The curse

I think you all have heard the truth of the matter. That my baby is innocent and your daughter is the real culprit here. He wouldn't do such a thing to spoil his family's image."

"Lucian, why are you lying?! Why can't you just say the truth?" Roseline yelled at him angrily. She felt her blood boil, and she felt like eating him alive. She wanted to pounce on him and devour him, as he was nothing but a liar. A cheap, deceitful liar.

"So you are saying my son is lying, uh?" Mrs. Desmond asked, widening her eyes at her.

"I am not lying, mother; that's the truth," he said softly, which made Roseline more furious and eager to kill him. She felt she could murder anyone at any time, especially this boy sitting with his head bowed like he never cared. Her blood was boiling with rage as she clenched her fists in anger. Her expression, her face—everything changed drastically as she glared at him like the devil, who would soon destroy everything in no time.

"Roseline!"

Lucian lifts his head to look at Roseline in sadness. The real truth that no one knew was that he was sad. He doesn't want any of this. But he couldn't help but be selfish and think of himself alone. Instead of seeing her cry, he saw another terrifying version of the girl, which made him tremble. He then moved back in fear.

Kara had seen the quick changes in her daughter, and she immediately stood up on her feet in fear.

'No Rose,' the woman thought to herself, as she was about to make a move to stop whatever her daughter had in mind for the little boy.

Roseline didn't have time for anyone, as her mind was just on the boy and how she could possibly murder him. She didn't even know when her mother approached her. She dashed towards Lucian with speed and grabbed his left shoulder, piercing him deeply with her fingers.

"Ahhh!!!" Lucian yelled in pain. He felt a huge, excruciating pain on his left shoulder.

"Lucian!!" Mrs. Desmond screamed in horror.

Kara quickly grabbed her daughter's hand and covered her face, so no one could see this terrifying expression of hers.

Mrs. Desmond quickly grabbed her son and pulled him towards herself, only to see the extreme level of blood on his left shoulder.

"What have you done to my son?" She yelled at Roseline, whose eyes were being covered by her mother.

"That scar would be the pain of your life, Lucian. You will always be in pain unless you apologize to me. That pain will never ease until you say sorry to me." She cursed him, but Kara shook her head in disagreement. She shouldn't be cursing. Whenever her daughter placed a curse on someone, the whole Douglas family knew it would work.

"No, no, love, shhh," she said, shutting Roseline up as she felt tears flowing from her daughter's eyes. She felt sorry for her dear little daughter for going through all this. It was unfair for her. But what could they do? These people were rich, and they could do and undo. She was only given a scholarship here from her other school. She couldn't do anything, and they had no power to fight back; they just had to do what they were asked to and leave.

"Mrs. Douglas, please leave." The principal begged Kara, and both daughter and mother found their way outside the office.

Mrs. Desmond bent down to check on her son. He was in tears and also in pain. The pain felt so excruciating that he was moaning and crying at the same time.

"Oh son!! It's okay. Let's go to the hospital. I will sue both mother and daughter for doing this to the heir of Desmond." She wanted to go outside to get them, but Lucian was quick to grab her mother's hand. He knew she would worsen the situation if she did that. He had already made the girl cry. It was all his fault, and he blamed the poor girl. He shouldn't be selfish enough to watch his mother sue the innocent girl and her family.

He felt the pain on his arm vanish as he forced a smile at his mother. It was a bit surprising, as he wiped off his tears immediately.

"Mom, I am okay now. I am feeling no pain right now. Just let them go, and let it go. And let's go to the hospital to treat this. Please," he begged his mother, and the woman nodded her head in agreement.

"Okay, then, we will leave them for their pathetic lives. Let's go to the hospital, um? the woman asked, and then Lucian nodded his head in agreement. He followed his mother to the hospital for treatment.

Roseline cried her eyes out after reaching home. She had held back her tears for a long time, but she couldn't anymore. She reached for her mother, who pulled out for a tight hug.

"Rose, it's okay. I will get you admitted to another school."

"And how, mom? I know you and my grandfather work so hard every day and night just to cater to my needs and make us satisfied. And which money would you use to admit me to another school?! That boy had ruined my life and I swear, I will ruin his." she said, with tears inlife,r eyes. She had her teeth gritted in anger, and her fists were clenched together.

"Rose, Rose, that's okay, please."

Her mother squatted in front of her, patting her daughter's hair slowly. She doesn't want her daughter to flare up and say what she wasn't supposed to say, or it might become disastrous. A disaster that no one could end. She consoled her as she tried to calm her nerves. "Everything would be alright, okay? calm down."

"It's not. It's not. I don't think I will be able to get another scholarship, and I am not sure I will be going to school again, all because of him. It's not alright," she said, shaking her head, shedding so many tears.

Kara hugged her daughter tightly. She, too, had started crying. She felt the pain that her little beloved felt.

She had done nothing to deserve this. She was just an innocent and intelligent girl. Now that they were struggling and her father definitely wouldn't help her, how would she get to school? Kara closed her eyes as she allowed her tears to flow freely. On the opposite side, the little girl seems to be fuming hard. Her iris had already changed to a terrible color, and she was wishing Lucian bad luck in her heart.

"May he feel pain. It wouldn't ease; it would come back painfully, and everyone would be terrified to see him act like a mad being. Until he apologizes, he won't get freedom on his shoulder,' she cursed inwardly, with her eyes widely opened in remorse.
