Chapter 7 : Jacob Confronts Samantha

Tristan step out of the lift and catch a glimpse of the woman he suspects as Nicole, as the opposite  lift close it's doors. He hurriedly  chase the woman but his phone rang.

"Damn!" He look at the caller it was Samantha in distress.

"Hello babe, your grandfather is back, please hurry he is harassing me!"

"Ok I'll be there." He immediately return back on his private lift. Thinking what does his grandfather have to complain about Samantha this time.

"Oh God! is there no ending to this bickering between grandpa and Sam." He was exasperated wonder when will he have peace from this two opposing persons in his life.

When Jacob Hewitt went to visit his grandson he expected to see him in his room. He is supposed to arrived earlier. he was surprised to find another man with  Sam in his grandson room.

"What seems to be happening here? Where is Tristan." He asked confronting Samantha.

"I...I mmm... don't know." Samantha was taken aback with the hostility the old Hewitt have for her.

"You acted  as his wife yet you don't know that he arrive earlier today? You must start thinking what is your role in my grandson's life." Samantha is shocked that Tristan did not tell her of his arrival.

He must be suspecting of her unfaithfulness she must be more careful of her moves.  She push the man beside her and signal him to get lost.

"Who are you? What are you doing in my grandson's room . Where is Tristan?" The old man suspects the presence of another man  in his grandson's home.

So he came to check. What he saw confirms his suspicions.The man with Sam immediately get out of the room and leave the home.

"I'm, I'm..."

"So Tristan  allowed you to stay here in place of my granddaughter-in-law? You send her away."

"No I didn't!" She was fuming with anger but prevented herself from retaliating, this is Tristan's grandfather she will put herself in a bad light if the old man will convince his grandson to leave her.

"Grandpa! You're here?" Tristan came in.a bit later.

"Yes! I came to visit and check on your cheating mistress. She has a man in your room."

"What? Sam how could you?"

"Tristan babe, it's not true! Your grandpa is lying!"

"Huh me lying! You cheating bitch. I intentionally didn't tell you the time of Tristan's arrival so that he will catch your cheating ways."

"Grandpa..." Tristan  had long suspected of Samantha's cheating but he didn't caught her in the act. Besides he felt guilty that she had difficulty in conceiving because of her miscarriage before. He also stop having sex with her, might be the reason why she look at other men.

"I told you before that this woman is no good for you son, but you go on sending your innocent wife away. And decide to have your mistress  to stay here to make you happy? Is that it?" Tristan suspect that his grandfather is loosing his temper by the rising color on the old man's face.

"Grandpa Samantha has nowhere  to go. She is here as a companion not as my wife. I have not yet divorce Nicole. Until we will find her or have evidence of her death, then  I can remarry." Tristan lied but Samantha became confused is he sending her away too?

"Eventhough,  a decent woman must never visit a married man's house much more invite another man into his room and enters his room while the wife is away. It gives bad impression."

"I just asked her to get something from my room, I'm sorry grandpa." Tristan said but the old man don't believe his alibi for his mistress. But he let it go.

"You should be...  I don't know what is happening to the younger generation now they seem to have loose morals." As he speak the old man is looking at Samantha. She stayed quiet but deep inside she itch to speak her mind to insult the old man, but just like always she got hold of her temper.

"Hmm... Since Nicole is not here I will wait for her until she returns."

"But grandpa we don't know where she is wether she's alive or not." Tristan insisted that Nicole might not be coming back.

"Well in that case I will stay here with you and hold the fort."

"What?!!!" They both reacted.

Tristan and Jacob continue their discussion without Samantha's presence.

"Grandpa I hope you move on and accept that Nicole is gone."

"No! I have the feeling that she will be back soon!" The old man insisted. While Tristan suspect that his grandpa might know something that makes him hold on to the hope that Nicole might return. 

His suspicions was reinforce by the sightings he had about the woman who looks like  her.

"Do you know something that might tell you that she is coming back?"

"No! Why do you asked?"

"Nothing  grandpa... I are you not worried that I may not have an heir because you keep holding on Nicole's return." Tristan hesitatingly asked.

"You can marry or.have children with another woman but not with that cheating bitch or I will disown you." Jacob threaten.

"What's with this Nicole Hayes that you are willing to disown me for her sake?" Tristan  disgustedly left his grandpa.

"Just you wait and see son... Just you wait and see." The old man said in a lower tone. Jacob's reply baffles Tristan.

While Charles who acted in Tristan's place and Nicole agreed to be partners. They were just waiting for the contract to be sign signaling the beginning of their partnership.

While Charles got their lawyers to prepare the contracts with Tristan's orders. Nicole visits her old home. She plans to bring her children to spends their stay there.

Both Nicole and Tristan is unaware that their paths was bound to cross once more with another contract that will strengthen their bond with each other.
