CORRIE

"Today's activity will be horseback riding." The head teacher bellowed loudly as we followed her and two stable boys. They would be assisting with today's activity and they chipped in a bit of knowledge to both students and teachers along the way.

Everyone gasped in awe, while my hand pinned behind my back as I drowned out the noise. I used to be a stable girl when I was 16. Horseback riding used to be Devon's favorite sport and I would do any thing at the time to blend as an accessory. I literally became a stable girl to please the bastard.

"Mrs Nash.." I was pulled out of reality to see the head teacher smiling back at me. It was eerie, it was odd and the first time she looked at me with such kindness.

"Your husband..." She points over to Emmette and a few men who were discussing. I looked back at her and then back at Emmette who smiled at me, then winked and I couldn't help but blush like some school girl.

"Won't you give him a wave?" She smugly grinned and I can see what's

EMMETTEI wanted to hold her hand. But I knew that would make things… weird. I’d given Penny the day off, even though she was supposed to be the one on this work trip, and dragged Corrie along instead. Honestly, I didn’t know what I was thinking. The entire week had been a blur of chasing leads, trying to figure out who sent that letter to Mimi Remington.Nothing was turning up. She had given me seventy-two hours, and most of that time had already slipped away. I was still digging, but it was strange that Mimi hadn’t even bothered to check in. With how urgently she’d requested this, you’d think she’d have had the decency to follow up.At least she wasn’t getting on my nerves. Still… I didn’t trust her. That was why I’d brought Corrie along to keep her within sight. But even with that, I’d been nothing but distracted.Kiara had caught me red-handed during the board meetings, my eyes darting to Corrie whenever I thought no one was looking. That little slip had definitely come back to bi

CORRIEI nervously put my hair behind my ear, I looked to my side to see Emmette's who's eyes were already on me. I looked back at my tablet gripping tightly to the bezels. I cleared my throat, coughing and resumed the habitual of putting my hair behind my hair. "Should I get you a hair clip?" Emmette's words caught me off guard. I had to make a pause to even understand what he meant."Huh?" I questioned startled."You're having trouble with your hair. Let's get you a hair clip." Emmette tilted his head towards the exit of the underground parking lot. I scoffed under my breath, though my lips betrayed me, curving upward despite myself.I am so glad my hair was covering the side of my face or else he would have given himself credit for being amusing. I tilt my hair back, already defeating my point and proving his."Thank you Emme..Mr Nash." I said in a controlled breath. "But we don't have time for that. It's already late and we need to get to the suite. If you haven't already noticed

CORRIE“Hey, Penny. How’s the wedding planning going?” I muttered into my phone, smiling faintly as she let out a giggle.Penny was resigning because she was getting married. She and her fiancé were planning to start a restaurant with the money they’d both saved up. I’d only met him once when he came to pick her up but with the wedding so close, most of her workload had quietly shifted to me. Still, Penny tried to check in, calling whenever she could and reminding me of things I already knew.“Herald, stop it,” she laughed, sounding like she was swatting him away.I listened from the other end of the line, the noise of their shared moment pressing in around me, leaving me feeling oddly lonely.Show-off."It's fine, Corrie. I finally tried on the perfect dress for my after-party. I’ll send you a picture once I settle down. Herald and I need to pay a visit to the event planner to see how things are going," she explained. My gaze drifted to the long, floor-to-ceiling window of the buildi

MIMI"Divorce me." I scoffed under my breath at the audacity of Devon earlier. Imagine if he did. How on earth would he find help after word gets out about his murder?Does he think people would want to surround themselves with murderers, or big shots like Kennedy Goodwin will still want to work with him? He's too sensitive, lord knows how he behaves at work. Now I'm here making tea and and putting out biscuits for Kennedy.I'm one heck of a good wife.I placed the tea on the tray after I'm done and head over to the living room with a bright smile. Kennedy was going through his phone until he finally noticed me.He shot me a smile as well and to be honest he looked very handsome. He's rich as well.If only he wasn't related to Corrie I would have seduced him as well and left Devon a long time ago.I dropped the tray right in front of a small stool that was placed in front of him."Help yourself Mr Goodwin." I said. "I apologize for servings. I really didn't expect you at all and our m

MIMIMy ears rang at the accusations and suddenly the puzzle suddenly pieced itself together. This was a confrontation."W-what?" I stuttered, the room felt like it was spinning and any moment from now, it could come crashing down."What are you talking about?" I hissed in bewilderment. How did he find out? Did Corrie finally get to him? Did Corrie tell him all of these?“Don’t play dumb,” Devon said. “You killed Haven. Didn’t you?”He stepped closer, his fingers clamping onto my shoulder. The sour stench of alcohol hit me, hot and heavy, turning my stomach.“Get your hands off me.”I shoved him hard. Devon stumbled back a step, barely catching his balance.“You’re drunk,” I snapped. “And now you’re talking rubbish.” I forced the words out, hoping they would throw him off.Devon let out a low, painful laugh."I'm far from drunk woman. Infact, I've never been more sober in my life. I'm in my right fucking mind Mimi." He declared as my lips quivered in fear. He bends down, picks up the

MIMI"Come on." I grunt pacing around in the living room. With a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other as my shoulder and the side of my head pressed my phone in place at my ear.The call like the last three times didn't go through and I was beginning to get frustrated.I walked over to the table, putting my glass down next to the bottle of wine as topped my phone on the table as well in annoyance."How dare this bastard not answer my calls? When I'm his highest paid client." I hissed waiting for the fog of the smoke to calm me down. My heart still raced and it drove me crazy that any moment from now, Corrie would expose me to Devon. I should have known from the way she cautiously shared a few glances at him. She was hell bent on ruining me.Was this why she didn't show any interest in Emmette? Pretending to lose her memory when all she wanted was to get back at me and get Devon as well. Her greed disgusted me. And I can't help but worry if her plan is perfectly falling into
