Chapter 25 Strictly Forbidden

Anthony felt a tickle on the lower half of his face and peered out of his lowered eyelids. His eyes widened at the human female nestled against him. Her once-damp hair was a dried mess and was pressed against his neck and chest. Using his feet and arms he pushed her away from himself. Sophia didn't move and only whimpered a little before scooting her back against his side. After returning to the spot she was before, her unconscious protests stopped and her steady breathing returned. Anthony frowned deeply and rolled over. He followed the demon rules and his own to the tee of not getting attached to humans.

"I will never become smitten with a lowly human," he mumbled softly. Sophia's arms wrapped around his chest as her face rested against his shoulder blades. Staring out in the dark he gritted his teeth. Sophia's hands were chilled and he realized that she was probably just cold. Feeling generous he rolled back over and pulled her into his embrace to warm her.
