The Alpha was close to the woods with his Beta who was now walking dutifully behind him, cracking jokes to lighten the latter's mood. An Alpha's job wasn't all glory behind the scenes. Many times, the Alpha stayed late into the night handling paperwork. He'd tell the Beta to go to his worried family and continue all by himself. When he was serious, he was a workaholic.
