Aurora opened her brown eyes, but her vision was blurry, she could only see the figure of someone standing over her. "Finally, you are awake. Are you okay?" He squatted next to her, making his face vivid enough that she could identify him.

It was James, the day walker that Damien had sent to go give her blood. He had arrived right on time, and he gave her the last bags of blood which he kept in his backpack for emergencies like that. Like werewolves sometimes need the butan rose, vampires just need a little amount of human blood to jump-start their healing system.
