Her father

Lucian was in the hospital with his mother beside him. 

The woman was worried about her son's arm, so she had to send him to the VIP ward with the best doctor in the hospital. 

He needed attention. 

The heir of the Desmond's needed medical attention and the doctor had to leave whatever he was doing to come to both mother and son. 

Lucian's school shirt was taken off, and the doctor inspected the wound. 

He was treating it gently,  afraid not to provoke the big woman of the Desmond's family. 

"you were attacked by a cat?" He asked Lucian, and the boy shook his head in disagreement. He wasn't scratched by a cat, but her. 

He became sad again, while the doctor still treated his wound.

He felt a short sting on his arm, and quickly he closed his eyes, thinking it would go away.

Ans gradually, the sting turned into intense pain, as he moaned out loudly, rolling on the bed. 

The pains was felt all over the bones of his arms, 

it was extremely painful and he wished for it to go away.

 The pain began to get so intense that he felt his heart failing. He thought he was going to die. 

He screamed out in pain. 

He wished he could die to solve this pain. 

"Lucian!!" His mother called, panicking. 

"Mom! It hurts!!" He yelled, holding his shoulder in pain. 

Mrs Desmond gasped out in shock, moving back in fear. 

"Doctor!! Please, what's wrong with my son? Why is he in so much pain? An...and his arm" Mrs Desmond pointed to his arm which had huge veins all around the flesh. The left arm turned as pale like ashes, marks like strokes feom hell.  

Lucian was still screaming  out loud, holding that left arm in pain, with his teeth gritting. 

The doctor didn't know what to do. 

He was confused. 

There was no blood gushing out of the shoulder, the nurse had done a test but no fracture. Even his blood got tested, but nothing unusual. 

His arm are okay, then what is it? And why was it like this? 

Was he cursed or something? The doctor wondered, staring at Lucian, then at his mother who was still terrified.  Lucian was sweating hard, rolling on the bed in pain. 

"Doctor, do something," Mrs Desmond begged the doctor,but dared not to touch him. 

She feared the pain would get worse if she touched him. 

Finally the doctor came up with an idea. He picked up the syringe, injected some fluid in it, and injected the boy. 

And almost immediately, he calmed down. His chest was heaving, as he laid on the bed with his eyes shut. The veined-pale looking hand disappeared immediately. 

"What did that bastard do to my son?" Mrs Desmond couldn't help but yell, staring at her son on the bed.

           *a few weeks later* 

Roseline was busy working, throwing a bag refuse into the waste bin. She had her hair tied up in a ponytail, her hands were covered in thick gloves, her legs were swallowed by thick boots. 

Her body had an apron which fit her petite figure. 

She heard small noises from the other side, which made her turn her face to see what had happened. 

It was two girls giggling with their parents. The father was holding the first one, while the mother held the other girl's hand. They seem to be a happy family together. It was a beautiful sight to see.

 It got her wondering who her father was exactly? Maybe if her father was alive, everything would be normal. 

Roseline sighed softly, as she walked back into the area she was working, as a maid. 

It was no use thinking about it too much. 

*A few hours later* 

Roseline arrived home, feeling so exhausted. She hit the chair harshly, with her eyes blankly glued to the walls and her lids flapping. 

After some seconds, he mother and grandfather walked into the house, also feeling extremely exhausted. 

"Rose?" Kara called. 

Immediately, the girl hugged her mother and grandfather. 

"How are you doing today Rose?" Her mother questioned, and she nodded her head with a smile. 

"And how is work today Roseline?" Her grandfather questioned, and she answered,

"It was fine." 

"Did Mrs Allman treat you well?" Kara asked worriedly. 

"Yes mom," she nodded her head in agreement. Her mother was very against her working in someone's house.

She wanted Roseline to stay at home while she does the hard work instead. But stubborn Roseline wouldn't agree. Kara and her grandfather also had no choice but to agree with her.

"Great. So I brought home a barbequed chicken breast, you wanna try?" Kara asked, and Roseline clapped her hands in excitement. 

Kara retired in and then some minutes later, after changing, they went  outside with the barbeque on the tray. 

She dropped the tray on the table gently. Kara unwrapped the plastic around the barbeque, and dropped it on the tray. Her grandfather came to join them later, with a fork with him. 

"I am ready to eat the delicious barbeque," she said, rubbing her hands together happily. 

"Go on," she said to Roseline who couldn't wait anymore, as she made an attempt to cut the meat, the memory of this morning flashed on her mind. ' who was her father?' She suddenly stopped  not touching the meat, as she turned her head to look at her mother and grandfather. 

"What's wrong, Rose?" Kara asked her daughter worriedly. 

She doesn't seem to like that face that suddenly changed. 

"Mom, i...I..mom, who is my father?" She asked curiously, staring at her mother who stood shocked to hear the question coming out from her daughter's mouth. "Why can't he save us from all these suffering mom? I don't even know him. I can't say in particular who he is exactly." she said worriedly, as she stared at her mother, then at her grandfather. 

Her grandfather had a saddened expression as he shook his head. 

His son. 

That bastard son of his. 

Roseline doesn't mean to spoil their mood, but she was obviously curious to know who her father was exactly. That man that left the three of them alone to live and suffer all by themselves. 

"Your father rose... He is...he..." 

She saw that her mother was hesitating. 

If she doesn't want to, or is uncomfortable with the subject, then she should forget about it. 

"Mom, it's okay you don't want to tell me. I didn't mean to ruin the dinner. I was just curious. You can tell me later." she cut Kara off, forcing out a smile. 

"No, no, Rose. It's okay. I understand your curiosity. You just want to know about your father...but...(sighs) all I can tell you is that, Your father is a rich man who currently has a wife, a daughter and a son, just like you," she said and the girl nodded her head in agreement. 

Which makes her wonder why her father left them to suffer if he is a rich man. 

He even has another wife and had left her mother alone with grandfather. But why does he have to do that? Thatwas way too brutal. 

She didn't want to ask another question, as she turned her attention to the food on the tray. She doesn't want to ruin the dinner anymore, talking about the man that doesn't want them. 

"Mom, Grandpa, let's continue our dinner," she said with a smile on her face, and grandpa nodded his head, and patted his grandchild's hair. 

But his son…
