Chapter 13: loss

A bright fiery flash of blinding light hit my eyes and forced them shut as the room started shaking . The room's foundation was shaking like it had just been hit by an earthquake and the whole house came tumbling down.

I could barely focus on anything as the whole thing just happened so fast. I had her in my arms in an instance just out of a reflex . I wanted to keep her safe in my arms and away from the face of danger but deep down I knew no matter what I did she would still get hurt.

The entire room was crumbling…it was almost as if it was happening in slow motion when it was actually happening in a blink of an eye..we were all bundled up together with the literal world around us crumbling.
