Emillia

After convincing my husband to be that we do not need a bundle of gifts for my parents and that they were not materialistic,we were at home, sitted across my parents. My sister was by my side, busy pinching me and nudging at my arm.

“Olivia,stop it.”I whisper at her.

Father glared at Gregory who laid back,a knowing look in his eyes and a plain look on his face.

Worry was written all over my mother's face. She glanced at father who's fists were balled on the table. Mom placed a hand on his knees and he unballed his fists.

His hand travelled to the band that was wrapped around his head,an unconscious act it seemed.

I clear my throat to break the thick air of discomfort that had surrounded us.

“Where did you meet him,dear?”

“Church.”I reply quickly.

Mother observes him.”Which church?”

“Our church,mom.”

She gives me a tight lipped smile. She knows, she knows too well that he is not a member of our church.

“He was there with a friend.”I add.

She nods and does not say more.

“I am getting married to him.”I state confidently.

“No.”Fathe countered aggressively.

“Father…”I whine.

“You know nothing about this man.”

“I know him more than you do.”I argued, leaning back and crossing my arms.

Father's eyes remains glued at my posture until I uncrossed my arms and sat upright.

“Oh,really?”He leaned back.”What do you know?”

“Well,”I look at Gregory then back to my father.”Gregory Densmore,29 years old,he is the CEO of Atlantis Civilization. He has an older brother who's 32,”I hesitate.”I think he's 32.Ummm…both his parents are alive and…"That is all I was aware of. "I think that's enough.”

“That is not enough to walk into marriage,Emillia!”Father objected through clenched teeth.

I get ready to argue but he diverts his attention to Gregory.

“Follow me.”He said, already on his feet.

I frown.

“If anything is to be discussed then it should be done here."I hold Greg's wrist. "I'm the one who's getting married after all.”

Father places his hands on his waist and glares down at me. “Don't push me.”He spits.

“This is better than me committing the sexual sins that you always warn me of.”

Mother gasps.

“It's better than me getting pregnant without knowing who the father actually is.”

Father laughs.”This is stupid. You want to get married for sex?Is that it?” He screams.

My mouth drops open as I jump back, sinking more into the chair.

“Then go,Emillia.Go and get pregnant with any man you meet on the street.Walk into a club and pick all the men you want to sleep with.Do everything we've ever told you not to do but don't…”He shakes his head.”Don't get married to this man.”He pleads.

“Wow.So all I had to do to be allowed all those things was to bring a man home.i see.”

“You don't get it…”He reaches out to me.

I stand.“The wedding will take place tomorrow.Join us if you want.”

I grab Gregory's hand.He stands without me pulling him up. “Ater what you've just told me,I don't think we'll need your blessings.”

I walk out, leading Greg with me.

Immediately we get out,I let go of his hand.

“Milli.”Olivia called before I could speak.

“I told you not to call me that.” I complain.

“Can I talk to you?” She asks without looking at Greg.

“I'll be in the car.”

“Do you love him?”

My eyes remain calmly on hers.

She smiles.”You don't.”She takes my hands in hers. “Is he rich?”

“Kathrine did a background check and he is wea-lthy.”

“Buy me a house and a car and the latest…”

“Get your own husband.” I joke.

She laughs a little before his expression became serious.”Come home anytime,Millia. If you can't then call me.”

I shake my hand from hers.”Don't say such mushy things.People might actually think we love each other.”

She hugs me.”I love you.”

“Okay, enough.”I gently push her away.”Make sure you come to my wedding.”

I walk to the car.

“Do you know my dad?” I asked immediately I settled.

It was clear that father hated him,no,he was afraid of him. Then again, anyone who would take a member of her family would definitely scare him.

“Never seen him before.”

I lock my eyes with him.”I hate being cold.” He doesn't reply. “I hate it just as much as I hate being lied to.”

He nods and starts the car.

“You have your legal team, right?” He glances at me.

“I do.”

“Call them.We are getting married today.”

He smiles.

“But I have my own demands.”

“Anything you want.”

“It ends when I want it to or when you want it to.I want shares in your company.”

“You're my wife, you can have the whole company if you want.”

“No.Thats too much,I'm not that motivated in the business area.”

He nods.

“I need an apartment.”

He takes put a card and hands it to me.

“You don't have to mention anything that needs to be purchased.”

I smile.”Just so you know,I read and books those fancy pages are expensive as hell.”

“I can get you the authors if you want me to.”

Wow,such an egotistical man.

I clear my throat and continue.”I heard lots of movements when you kidnapped me.”I continued.

“When I took you for a conversation.”He interjected.

“That's not what it was.I do not want to live with all those people.”

“You need to.”

“I don't want to.”I resorted.

“Some times I won't be around,Emillia. You will need to have someone around.”

“I have hobbies,I don't need people around.”

“You don't get it….”

“...Call your legal team and don't forget to include my terms.” I cut him off.

“Okay.”He said while nodding. “But you haven't heard any of my terms yet.”

I lean back and cross my arms.“Go ahead.”

“You are not to allow any man to lay hands on you,Emillia.”He spoke slowly and deliberately. His tone cool and dangerous.

“That's it?”

“I mean it.No man.”

“Noted.Lets go get married.”

