Part 1: Chapter 23

The Estate’s entrance seems to have moved again. Nikolai says that the witches move the entry every month even though no one on the outside can enter or find the community unless one of the brothers invites them in.

I still can’t believe the Alpha is 40 and yet looks so young. Oh, to be a Volkov and not age past 28 when unmated. I doubt I would be happy, though; I already look older than Nikolai.

We come to a stop in front of the Volkov mansion, and Nikolai opens the door for me. He then laces his fingers with mine and walks me inside. I’m excited, but the nerves are coiling my insides, and I feel like I might just vomit.

“Hey,” Nikolai says, stopping in front of the large oak door. “Are you okay?”

“Yes,” I nod. “I’m just nervous.”

He smiles at me and cups my face in his hands. “I understand, but just know that they’re all excited to see you again.” He says, then plants a soft kiss on my forehead and lips.

I breathe out a sigh. “Okay. I promise I’m fine; I just haven’t seen anyon
