LISA’S POV

I woke up alone.

The other side of the bed (Andre's side), was cold and empty.

The sheets were too smooth like they hadn't been laid on.

I sat up slowly.

I didn’t know where he had slept last night, but it clearly wasn’t next to me.

I reached for my robe and slipped it on.

I hadn’t seen Diane since she arrived yesterday.

He had taken her straight upstairs, into that room he once told me to never go near. That door had stayed closed for as long as I had lived here.

I used to think maybe it was an office, or a storage room. Now I knew better.

I made my way toward the kitchen.

The closer I got, the more I picked up a warm wonderful scent.

Coffee.

He always made it for me in the mornings. It had become our usual early morning routine. Something I never had to ask for.

When I stepped in, he was standing near the counter.

His back was to me.

He was watching the machine drip. His hair was still slightly wet from a shower, his shirt open at the top.

“Good morning,” I said.

LISA’S POVIt was late.I walked out to the garden.I wore these fluffy house slippers that looked too cute, and a sweater was on my shoulders. My dress was too thin for the cool night air, but the sweater helpedAnd honestly?I didn’t care. I wasn’t even sure I was allowed to be out here, but no one had said otherwise. There was a limit to how many places Andre wanted me to be in and I was really tired of being holed up in my room since I couldn't sleep.I walked to the garden, my fingers touching a few petals. They were wet with dew. I leaned closer to a white flower. It looked interesting. I was crouched there, brushing the petal, when I heard a low voice.“No, Henry, we already voted. We are not changing anything now.”I froze.I heard the sound of footsteps, I turned. And there was Andre.I gasped. He stood on the path I had just strolled from into the garden, with his phone in his ear. He looked like he had just gotten back from work. His tie was loose, and his sleeves

DIANE’S POVDELULU PRINCESSThree fucking years in that white-walled hell they called a "treatment center." Daddy's little secret stashed away where no one would find his murderous daughter. Treatment. What a joke. They wanted me to talk about my feelings about what I'd done. As if I'd ever apologize when that bitch had it coming. But Daddy couldn't have his precious socialite daughter ruining his reputation, could he? They say the mind protects you from what it can’t handle. That’s what the doctor used to tell me in the facility. But he was wrong. My mind didn’t protect me. It remembered everything.Three years ago, I was standing on the terrace outside Andre’s apartment. It was late, maybe midnight. I remember the way the lights of the city looked to me like a thousand fake stars. I was angry. He was angry. The fight had gone too far.“You can’t just disappear when something doesn’t go your way, Diane.”“You think I’m dramatic, but you’re blind. Everyone in this house lies to

CHAPTER SEVEN Andre’s POV The second I saw her in that doorway, barefoot, her skin like fucking paper in that hospital gown, my heart stopped. Diane. This was not a ghost. It was not a dream. It was her. In flesh. Some part of my brain shut down. The part that cared about the noise, the party, the music, the ring on Lisa’s hand… all of it went quiet. It was Diane. Or something like her. She looked thinner. Pale. Like she hadn’t eaten in days. Hair was tangled and her arms trembling. But those eyes? Those were hers. No copy could replicate that look. Then she said my name. “Andre…” And hit the floor. I don’t remember shouting. But I must’ve. Someone called 911. The crowd backed off, someone pulled out a phone, Elijah barked at them to put it away. I dropped to my knees. I held her face and checked her breath, trying so damn hard not to panic. She was cold. I told the paramedics to be fast or I'll kill them. When they came, they as

LISA’S POVThe entire room became frozen. What just happened? I wondered…Just minutes ago, I was having the time of my life, being proposed to by the man of my dreams, surrounded by beautiful people, good music and champagne. People I had come to know from Andre's circle were smiling at me and the ladies, which I never seemed to get along with, were looking at me with jealousy. Now all of it has ended with the appearance of a stranger in a hospital gown. Andre had just put the ring onto my finger. It still felt cold. Now, all that was a distant memory. All I could see now was a strange woman that looked soaringly like me gasping for breath as paramedics lifted her limp body off the floor. Why did she look like me?What was going on?Andre ran over to her as soon as she walked in and had not said a word to me since then. He kept pacing and nagging the EMTs while they checked her pulse, and kept murmuring her name… Diane. He had never looked at me like that. It almost seemed as thoug

SIX MONTHS LATERLisa’s POVA lot of things had changed in the past six months.Around this time, I had woken up in a hospital room, not having any memory or clue as to what my name was.But now, the world called me Lisa, the girlfriend of the one and only Andre DeLuca... heir to the DeLuca conglomerate. A successful man, a leader, and most eligible bachelor.I didn’t remember who I was before. But I had a name and a life now.Andre had made sure of that, and I was extremely grateful. The media called me many things, because they all felt I came out of nowhere or that I was probably from a poor home.I'd learned how to dress the part of a billionaire's girlfriend, walk like it, and smile at random people. My photos were also on several society blogs. My name is spoken by all and sundry, mostly by ladies in jealousy, wishing they were me and faking smiles when they saw me to act like they were friends with me.And through it all, I stayed by Andre’s side.I knew the scent of his cologn
