Chapter 17

The cold hand holding Tanya's face fell lifeless, and Lydia slumped to the ground.

Tanya stood rooted to her place as she stared at Lydia's lifeless face. Her face was already very pale, and a white foam kept coming out of her mouth.

Staring at her like that, tanya squatted down and held Lydia's face. “Mum.” She called out softly, but there was no response.

“Mum, mum, please answer me.” Tanya pleaded, the tears which were in her eyes threatened to fall, but Tanya fought back the tears. She had never cried ever since she could remember, so she tried her best not to cry.

“Please open your eyes, I forgive you for everything you did. I'll let you hug me and hold me for as long as you want. I'll never push you away again. I'll also call you Mum everything, so please open your eyes. Please.” Tanya pleaded desperately.

Perhaps, because there was no loud sound from the inside, the police officer opened the door to check what was going on.

As soon as he entered, he paused in his footsteps.
