Chapter 7

Marilyn stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window for a long time until her calf was bloated.

Only then did she turn around and walk towards her suitcase.

She opened the suitcase and hung the clothes in the closet.

Marilyn liked dresses the most!

All of them were designed on her own for herself.

They were in the style she liked.

After putting all the clothes into the closet, she put her daily necessities into the bathroom.

She prepared the clothes for the next morning after everything was done.

After taking a bath, she dried her hair. She got on the big bed which was covered with a pink bed sheet. She smiled since she liked its color.

She picked up her cellphone on the bedside table.

Unlocking the phone, she saw Roland's message.

Roland sent a voice message. "Lynn, I will stay in the Fielddell branch of my company for a month. Let's have dinner together after work tomorrow."

Marilyn smiled and replied to him.

"Roland, okay! I don't have any friends here. But why do you stay here for a month? You don't seem to have any business here recently."

Roland replied to her very soon.

"Lynn, I have my company here. I come as the president of the company. Well, you should take a rest early. I will pick you up after work tomorrow. Good night!"

Smiling, Marilyn typed the word "Good" and sent an emoji of a good night.

Then she turned to the dialog box of the general manager.

She sent a message to him.

Mr. Munoz, I've arrived in Fielddell and will go to the company on time tomorrow morning.

Julian, who had just parked his car in the underground parking lot, heard the notification sound of his phone. He looked at it and smiled. "Malcolm, the design director of the branch company has arrived in Fielddell. She will attend the meeting on time tomorrow morning."

"That's good!" Malcolm pursed his lips with a stern face. He was very serious about work.

He had been separated from his family business for a few years. In the past few years, he had risen to the business emperor with his tough methods.

He shocked the members of the board of directors who had sold their shares before.

He felt much freer now that he had left the Lowe family.

There was no need to go back to the old house to face those disgusting and hypocritical faces.

He could also look for Carolyn and his mother.

All the projects he had invested in Fielddell were good cash generators.

Malcolm had become the head of various industries nationwide.

Popular stars and young ladies of the big families all dreamed of marrying him.

Standing at the door of the Apricot Villa, which was located in the best location in Fielddell, Malcolm glanced at Julian with his deep and cold eyes.

Julian hurried to open the door.

Under Malcolm's cold glance, he entered the password.

This was not his home, but he was more familiar with the password than the owner of this villa.

Malcolm thought of Carolyn today, so Julian could only let Malcolm drink and sulk.

Malcolm threw himself into the sofa as he entered.

Only then did he take out his phone and have a look.

When he saw that there were four phone calls missed from the old house, a cold light flashed in his deep eyes.

He threw his phone on the table and stood up to take a bath.

Julian reminded Malcolm, "Malcolm, watch out! Don't get your wound wet."

Malcolm turned a deaf ear and slammed the bathroom door.

Julian shrunk his neck in fright. He thought that Malcolm had a bad temper.

Julian hoped that Carolyn would appear in front of Malcolm when Malcolm woke up so that he wouldn't live a bitter life anymore.

The morning sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling window, illuminating the room.

The horns of the cars in the morning were noisy.

Slowly opening her eyes, Marilyn grabbed her cellphone and had a look.

It was eight o'clock and it was not late.

She woke up on time and never stayed in bed.

Getting out of bed, Marilyn walked to the bathroom.

After washing up, she put on light makeup, but the lipstick was in the style of a queen.

Her light makeup made her more beautiful and charming with her good skin.

The professional suit, the white shirt, and the black skirt she wore set her figure off.

Marilyn took the black leather handbag aside and held the materials needed for today's meeting. She went to the door and put on her black high heels.

She looked mature and reserved, exuding the aura of a professional at work.

Opening the door with a confident smile, she walked out.

There were twenty-five floors in the headquarters of the Lowe Group.

The company arranged her position early in the morning.

She entered the company and went to the front desk to get her card. After clocking in, she entered the elevator and went to the twenty-fifth floor.

She took over the position of Hannah who was the former design director.

She would be responsible for designing only and didn't need to bother herself with other issues.

Only chief executives could take the elevator that Marilyn was taking.

Just as the elevator door was about to close, it was opened again. A woman in a white dress walked in. The woman had exquisite makeup and a slim figure. She was like a blooming white lotus, dignified and beautiful, untainted by dust.

Marilyn smiled at the woman politely.

However, the woman looked at her disdainfully and lowered her head to look at her phone.

Marilyn didn't mind. Those who could take this elevator were all chief executives.

She would stay here for a month and then return to Goldmere. It would be helpful for her to get along well with people here.

They reached the twenty-fifth floor. Neither of them said a word. The woman kept her head down and played with her phone.

The decoration of the twenty-fifth floor was luxurious.

The two plants at the door grew well.

The woman in white walked out of the elevator before Marilyn.

She walked straight towards the president's office.

Marilyn didn't care much. She walked towards the secretary who was doing preparations.

The secretary of the Lowe Group was a handsome man.

Malcolm had also tried to find a female secretary. However, every female secretary wanted to sleep with him, so he could only ask his good buddy to be his secretary.

When the woman in white walked straight over, the secretary, Sergio Bowman, stopped the woman in white. "Miss Remington, where are you going?"

Sergio was tall in a white shirt and a pair of black trousers. He had a handsome face with short and clean hair. He had determined and sharp eyes. He didn't look ordinary. He appeared elegant and gentle.

Velma Remington raised her head to look at Sergio. She asked with confusion, "Mr. Bowman, I came to look for Malcolm. What's the matter?" Velma said with a gentle voice and a soft smile.

Sergio frowned and said, "Miss Remington, Mr. Lowe is going to have a meeting. He won't see anyone now."

Sergio didn't show much respect to Velma.

Velma frowned and looked displeased.

Staring coldly at Sergio, she said tartly, "Mr. Bowman, mind your attitude to me. I'll be the president's wife."

Sergio spread his hands and smiled. His eyes were filled with disdain as he mocked, "I suggest that you should say this only when you become the president's wife."
