That morning was rainy. It was early spring and even though the weather was unseasonably cold, the whole city was different. There were flowers on the trees and some blown to the ground because of the recurring rain and windy weather that week.

- What are you thinking?

The voice made Will turn away from the window. He watched his friend enter his office without asking permission, but decided not to remind him that he had to knock before entering just because of the extra cup in Rey's hand.

He needed caffeine.

- I was just noticing that it was raining. I hadn't realized.

- Practically all night.

Rey replied and held out the coffee cup for Will.

- It's hard for you to notice anything, you live with your face buried in your computer.

Rey was not wrong. Will was very obsessed with his work and especially with the criminal organization that had marked his past and ended his life!

Will rolled his eyes.

- What else could I do? I don't have many friends besides you. And sometimes I don't even want to be near you.

Rey laughed at his friend's remark, then sat down in the chair in front of Will's desk.

- Go out with someone, go on a date...

- Dating? What a joke.

Will had no time for distractions and girlfriends mean just that, distraction. Also, it's not like he was a "free" man.

- It's not a joke. Spring has started, soon we will have women with their legs out and festivals. Peter asked me to go to a music festival, shall we go together? Three bachelors and, in the middle of spring and in the best phase of life.

Best phase of life? Rey lived in a very different world from Will.

- I don't have time for this.

- Just tell me you'll think about it, man. Go on, you love music. You played guitar in high school.

- That was a long time ago. And you know I'm not single and I have bigger responsibilities than you.

Rey smiled and shook his head positively.

- Okay. I'll say no more, you spoilsport. So, shall we go?

- Where to?

Will stared at his friend without understanding. He was in his office preparing reports with coffee in hand. He had nothing better to do or a better place to be at the moment.

- Today is David's birthday. They are having a meeting in the break room. All the women from the department will be there.

Rey waggled her eyebrows and Will rolled his eyes.

- You should stop sleeping with our co-workers.

Will stared at his computer, but knew that Rey wouldn't hear him. He was an incorrigible pervert.

- And speaking of coworkers, is Morgana single?

At that moment Will looked up, staring at his friend and forgetting about the computer.

- Don't even think about it.

- Come on, you can't tell me you didn't find her beautiful? The woman is capable of messing with any man's head.

Will couldn't deny it. Morgana had beautiful eyes and they seemed to be full of secrets. He could see this when she buttoned the buttons of his shirt and held herself close.

- The agency took too long to send an efficient secretary, who was not as messy as Deise and who would help me with the craziness of the job. And when they do, you want to break her heart?

Rey started to laugh, pretending to be offended.

- Why do you think I would do that?

- Because you sleep with all the women who cross your path and forget about them afterwards. You are forbidden to do this to Morgana!

Will gave the order with a raised finger.

- Okay, okay. Well, if you won't go, then I will. I'll tell David you said congratulations.

- You do that.

Will answered and went back to staring at the computer. Rey stopped holding the doorknob, looking at his friend and letting out a sigh.

- You're obsessed with them.

- I am!

- I hope you know you're giving up your life because of it.

Will raised his eyes to his friend, looking very serious.

- What life will I have if I don't arrest every one of them? You know what they did to me.

- I know. I'm only worried about you.

- You bet I know what I'm getting into.

Rey laughed, then left the office. Will was too stubborn.

(...)

Morgana managed to reschedule Will's appointments, because as he said, he got in the way and ended up scheduling one on top of the other. He even scheduled two meetings on the same day and time.

Because of this, she went to his office and knocked twice. Soon Will told her to come in.

She had been working undercover in the department for three days and had already been to a birthday "party," cleaned up a messy desk, and caught two or three staring at her ass. She wore a skirt and a dress shirt with heels every day, but she had been thinking about changing her style, otherwise she would let her anger speak louder and the real and cruel Morgana would take over her actions and tear the eyes of those indiscreet policemen.

She walked through the door, seeing Will staring at his computer. The first thing he noticed were his tired, deep-set eyes. His hair was messy and his shirt was open. Again.

- Sir, I-

- God, leave this gentleman alone. Call me Will.

He said quickly, smiling.

- Will, okay. I was going to reschedule the appointments you made for today, since they are scheduled for the same time. I would like to know which one you will be attending.

- The most urgent.

Morgana reads from the tablet’s agenda.

- Commissioner Jeffords or the Chief of Special Operations.

That mattered to Morgan, because any sign of a break-in at the headquarters she would have to call Daryl and let him know in time.

Will grimaced in pain.

- Bob or Rick. Which one am I more willing to put up with?

He joked, leaning back in his chair.

- The Commissioner is someone important.

Morgana tries to help him decide.

- Yes, but I already know what Bob wants to talk to me about. On the other hand, I have no idea what Rick wants and I am afraid that he will give me more trouble. Or shorten my deadline.

“Shorten the deadline.” Morgana didn’t quite understand what that meant, but she deduced it to be to catch her fellow mobsters. And her!

- Who should I call to reschedule, Will?

He ended up finding it interesting that his name came out of Morgana’s lips.

- Next week I will deal with the commissioner.

Morgana just makes na “ok” in her diary and leaves. Will, who was still leaning back in his chair, observes the elegant gait of his new secretary, even her attractive curves.

When she walked through the door, he lets out a sigh.

- Wow, what na ass...

She breathed a sigh of relief and went back to analyzing the contents of her computer. Luke had left a lot of interesting stuff behind and was giving it his full attention.

(...)

- What do we have?

Rick asked as soon as Will sat down in the chair across from his desk, hoping that the detective had found some clues.

Will turned the computer to Rick. Both shared the leadership of the task force and carried the same mission: to put na end to the criminal organization that had been supplying drugs and weapons to bigger criminals.

Na evil pyramid that detonated Will’s life.

- I mapped out some e-mail addresses. Luke was good at hiding the tracks of those fuckers, which is why it has taken so long. But here it is, na address.

- Their headquarters?

- Apparently just a bar. That must be where Luke made all the transactions from. Maybe we can find something there, but...

- I’ll put someone there.

- Put who? We’re out of people to work undercover on this case. Only the two of us have worn ourselves out with this shit.

Will ended up sighing and rubbing his hand over his face.

The task force was a ghost formation in the department. Rick and Will were the only ones working to find the organization, and if they found any leads, the captain would assemble the team to do the ambush. Three times they went, and only the last time they succeeded. Which was when they executed Luke and obtained the documents on his laptop.

So Rick smiled.

- I’ve been thinking about getting someone to help you with this. You’re in the department a lot and you need someone in the field. What do you think of Peter Scoot?

Will just shrugged, with a satisfied look on his face.

- He’s great. Will you send Peter undercover?

- That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Let’s get these bastards!
