Elvira’s POV

Three years later

I can’t even say my life is worth it anymore. For the past three years, all I have been doing is hide-and-seek.

I stood in front of the hospital ward, where my daughter has been for three years. She has been unconscious since that day and I couldn’t even do anything to help her.

I came from time to time to see her, but I was always fully covered, with caps, glasses, a face mask, and sometimes a nurse's uniform, so no one would recognize me.

“It’s time to leave, her family will soon be here,” The nurse who I had paid to work in the hospital and be by my daughter’s side said with a tray of injections in her hand.

“Is there any improvement?” My voice was barely audible.

“She moved her finger the night I played the audio you sent,” The nurse said and a small smile appeared at the corner of my lip.

I sometimes send an audio of me singing her favorite lullaby so it could help her wake up soon.

“Do we really need to see the child?” I heard the voice I have never forgotten in my life. That voice was engraved in my bleeding heart.

I looked up to see the demon who caused my baby girl to be in this position with a child in her hand and holding the man I thought would protect me.

This was the first time I had crossed paths with them in all these years. No bit of sadness in their eyes, their skin glowing like they were living their best life. They were happy after destroying mine and my children’s lives.

“It’s for publicity,” My heart broke hearing that from Casper’s lips and Calix's words rang in my head.

I adjusted my facemask and turned to leave when I accidentally bumped into Karisa, “Have you gone mad!” She roared like an angry lioness.

Under the mask, my eyes were cold. “I’m sorry,” I apologized in a tiny voice and ran away from the scene. I couldn’t allow them to recognize me.

I was filled with anger, spite, bitterness, and hatred all over again as I drove home.

“Becky!” I yelled as I threw my bag on the couch in the living room.

“Yes ma’am,” Becky, my personal assistant and Calix's most trusted staff, responded as she stood in front of me.

“How far along are the shares of Casper’s company?” I asked, still furious at the situation I witnessed.

“We are currently at forty seven percent shares, we need at least seven shares to become the highest shareholder at the company,” Becky answered professionally and calmly.

I tapped my feet against the floor, “ Snatched it from anybody, take it legally or illegally!”

I couldn’t wait any longer. Twenty percent shares originally belonged to Calix, and he somehow managed to acquire twenty-seven more shares, and he also has some shareholders by his side.

“Sir asked us not to do anything illegally and the remaining shares belonged to family members and trusted people of…….”

“Leah,” I snapped my finger as an idea came to mind, “Use Leah.”

“Your ex-sister-in-law?” Confusion creased on Becky’s forehead.

“She is dull, she is gullible, meet her, set up some quick rich investment, give her some money as part of the reward, convince her so she can transfer her shares legally,” I smiled mentally at the idea.

“I will do just that,” Becky responded.

“Don’t stop there, get me the deed of their house,” I hated the way they looked peaceful, “Somehow get it transferred, use Leah and it won’t be that hard, you can use anything to entice her.”

“The house wasn’t part of the plan,” Becky said and I nodded my head.

“Now it’s part of the plan,” I responded, “I give you one week to present the house deed and the shares.”

“My team and I will do our utmost best,” Becky said, “Mr Calix is in his studies and would like to see you,” She said and I dismissed her with a wave of the hand.

My life changed the day I took Calix Kyrell’s hand. I was given the platter to be Mr Calix Kyrell’s wife and he gave me the power that one could only dare dream of. The power my ex-husband didn’t have and even my adopted family couldn’t have.

I knocked gently on the door before I pushed it open. Calix and I rarely see each other. Ever since we got married on paper, this was the third time we were seeing each other; he was never around.

“How was the visit to your daughter?” He asked as he gestured at the chair in front of him.

I politely took the chair, “It was fine…. I didn’t think you would be in town.”

“Yeah…. Becky just informed me about you wanting Casper’s home,” Calix said and I nodded my head.

I knew it, even though Becky answered me, she always reported to Calix first but this time it was fast.

“Okay, I will get you the deed of the house legally,

It will be yours,” Calix said, and I couldn’t help but smile, though I didn’t know how he planned on getting it.

Ever since the day I agreed to marry Calix, he has placed his people in every aspect of their lives so he could know everything about them.

“Are you leaving anytime soon?” I couldn’t help but be curious.

Calix shook his head, “I have been away for a long time and right now I think it’s time to face the public.”

I looked at him with confusion, “For the past fifteen years, nobody knows the face behind Kyrell’s group, the most successful business chain, and I want to change that on the fifteenth anniversary party, and I would like you to accompany me to the event.”

I was shocked, I was taken aback. We have been married for three years, and it’s all an act, so I didn’t think he would make me go public with him. I thought I was just borrowing the name.

“You have to also bring yourself to society,” Calix said, pulling me out of my thoughts, “I will announce our marriage to everyone on that day.”

“I…. I…. Don’t know if I’m ready for that,” I don’t know if I was scared or uncertain.

“The plan is simple, I will introduce you to the public as my wife, your name and pictures will bring an uproar, everyone will question your identity, some will try to get close to you because of what they will benefit and that’s when you will strike,” Calix explained and I nodded my head in understanding.

He gave my hand a light squeeze, “Don’t think too much, you have waited for that day and it’s almost here.”

