Jovita's POV

“She's my younger sister, and she will be staying with us for a while”, my mom says, with a nervous smile. I can see her hands are twisted behind her. She only does that when she's anxious.

“Mom?” I call, eyeing her suspiciously. She was hiding something from me, I could tell. My mom is a terrible liar.

“I'll start dinner. Can you help me with the flour?” She headed for the kitchen cupboard, not waiting for my reply. Okay, now it's getting self-evident she's hiding something.

“Mom I…”

“Go help your mother, child”, my Mimoh's voice snapped.

I turn to stare at her, and she returns the gesture with a death glare. I'm forced to look away immediately. Mimoh can be a bit intimidating. More than a bit.

We finished cooking and sat down for dinner. After dinner, I walked to my room and immediately checked my phone to see if Jayden had texted me, but he hadn't.

I start pacing around my room worriedly. I hope he's fine. He was acting weird earlier.
