3 Where am I?

I opened my eyes and I was in someone’s bedroom. Red wallpaper with flowers decorated the walls and a low light shone through the room. The bed was huge with a canopy above the bed. I sit up and brush the hair out of my face. Everything that happened yesterday came back to me. I take a deep breath and wonder what is going to happen next. 

 I grab my bag that has been left at the side of the bed and take out my hairbrush. Thanks to Ashers running my hair is a mess, I take my time brushing my long brown hair (wishing for once that it was a lot shorter), while trying to clear my head. I then dare to make my way out of the room, I go down a narrow corridor that leads to the top of a grand staircase. I slowly go down the steps listening out to hear if anyone is there. 

 The next second Asher is stood in front of me “I thought you were sleeping”

 “I was but when I woke up I couldn’t get back to sleep as I need to know more of what is going on.”

 “You said if I came with you, you would give me some answers?”

 “I did and I will. Why don’t we go sit down? This is going to take a while, there will be a lot for you to take in.”

 We make our way into the living room where a large white couch sits in the middle of a black carpet. We sit down and he begins.

 “A lot of years ago a prophecy was written that a day would come when creatures of darkness would awaken, and they would gradually start hunting the people on earth, until they no longer existed and darkness would rule. Another prophecy was written that a girl would be born that would be able to withstand all the powers that are needed to be able to defeat this darkness”.

 “For weeks we have been searching for you with the clues that have been left within the prophecy. The girl will have no living relative.”

 At the mention of my parents death I had to hold the tears down.

 “The girl will bear a scare the shape of a bow and arrow”.

 “They will be born in the month of June and their name will begin with a K”. 

 Ok so all of these things linked to me but is there no other girl in the world that had all these things also? I thought

 I asked “ when you said withstand all the powers needed to get rid of them what did you mean? I don’t have any powers”.

 “Not yet you don’t, there are four groups of powers and you must claim a part of them all, to do this someone from each area of power must give over theirs and sacrifice it to you, you will then be able to channel all of these and use them”.

 “what , what are the groups?” I hardly dare ask

 “The Vampires which you already know of, the witches, the elves and the wolves”.

 “Hang on a second there are witches, wolves and elves? How does no one know about them? Am I meant to meet all these creatures? How am I meant to take their powers? How am I meant to know how to do all this?”

 “ calm down one question at a time, we keep to ourselves if humans knew about us there would be a mass panic, humans don’t like what is different from them, they write about vampires and wolves been evil when we are the same as humans we can be really good and kind or we can be evil just like humans, it’s the same with the wolves”. 

 I tried to take in what he was saying and that did make sense, most people wouldn’t take knowing about these creatures very well. 

“Ok I understand that part I think, so what about the powers?” 

 “They will sacrifice their powers to you through four different rituals, you will then need to train with these powers before getting the next one and even then you must learn how to control them all together as using too much as once can be catastrophic, for you and for others around you”. 

 “ What powers exactly am I meant to get?” I enquire

“ We do not know, we don’t know how this works either, you could either get the exact powers from the people that sacrifice them to you, or they could change or mix once you have received them”.

 “So let me get this right, I am meant to let four creatures pass on their powers to me? While also not knowing what is actually going to happen to me? And then I need to be trained in all these powers?”

 “Yes that is accurate.”

 “You expect me to just accept all this, change my life forever, accept powers that we don’t even know what they are going to be, all because I am having bad dreams and there were big dogs in my garden?”

 Asher paused for a few minutes before he calmly answered

 “As I have already shown you creatures exist that you were unaware of, these dreams are part of the prophecy, also it is not a case of we expect you to change your life, we need you to, me and the rest of the world.”

 “Will I be able to get a look at this prophecy?” 

“When times are dark and the dark arises, 

One will rise that can hold the power.

The one will combine and become the power of five.

A mark of a bow and arrow will be placed upon the skin, 

She will be alone, with no family to speak.

She will be born under the moon of June. 

Once the power is complete,

In a blinding light she will defeat.”

I sat there just blinking rapidly. I guess I can’t say that, that doesn't describe me.
