Lucas and I keep our hands locked as we stroll down the street, coming back from our short walk. Ellie keeps running ahead, sniffing everything she comes in contact with.
"I never knew my dad. It had always been me and my mom" I tell Lucas prior to the question he asked me.
"Aren't you going to give your mom a call?"
"I can't. It might be risking everything we've worked for you till now. If someone is actually unto me, they might trace the call." I bael. Who says I don't miss my mom. I do, everyday but I just can't call her. I would have loved for her to know I'm still alive and well but I think it's best to keep it low for now.
"If you need to talk to someone or need anything, just talk to me" Lucas gives my hand an assuring squeeze before lifting it to his mouth and kissing it.
"Thanks" I smile.
"How about do with a little sprint. First to get home first?"
