hers. That sure love. The difficulty of not having a good family.

Sometimes people judges like her easily. That she is lack of love. Lack of care. It's a turn off for them if you grew up in the orphanage. Sometimes she thought of it. 'What is so big deal?'

She sighed when her phone rang, she handed the phone to the side table and put it on the loud speaker.

"Tina, what is it?"

Tina, her co-owner and her bestfriend since young.

Though, Tina didn't grew up in the orphanage, she became her friend despite her biggest insecurity.

"What's the matter, girl? How are you doing?"

Her forehead furrowed because she couldn't understand what Tina was pointing at.

"Why? What's up?"

"That's it. Let's avoid being alone and sometimes you'll gossip. Hey, I have a story."

This is what she is saying. It will take him until midnight to listen to this woman's gossip. Tina only called once to tell a story and said hello but it was worth it.

"You have nothing else to say every time you call other than the gossips and stories you picked up. Gossip teller."

Tina laughed out loud from the other line. She got up from her seat and went to the bathroom with her phone.

"Yes, girl. Apart from the fact that there are no complaints about your boutique and fashion house, I have nothing else to report other than the gossip I picked up! Hey, Sandra De Luna. You're in Lantaza City but I'm closer to gossip."

"Gosh, Tina. There are so many side-story, just tell me what you're gossiping about."

She took off her clothes and then went down to the shower. Cold water covered her body.

"It's because of my husband. Isn't he one of the Engineers of the Ybarra Construction Firm. It's just that Madame Madelle and Sir Anthony, they want to have daughter-in-law."

She frowned then turned off the shower.

"Who?"

"Madame Madelle and Sir Anthony, the parents of the country's 'The Great Denver Ybarra'. If I was his Mother, his son is thirty-four, I'll get nervous that he won't be able to marry."

Of course, the 34 year old Denver Ybarra is still single and not yet ready to settle down. She has a crush on him when they were in High School because they attend the same university. But because he was to high to reach, she chose to look at him instead of trying to reach the young man. She didn't want to be like those women at his level but he still ignore them. Especially in those days when she was just a part-timer in a flower shop, isn't it embarrassing?

"Then you know, they're so desperate that they're looking for a woman who will suit their child. If I'm not married, I'll present myself."

She followed it up with a silly laugh.

'Hey, woman. Do you want me to leave you?' Limuel, her husband, said.

"Isn't he your Mr. Ideal when we were in High School? Isn't he? Isn't he? Oh, that's right, you'll meet Madame Madelle, she might like you for her son."

Sandra sighed softly and then said goodbye to Tina.

"Just in case Madame Madelle choose you up, let me know, huh?"

She just said yes just so that her friend has nothing more to say. When she came out to walk in closet wearing her classic pajamas she went to her mini-bar and poured rum into her glass.

She drank it thinking about what Tina said. If then she hadn't choose to reach Denver, she might now have hope. But it seems, it seems like she is not sure. She didn't want to look desperate but that's the truth, desperate if desperate.

HIS Mom is smiling again from ear to ear.

"What again, Mom?"

"I'll ready your wedding. I'll take care of that. What you need to do is wait for your bride."

What just happen to him? What if he just ran away? He shook his head. He doesn't want to be able to read in news papers and online articles that he is one of the world's runaway fiances. He's not Cinderello to run.

"Anyways, I'll meet my soon to be daughter-in-law today. I want to meet her again. I wonder how she grew up?"

He just listened to his mother without emotion and then turned his back when she blamed him for why they still don't have a grandchild. His Father, Anthony Ybarra, is already going through the name transfer papers. He really can't runaway. The next day he will really get married.

SHE step on the gas because she don't want to be late in their meeting area. It's always okay for her to just wait for her client than it's the client waiting. It'll be embarrassing.

She sat down at the table she reserved at a famous resto. After waiting for 5 minutes, a familiar woman stand beside her. She stood up too to greet her. She kissed Madame Madelle on the cheek.

"Have a seat, Madame."

"How is Sandra De Luna doing?" Madame asked her with a smile.

"I'm doing good, Madame. How about you?"

Madame Madelle smiled.

"Hija, The Great Madame Madelle is always doing good."

"That's good to know, Madame."

"You know, you're my type of girl. I still remember when you were in High School, when I first saw you at Xylon University, you were that girl with high dreams. You know, the girl with so much dreams. Look now, Sandra De Luna, a name that resonates today."

She could not help but be ashamed of Madame Madelle's compliment.

"Oh, Madame Madelle. You're one of my role models. That's why I respect you so much."

She just laughed at Sandra. Mrs. Ybarra rested her back on her seat, crossed arms while looking intently at her.

"What about being my son's wife? Be my daughter-in-law, Sandra De Luna."

