EMMETTE'S POV

I was exhausted. I don't know how long this investigation has been going on. Everything was slowly becoming a blur. The investigation was going nowhere, I've been refused a lawyer and somehow through out the entirety of the investigation, they had found my DNA on Sarah Remington and even somehow came up with baseless proof that I was attempted to murder Corrie.

I sat down, not even paying attention to the police. Anything I said they would ignore me and come up with witnesses I have never seen before who sat there and lied that I was behind everything.

Even Lilly and Benjamin Remington came in at one point. They blamed me for the murder of their daughter, the wife was sobbing while the husband tried comforting her till she got too loud they had to drag her away.

I didn't have my phone, they confiscated it so I couldn't reach Abel. The officers had left the room, my hands cuffed to the ends of the steel-bolted interrogation table. If I planned to escape, I'll have more lu

MIMIThe doors of the juvenile center creaked open. The warm breeze of freedom brushed across my face. I took a step forward—into freedom. Behind me, the doors began to wind shut once more. The day you're released, just know Emmette Nash is dead.Abigail really kept her promise.Once you’re free, I’ll have my driver and your brother pick you up. Come see me immediately.I stepped ahead and spotted the limo she’d described. Parked not too far away, it stood sleek and still. I smiled and made my way toward it, stopping at the passenger-side window.I gave the tinted glass a light tap.The window lowered, and the driver tilted his head, silently motioning for me to head to the back. The back door opened. Keith walked out and gave me a wave as he trailed towards me. He got my small bag and I followed him to the back seat.Kieth let me enter first, then he followed shutting the door behind him."Welcome Miss Mimi. Where shall I be driving you today?" The man at the front questioned."Take

  • Dear Ex Husband, I'll Make You Wish You Were Dead   072: Are you in love with my wife?

SALEM"She just went through a shock. She'll be fine but I'll advise you avoid things like this in the future to reduce the risk of a stroke." I peered at the entrance listening intently at the doctor's advise to Emmette. I was tempted to walk in there and see how Corrie was doing but since I trespassed at first and I wasn't in any way related to Corrie, I would be kicked out if I caused another scence. I also didn't want Corrie to go through that again just because, I couldn't control my temper.I hated it. That I couldn't do anything for her at the moment but be idle. The door swung open and the doctor stepped out. I instinctively took a step back, trying to catch a glimpse of Corrie, but Emmette stood in the middle of the doorway, blocking my view. I frowned, taking another step back just as Emmette met my gaze and closed the door behind him.My hands dug into my pockets, and I could feel his eyes fixed intently on me. My gaze dropped to the swelling on his nose—he still looked pr

  • Dear Ex Husband, I'll Make You Wish You Were Dead   071: Let's go through with the divorce

EMMETTE'S POV I couldn't keep my eyes off Corrie the moment I walked into the hospital room. She was busy answering the doctor's questions. I came in with a small bouquet of pink roses. My heart constrict a bit each time I tread towards her. Her eyes eventually noticed me and a small smile reached to the corner of her lips. The doctor noticing, tapped his pen against his clipboard. "That would be all Mrs Nash. I get you're excited to see your husband." The doctor teased Corrie. Both her ears blossomed red and I didn't even think that was possible."I'll be going now." The doctor announced and turned to me. "Don't ravage her right there Mr Nash. You don't want Mrs Nash to sustain any more injuries." The doctor smirked and winked at me. My brows furrowed at his words. My eyes moved to Corrie. Her entire face was red at this point."How is she going to sustain.." I paused realizing what the doctor meant. Is this man insane? Why the hell would I even do that to Corrie.I tilt my head at

  • Dear Ex Husband, I'll Make You Wish You Were Dead   070: Pool of tears

EMMETTE'S POVThe doctor slid a cup across the table but I ignored him. He was worried, I could guess. My eyes felt heavy and I couldn't even enjoy the possibility of sleeping. And him giving me a cup drugged with sleeping pills made me irritated a bit. Not when Corrie could barely open her eyes, not when she wasn't awake. I can't remember how long it's been. The moment I lodge her into the hospital I've fervently been by her side. And these days come to think of it, I spent more time in the hospital than I would normally at work.It was laughable but I could barely curl my lips to form a small smile. If someone told me four years later that they wouldn't even catch me at the company, burying myself in a load of work. I would have told them in their fucking dreams.I couldn't help but feel guilty, after Emerald died. Work was the next best thing. I tried my best to give a reasonable amount of time to Emery and dating again was a hassle, so I didn't bother. But then, I laid my eyes on

  • Dear Ex Husband, I'll Make You Wish You Were Dead   069: Shall we join hands?

MIMII shouldn't be out of my cell, walking down the corridors with two wards besides me, taking me to God knows where. I was scared, and unkind thoughts flood my brain. Had Emmette finally decided to silence me? Did Corrie request of this and were these two wardens paid to escort me to my very doom?I couldn't tell. I may be overreacting but who wouldn't.It wasn't normal for me to be out, I wasn't expecting my brother anytime soon and ever since Amelia cut me off, neither of the Remingtons including my so called husband bothered to pay me a single visit. My limbs felt heavy, like they were dragging weights. And every time I managed to take a step, they would get a tad heavier. Even when I stopped, the wardens pushed me forward in annoyance. That was it, my fate had been sealed. I couldn't accept to die like this. I just can't, and Emmette choosing to get rid of me this way spoke volumes of his powe.My heart thump in my chest and I could see my life flash before my eyes. I saw how e