“And after that you tell me,your husband, all your fantasies.”

I bite on my lower lip, just thinking of how I'm going to experience everything I've ever thought of.

GregoryI didn't need to turn around to know who had just walked into the range. The heavy, uncoordinated footsteps and the obnoxious scent of expensive cologne gave him away instantly.Sebastian.My brother leaned against the doorframe, a half-empty glass of scotch in his hand despite it being barely nine in the morning. His eyes were bloodshot, his dark hair a messy fringe over his forehead, but a malicious, mocking smile was plastered across his face as he looked at Emillia holding the smoking firearm."Well, well, well," Sebastian drawled, his voice dripping with amusement. "I see they've decided to give you some of their toys. Tell me Emillia,on a scale of one to ten how well can you aim now?"Emillia didn't flinch. Instead, her posture stiffened, her eyes narrowing into slits as she turned her body toward him, the gun still held firmly in her hand. She raised the gun and aimed it directly at Sebastian."Careful, Sebastian," Lucious warned from the corner, his hand casually drif

EmilliaThe morning sun had barely managed to pierce the heavy, gray clouds when Gregory woke me. He kissed my forehead before rolling out of bed with a few words I couldn't make out.I opened my eyes, blinking several times to adjust to the light.“I hate you.”He chuckles.” I know you don't mean that.”“You could have woken me up yesterday.” I whine as the image of me turning to my side when I was beneath him replayed in my head.“You were tired.”“I fell asleep during sex!” I shriek. “During a make out session.” He corrected.I groan and roll out of bed.Gregory didn't say a word as he placed a set of dark clothes on the bed. A black long-sleeved shirt and cargo pants.“Practice?” He hums in reply. “Get ready and meet me downstairs.”When we walked down to the estate’s private underground shooting range, Lucious was already there. He was standing near a stainless-steel counter, setting down several boxes of ammunition."Morning, Emillia," Lucious said, his voice light as always.

EmilliaMy hands were shaking, my palms raw and smelling faintly of sulfur and gun oil. I had spent the last three hours in the basement with Lucious, taking apart that black pistol until my fingers moved automatically, memorizing the weight of the firing pin, the spring, the slide.I wanted control. I wanted the power to ensure that the next time someone shot at a car I was in, I wouldn't be the one waking up in a hospital bed. When I pushed open the door to our suite, the words I was about to say to Gregory died in my throat. The room was dimly lit. Gregory was leaning forward, his face dark and intense, while Francesca, the head housekeeper, was on her knees on the floor, her face wet with tears. The atmosphere in the room was so thick with tension that it had me suffocating. They both snapped their heads toward me the moment the hinges groaned and I stepped in.Francesca scrambled to her feet instantly, wiping her face with the back of her sleeve, her professional composure slamm

Gregory I left Emillia in the armory after laying out guns he had to practice assembling. I walked down the quiet, dimly lit corridor toward the estate’s private study, my mind shifting away from my wife to Francesca. The door to the study opened before I could touch the handle. Lucious stepped out, holding a thin, single sheet of paper. His green eyes were completely stripped of their usual humor. "You found it," I stated, my tone flat. "It wasn't easy," Lucious replied, handing me the paper as we walked into the privacy of the room. "Francesca’s file has been systematically scrubbed within the Densmore system. Father kept her background completely off the books. But I managed to dig up her original employment medical records and the old syndicate ledger from thirty one years ago." I scanned the document, my eyes skipping past the standard blood work until they landed on a single handwritten note at the bottom, stamped by a private syndicate doctor who had been dead for a decad

EmilliaAfter a week of me pestering my husband about my training,he finally gave in convinced I was healed enough.Gregory guided me toward a pair of heavy, iron reinforced double doors at the far end of the basement corridor. He pressed his palm against a digital scanner. A soft beep echoed, followed by the heavy, mechanical click of the locks disengaging. When the doors swung open, the scent of expensive leather was instantly replaced by the sharp, metallic tang of gun oil and cold steel. An armory. In the center of the room stood a long wooden table, entirely bare except for a…gun.“We're starting with shooting?”Gregory stepped away from me, walking around the table."If you want to live in my world, Emillia, you don't get to rely on weak punches," he said, picking up the weapon and laying his eyes unto mine with an intensity. "You need to understand how to use weapons. Every single one you can get your hand on. You need to be ready to pull the trigger without hesitation."I swa

EmilliaI was awake but I kept my eyes closed for a few moments, letting my other senses map out the room. The air smelled of sterile antiseptic, expensive leather, and a faint hint of cedarwood.Gregory’s scent."I know you're awake, darling," a deep, gravelly voice murmured from the shadows near the foot of my bed.I forced my eyelids open. The room was dimly lit, the heavy curtains drawn tight against the morning sun. Gregory sat in an armchair, his long legs crossed at the ankles. "Where were you?" I rasped, my throat dry.Gregory stood up, his massive frame instantly dominating the small space. He walked to the bedside, pouring a glass of water from a glass pitcher and holding it to my lips. I drank greedily, the cool liquid soothing the fire in my throat."I had to settle a debt," he said softly, setting the glass down. His thumb caught a stray drop of water on my chin, his touch lingering against my skin. "How is your head?""Like someone ran a printing press over it," I mutte
