I had a long dream last night, so peaceful I didn’t want to wake up—and when I finally did, I couldn’t remember any of it.

Why do I always forget? I wondered as I yawned. Caroline was already awake next to me, looking at me curiously.

“Who’s Mr. Ghost?” she asked, full of curiosity.

“Where’d you hear that?” I replied, confused. I didn’t remember ever mentioning Mr. Ghost to her.

“You kept saying that name in your sleep. Were you having a nightmare?” she asked with innocent eyes and a worried voice.

“A nightmare?” I echoed. She nodded, and I couldn’t help but smile. “If I was dreaming about Mr. Ghost, then it couldn’t have been a nightmare. Ghosts are usually scary, but Mr. Ghost isn’t like that.”

She didn’t ask anything else—just smiled sweetly. She seemed to be trying to picture a friendly ghost, which wasn’t exactly easy. I grabbed my phone to check the time and was surprised to see it was almost 10 a.m.

“Have you been up long?” I asked Caroline, a bit worried. Any later and we’d be

  • Destiny: The Alpha Heir   Chapter 100

It was a cloudy morning, and the cool breeze was enough to make any regular human throw on a jacket. It was my training time. After a round of warm-up exercises, I started striking thicker branches in my semi-human form. The improvement in my skills in that form was obvious. The diameter of the branches I could break kept getting bigger, and all the movement I needed to reach them up high was getting faster and more fluid.Sweat dripped down my face as I stepped back into the house. I checked my phone one more time before hopping in the shower. There was a message from Annie: “Girl, it’s way past time you came to see my new place. I planned a dinner at 7 p.m. with the band crew. Don’t miss it!”“Well, that wasn’t on my schedule…” I muttered to myself. After a quick shower, I popped my lunch in the microwave and scrolled through Lisa’s profile to get more familiar with it. Among the accounts I followed, there were a lot of influencers and celebrities. But in the middle of all of them,

If I said that William and Lorraine dating didn’t affect me, that’d be a damn lie. I couldn’t fool my wolf’s feelings, and I sure as hell couldn’t go back in time and stop myself from coming to Siram and meeting him.I cried most of the night, curled up in the Mysterious Man’s cloak. Wrapped in that cloak, I sought comfort—the sense that someone was there, that I wasn’t alone, that everything would be okay. I just wanted to sleep for a bit, to find a moment of peace, but I couldn’t. I gave up trying and forced myself to run. The pain wasn’t going anywhere, no matter how much I cried. The rushing water—that place that had become my sanctuary—was exactly where I needed to be.“Mr. Mysterious, were you waiting for me?” After a week apart, he was there—on the exact day I said I’d come back. “You have no idea how much I worked during that trip…”I started telling him everything that had happened while I was gone—the good and the bad. I didn’t have secrets from him anymore, and opening up a

As I walked briskly across the parking lot, William suddenly stepped in front of me, blocking my path. Though he tried to keep a calm expression in front of Caroline, the intensity in his eyes and his clenched fists betrayed the anger he was trying to suppress.“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend?” William asked, a hint of malice in his voice.“He’s not my friend, just a coworker,” I said, setting Caroline down on the ground.“Is he a model too? Doesn’t look like one.”“No, he’s not a model! He was just part of the team.”“Then why were you running from him like that? What are you hiding from me?” William stepped closer, stopping just inches from me. His rigid stance and intense stare radiated authority and accusation, like he’d already made up his mind.“He’s telling the truth! Auntie introduced me to him at work,” Caroline jumped in, trying to defend me. William grabbed the keys and unlocked the car.“Caroline, get in the car. Eliza and I need to talk for a bit, okay?”

We had lunch at the food court and then headed to the movies to pick a film. I let Caroline choose, and she went for an adventure movie over an animated one. William offered to buy the tickets—probably figuring that if I did it, I’d pick his seat as far away from mine as possible. He was absolutely right. I totally would’ve.“Let’s go!” he called, walking up to us with a bucket of popcorn in hand. He handed it to Caroline before we entered the theater. While she was distracted with the popcorn, William boldly placed one hand on my back as we walked to our seats.“I’m sitting in the middle,” William told Caroline.“But then I won’t be next to Auntie,” she complained.“Do you want to sit next to your brother or your aunt?” William asked seriously.“Why does she have to choose?” I cut in. “She should sit in the middle—then she can be next to both of us.” It was the best way to keep William away from me.“No way! I want to know who she’d rather sit with. You or me!” William was being stub

“Eliza, time to get up!” Liliane’s voice was insistent. It was my sixth day in Heington, and I was so exhausted I didn’t even want to get out of bed.“Haven’t you sucked enough of my life force already? I’m gonna die young at this rate,” I muttered, rolling over to the other side.“Caroline’s waiting for you to have breakfast. You’re really gonna let her starve?”“That’s just low!” I groaned, sitting up in bed and stretching. With an argument like that, there was no way I wasn’t getting up.I yawned nonstop while eating breakfast. Liliane walked me through the morning schedule, which mostly involved filming more Lisa Answers videos. I’d already gone through hundreds of messages over the past few days to pick out some more questions. The last takes for Lisa Answers went off without a hitch, and just as I was celebrating that we were finally done, Liliane completely ruined the vibe.“What are you doing?” I asked as she grabbed my phone, asking me to unlock it and whining about how I had
