Something Got Killed

Arya did not expect to meet a demon in the cave who would give everything for her. But Arya had to pay dearly. Once the young man broke the agreement, his life was at stake.

Her mind was spinning. He considered all the possibilities if he had to make a deal with Asura. But he had a very urgent need. Arya could become rich overnight. He would no longer have to struggle to grow corn, vegetables, or pick medicinal plants and mushrooms. His younger brother; Raka Caraka could also get the education he wanted in the royal capital.

"What are you asking for? Tell me everything." Arya Santanu made his choice. He chose to listen to all the contents of the agreement first.

"I am a general-level demon from hell. One day, I was betrayed by my brothers. They chose to stay with the humans and help them achieve their goals. Unfortunately, humans are stupid. The war that happened 100 years ago was the result of my thirteen demon brothers. We managed to silence the enemy kingdom and liberate the territory that was originally five small kingdoms. Yes... you're right. The kingdoms that exist today were formed from our contributions in past battles." Asura explained everything.

The war 100 years ago was finally won by a king. He befriended one of the demons named Maghanada Indrajit. He was the leader of thirteen demon generals from hell. Together with his twelve brothers, he gave victory to the king of Nuswapala; Aji Kala Karna.

But the enemy kingdom in Swarnadwipa did not sleep. Today the combat power of the great kingdom of Swarnapala is at the same level as Nuswapala. No one knows, but it is likely that a great war will happen again in the future if Swarnapala asks the Gods for help.

"Then what do you want. Don't linger." He realized that he would suffer the consequences of his agreement with the demon Asura.

"Help me to kill my thirteen brothers. If you help me, I will give you whatever you want. But... you can only ask for one wish. So, think carefully." Asura had spelled out what he wanted in the agreement.

A price that was arguably difficult to achieve. Arya was basically not a knight. How could he possibly win against the Nuswapala king and the thirteen demons?

"Have you gone mad?! How could I kill them all? I am just a poor corn farmer. I don't have the strength to hunt, fight or even kill them all." Arya Santanu was so worried.

"Don't be insecure. I will enter your body. After that, you can use my power to fight them all. Remember, I am very strong." Asura smiled.

"If you can kill them, why do you need me?" Arya Santanu asked.

"Because I have no form in this world. The demons are forbidden to live in this world. Therefore, I or my brothers use a human vessel to live in this world. This means that they are currently disguising themselves as humans, taking human bodies, or making deals like I am doing now to stay alive in the world." Asura saw Arya Santanu's disbelief. The young man still looked hesitant to make a deal with him.

"If you help, then my task is not too difficult. Okay, I agree. My request is—," Arya Santanu's words were suddenly cut off.

"That's all. I will give you time to think about your request later. But for now, I just want to make an unbreakable contract with you. That contract will be proof that we are both bound to each other in this agreement, how about it? Are you ready?" Asura seemed to be grinning.

Arya Santanu's mind was in turmoil. The two choices in his mind—yes or no—seemed to be at war with each other. He could not answer Asura's question quickly. But suddenly, Arya Santanu became confused when he saw Asura sticking his ear to the cave wall. He smiled happily, like he was listening to something. He even glared and kept staring at the wall.

"What did you hear? What did you see?" Arya Santanu was curious.

"This is interesting... you know, there is a village not far from this cave that is being attacked by a group of bandits. I recognize that flag. It uses one of my brother's symbols." Asura was very excited when he learned that there were bandits who worshiped one of his brothers.

"What?!" Arya Santanu was surprised.

There was no village so close to the cave, except his own. Without thinking about the demon, Arya immediately ran so fast that he fell to the ground. The only thing he thought about at that moment was her younger brother; Raka Caraka. He ran through the tall bushes without any light. Her brain seemed to remember all the roads in the forest. He just walked as usual without looking at a map or directions.

"This can't be ...."

Arya Santanu looked straight ahead. From a distance, he saw a puff of black smoke soaring high. More than ten points of black smoke were visible to his eyes. Shouts, screams and laughter that broke the night, sounded loud in Arya's ears. Without thinking, he ran straight to his village.

Suddenly a spear flew towards her. He realized the spear and quickly dodged it. But a deep wound was left on his right arm. Unfortunately, he did not mind the wound. He continued to run and lunged at several bandits who swung swords at her.

DAK!!!

The young man's fist hit one of the bandits in the face. Arya had completely lost his temper. He entered a medium-sized house. The house was left behind by her parents. Her eyes glanced into every room. He was looking for his younger brother.

BRAK!!!

The door was forced open by some bandits. They forcefully pulled Arya Santanu out. His body was kicked and pushed until he fell to the ground. Among the bandits standing in front of her, someone approached her holding a boy. He pulled the boy's hair. Arya clearly heard the boy's screams and cries for mercy.

"Raka?!"

"Raka!"

Arya Santanu shouted loudly after seeing his younger brother being treated like an animal. He was furious when Raka was pushed to the ground. His chest was stepped on by one of the bandits. Raka tried to hold him up, but he was starting to have trouble breathing.

"Stop... please stop! He's just a child!" Arya Santanu tried to get up, but he was hit by a spear handle and fell back down. She shouted again, but her loud voice was not enough to warn the bandits.

"Pathetic! You are so pathetic!" The bandit who stepped on Raka laughed for a moment. Then he continued to stomp on the boy's chest repeatedly.

Raka was already breathing and coughing.

"Brother ...."

A soft voice came out of the 12-year-old boy's mouth. He turned to his brother. Tears ran down his cheeks and fell to the ground. Arya was shocked when a long spear plunged into her brother's chest.

Raka Caraka's voice instantly stopped.

Raka's voice instantly stopped. His mouth opened as if he wanted to say something, but Arya Santanu heard nothing. Not long after, fresh blood flowed from Raka's mouth. The sound of laughter echoed loudly in Arya Santanu's ears. The bandits cheered and rejoiced at the murder they had just committed. Under the flag they worshipped, Raka died in a cruel way.

"You...."

"I... will definitely kill you ...."

"Don't expect... you can run and hide."

"Asura... I already know what to ask of you."

Asura was present behind Arya Santanu. He revealed himself in the form of a red flame and was built like a burly man with fangs and two horns. Behind his back were four giant open hands. And in all four palms were eyes that stared at the bandits.

"What do you want?”