"How’s the trip?" Sandra asked. It was already six in the evening, and Denver was carrying Demie while holding Denie's hand, who was wiping his eyes as if he had just woken up from a quick nap."Momma," Denie lifted his arms, wanting to be carried by his mother.Sandra opened the door and let them in. They went straight to the kids’ room, and Denver gently placed Demie down on the bed."Thanks," Sandra said. The kids wanted to go out and play, but Sandra didn’t have time because she was busy with her new winter collection. Once the kids were settled in bed, Sandra turned to Denver, who was standing by the doorframe, looking directly at her. She immediately felt a warmth spread to her cheeks. She quickly tried to push it out of her mind and cleared her throat."I'm sorry for troubling you. I just couldn’t let the twins go on their own, especially without their nanny," Sandra explained."No worries, I enjoyed watching them too," Denver replied. There was a long silence between them. Fro

Denver had planned to invite Sandra out on a date, but when it started raining, they decided instead to pick up the kids from the nursery school. They were overjoyed when they saw Denver, and the kids ran to him for tight hugs. When they got home, the twins immediately ran to Xyl when they saw him with their godmother, Grace.“Daddy!” the twins shouted in unison and ran towards Xyl.Xyl was holding Denie, while Grace was carrying Demie. If Denver didn’t know the twins were Sandra’s kids, he would have thought Xyl and Grace were a couple.“Daddy, I miss you,” Demie said sweetly to Xyl, which made Sandra laugh.“Really? ‘Cause Daddy misses you even more!”“Ninang Gracey, you’ll stay with us, right?” Denie leaned against Grace’s chest.“Maybe? Ask your Dad. If he stays, I’ll stay too,” Grace teased Denie.“Why didn’t you tell us you were coming home? I don’t have any groceries!” Sandra complained angrily. She was just joking. Thankfully, they came home right away, or else the kids would

It’s been a week. She had already brought the twins back to the Philippines, but they were staying at Xyl’s house. She didn’t want to bring the kids to the hospital, nor did she want the Ybarras to see them. At least if they asked Xyl, he would say that they were his right away. He loved to claim them, so when the kids were asked who their father was, they would point to Xyl.Sandra was working on her computer when suddenly the machine started beeping wildly. She stood up and looked at Denver, who was staring at her with red eyes.“You’re awake,” Sandra said, pressing the button at the bottom of the bed to notify the nurses.“How are you feeling?” she asked Denver in a soft, tender tone. The machine started beeping crazily again, and when she looked at Denver, he smiled. “What?”He opened his mouth, but he couldn’t speak. When the doctor and nurse arrived, Sandra moved aside so they could properly check Denver. She just stared at them while they asked her questions, and she responded

"He had a brain concussion," the doctor said when he was asked about Denver’s condition. For the first time in three years, he returned to the Philippines. No plans, no other intentions but to see Denver. He had many scratches and wounds. His head was bandaged. He was also unconscious.According to the investigation, his car malfunctioned. The brakes didn’t work and there was a gasoline leak, as if it had been planned. They couldn’t find any other evidence because his car was hidden from the cameras. He was lucky that his car didn’t explode when it fell into the ravine, and thankfully, someone witnessed the accident. It’s been three days, and he still hasn’t regained consciousness. There’s no positive sign."All we can do is observe and make an immediate response if needed," the doctor said before leaving.Meanwhile, Cali was sitting on the sofa, just staring at Sandra."You’ve changed," the young man said to her, "like you aged.""Of course. Three years passed," she said emotionlessl

"I'M going home," Denver said.Sandra quietly listened to him. First and foremost, she knew she had no right to ask any questions. What was the point anymore, right?"I wanna fix all of this once and for all. By the time we meet each other again, I want to be whole. No more baggage," Denver said with a laugh. "I want to face you without you wondering if I’m going to leave again, or if I’ll stop pursuing you the moment you forgive me.""I’ve done all sorts of things, but believe me, they say people never change… well, unless someone’s willing to," he added."Then good luck. I hope you find your way back home just fine," Sandra replied, her voice steady but distant."I already did. I found my way back home... but the gate won’t let me in," Denver’s words carried weight as he spoke.Sandra felt the sharpness of his words sink into her, but she remained silent. He was so close, but yet so far away.I miss my wife so much. God, if only you'd give me a chance.Denver reached out for Sandra’

“Sandra…”Denver felt like he was about to cry. Seeing her face to face felt unreal, like he was daydreaming. She was here—standing right in front of him, in the flesh.“D-Demie, let’s go home,” Sandra urged, trying to pull her child away as Demie held onto Denver’s pants.Demie looked confused. Even Denie kept staring at Denver.“Mom, he’s the guy I’ve been telling you about.”“Y-yes, let’s not bother him any longer. Let’s go home,” Sandra pleaded. She felt like she couldn’t endure Denver’s gaze. It was too overwhelming, as if he were digging deep into her entire being. She didn’t know what to say or what to do; all she wanted was to run away… again.“S-Sandra, can we talk? Hm?”At the very first step Denver took toward her, Sandra felt her knees give in.“P-please, Denver. N-no, please.”Hearing her beg him not to come closer made his heart ache. How painful was it?