I lightly pulled my hand away, “I wasn’t thinking too much, my ex-father-in-law is still the president, and who knows what he might do.”

“Do you trust me?” Calix asked and I nodded my head, “Then you should listen to me.”

Do I really trust him? I have known him for three years, and at the same time, I don’t know anything about him. He has a lot of secrets and for some reason, I still put my trust in him.

“I will get ready to meet the public, I will make sure to look beautiful by your side and we will make the anniversary of Kyrell’s group the best reveal they have ever seen,” A smirk made its way to my face as I imagined how that day would be.

“I will fix the date,” Calix said as he turned his attention to his laptop.

“Let me fix it instead,” I suggested.

Calix smirked, his face showed he knew I was up to something, “And what date do you have in mind?”

“My first act of kindness would be to put the date on the day of Casper’s new launch and invite the businessmen to Kyrell's anniversary, a place they could only dream of entering,” I smiled, “What do you think?”

Calix laughed out loud, “The stage is yours.”

Elvira’s POV I have waited three years for this day and it was finally happening. Everything has been going on smoothly. Leah was as dull as I said; she sold her shares in a heartbeat, but we haven’t gotten access to the house. Calix said to be patient.I was the highest shareholder at Casper’s company. The Jordon’s family must be happy celebrating their new launch not knowing a storm was coming into their lives. I stood in front of the mirror, and I smiled when I couldn’t recognize myself. For ten years, I was made to dress basic as a full-time housewife. My ex-mother-in-law would say nails are dangerous around my kids, she would say I didn’t need any jewelry, I was the wife yet treated like a servant, but today I was wearing the nails and expensive jewelry. My once black hair was dyed into golden blonde, my nails were done into a blue and pink French tip, and I wore a backless emerald-colored gown with silver shoes to match. Emerald? It was once my favorite color but I can’t s

Elvira’s POV I watched as he turned on the TV, “The world mourns as the eldest daughter-in-law of the president was found dead and burnt in her car,” A newscaster announced following the scene of the accident. I watched the scene in horror— how did I survive that?—then the man holding a cigarette flashed through my mind, “Did.. did….. that… man save me?” “The truck driver?” The man scoffed, “You don’t get it yet? Do you really think it was an accident?” Come to think of it, he did hit me on purpose because there was no way he didn’t see my car, and I can’t remember him helping me; he just stood there with the cigarette and was making a phone call. The more I watched the news the more my heart shattered. The family I grew up with had accused me of embezzlement of company funds, fraudulent activity in the company, tax evasion, insider trading, data violations and bribery, and corruption. “My late wife was mentally unstable,” Casper cried, and I numbly watched, “She is the re

Elvira’s POV The sound of a machine beeping rang in my ears; I could hear water dripping, and no one's presence was felt. I tried to open my eyes but I felt intense pain in my eyelids. I tried to move but the pain was worse. I didn’t know where I was or who was around. I tried my best to move, “Call the doctor,” I heard an unfamiliar voice speak, and that only made me more scared. Who was she? I have never heard this voice before. I managed to force my eyes open to see that I was in an unfamiliar room. The room was lit up but was painted in beige; the room lacked color, and it was simple. There was medical equipment in the room and the water droplets I heard earlier were the drip attached to my hand. The familiar face of the manager I had met at the hotel was here and that made me even more anxious. Did Casper save me? Or did Karisa save me? Why was the hotel manager standing next to me? The doctor came into the room, he did some examinations on me, and spoke to the manage

Elvira’s POV My feet hurt; the heels I wore made my toes bleed. I was pregnant, yet I was made to wear this tight gown. A gown I could barely breathe in. They said my so-called husband and I were supposed to welcome the guest, but I was the only one standing by the entrance, welcoming the guest like a butler. My mind was on how my daughter was doing and how she ate nuts. I excused myself from the entrance, I needed to check my daughter’s room to figure out who gave her the cupcakes. “Have you lost it?” I stopped right in front of the studies when I heard Casper yell at someone. I wanted to ignore it but I saw Karisa inside the room as the door was slightly open. I scoffed with disgust. Now, they aren’t even hiding. “I did it for us!” Karisa yelled back and I couldn’t help but be curious. “Did I ask you to kill my child! You freaking knew she was allergic to nuts and you purposely fed them to her!” Casper yelled, “Now she is lying in the hospital.” My ear rang. I must b

  • Dear Ex-Husband, I Came Back To Destroy You    002

Elvira’s POV The cab driver stopped in front of the place Karisa drove into and it was my Father-in-law’s hotel. That was weird. If she wanted to meet her boyfriend at the hotel, then she would have used our Father’s hotel. I paid the driver and came down from the car under the pouring rainfall and followed behind Karisa. The receptionist refused to let me through, they said it was orders from above but after so much pleading, the manager of the hotel gave me a spare key card. “Whatever you are looking for is in that room,” She said gently and walked away. I took the elevator, placed the keycard in the elevator and it took me straight to the VIP room. This place was only meant for the Jordan family. I was following Karisa, so why was I given this key card? I was scared to open the door, I didn’t know what to expect, and I didn’t know what I would see or what I would hear. I wanted to turn away but I wanted to save my marriage. I wanted to clear my doubts, so I placed the key
