Chapter 9

Unice's PoV

The only strange thing is that Ace used to stay away from me to eat in his room; why has he changed his behavior? I drank the water in the bottle after I finished eating. I rested first after finishing because I had just finished eating.

"Will you try to flee again?" To my surprise, Ace asked.

"Do I appear to be planning another escape?" When I asked Ace, he lowered his spoon and fork, indicating that he had finished eating.

"Yeah, you'll flee again," Ace said, and I laughed.

"You're hilarious, Ace!" I told Ace, and we both laughed until he stood up.

"Thank you for the food. The curry you made was delicious," Ace said, and I nodded.

"If you still need your things, tell me; so you won't run away just to get what you want," Ace said while smiling.

"Yes, I'll just tell you," I said to Ace as he exited the living room.

I stood up and took my plate, then went into the kitchen and saw Ace washing his plate.

"I'm going to wash it," I said to Ace, and he looked at me and extended his hand.

"I'll wash that," Ace said, and I handed him my plate, which he grabbed, and I was about to leave when he spoke.

"Do you like games?" Ace inquired to me.

"Yes, but it's just puzzle games and racing cars," I replied, and Ace wiped his hand after he finished washing.

"I'll give you something because I know you're bored here in my house," Ace said, and I followed him but did not enter his room.

I waited for Ace to come out, and when he did, he had a Ps4 pro, Ps5 digital edition, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and a gaming laptop which surprised me.

"Are you sure you'll lend this all to me? Perhaps that is significant to you," I informed Ace, then followed him into the living room.

"I can only use it once when I'm bored, but I have a lot of different games here as long as you don't open my account because I'm at a high level with others," Ace explained, and I nodded.

"You can use the Ps4, Ps5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and the Gaming laptop when you're bored," Ace said to me.

"You can also invite me to play; I'm available every day," Ace said, and I smiled.

"Let's try to play now," I suggested, and Ace grinned.

"What will we use, Ps4? PS5? XBOX? Nintendo Switch? Or the Gaming laptop?" Ace said to me while choosing a console that we would use.

"Let us use the ps5," I said, and Ace grabbed the controller of the ps5 and turned on the console.

"Do you mean to challenge me? Perhaps you will shout there solely for the sake of the game?" I shook my head and laughed because I laughed at Ace for what he said.

"Let's pick a game," I said to Ace, and I grabbed the ps5 controller, as did he, but he turned on the vast LCD tv first.

Ace first joined when I saw that the name of our game was Streets of Rage 4, and he was the one who taught me how to choose a character and fight.

"Did you get it?" I nodded when Ace asked.

"I'm not that stupid, to never learn this game!" When we finished selecting a character, I told him, and Ace began our game.

Ace just calmly played while we were playing, and I was the only one trying to harsh him when he played, so maybe he is laughing in his mind.

"I'm not sure how that happened! I have a stronger kick than you!" When I heard Ace laugh, I sighed and became enraged.

"I told you you'd be noisy when the two of us play," Ace said to me, and I gave him a severe look.

"One more," I challenged Ace, and he grinned.

When we started playing again, we chose a new character; while playing, I distracted Ace to win, and he just laughed and laughed.

"You're hilarious! What are you thinking? You're a cheater!" Ace told me, and I laughed as well because the battle was over, and I was the winner.

I jumped for joy because I had finally won, but Ace was also deceitful because he was strong, and he wouldn't even be a gentleman to me if he wasn't strong.

"Have you had a bath yet? Don't you take a bath every night?" Ace asked me when we were done playing, and he put away the PS5 controller.

"I'll take a bath. Are you going to bathe also? So I can take a quick bath," I said to Ace.

"I'll just do it later," Ace said to me, and I nodded.

I went back to my room, and when I walked in, I couldn't help but smile; I was nervous and scared before, but that's all gone now. Ace appears to be attempting to become close friends with me; it is acceptable for me to be friends with him if I am not hurt.

I grabbed my pink pajamas and grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. I exited the room and went directly to the bathroom, where I turned on the light and placed my toothbrush and toothpaste.

I removed my clothes and then took a shower, shampooed, and used soap. I was surprised when I finished because I had heard footsteps and was nervous.

"Is that you, Ace?" I asked, but no one said anything. I used to think his house was creepy because I could hear footsteps, but now I won't ask who it is because it might answer when I ask.

When I finished my bath, I dressed and exited the bathroom. I returned to my room and was surprised when my phone rang, so I went there. My eyes widened as I suddenly had a signal, but wait, is he the one who caused why I don't have a signal?

I walked out of the room, and a slew of messages appeared. All of it was my friends; will I still respond to them? Ace seems to be showing me that he trusts me simply because I play games with him earlier.

I pressed the delete all because I was concerned when Ace was apprehended; I'm not sure why; I'll d******d the game to my phone and remove my sim card. I returned to my room, but before I could enter, I heard Ace's voice.

"Does your signal good?" When Ace asked, I turned to face him.

"So you're the one who caused the signal to go out?" I inquired Ace.

"Yes, I am using a jamming device, but I bring it back so you wouldn't run away again," Ace said as he returned to his room.

I went to my room, sat on my bed, and checked my phone. When Zoey called, I was surprised, but I pressed 'decline.' I couldn't talk to her because she would know what had happened to me, and I didn't want her to be concerned.

I visited the G****e Play store and downloaded my previous game. After that, I placed my phone on top of the drawer and grabbed a blanket because it was cold tonight. I tried to sleep by closing my eyes, but I couldn't, so I picked up my phone and finished downloading my game.

I closed my eyes and placed my phone back at the top of the drawer.

The following day, I awoke to the sound of my phone vibrating, and when I looked at it, I saw that Zoey had called me again. I declined it again, and when I removed the sim card, I turned off my phone and placed it in the drawer when I got up.

I exited my room and went to the kitchen, where I was surprised to find a sandwich ready on the table, which I accepted, as well as notes from Ace.

Eat this before you do the laundry.

I laughed because I knew I would do my laundry today, so I sat in the chair and began eating. When I finished eating, I made coffee, and while I was making coffee, I looked out the window.

When I finished my coffee, I went back to my room to get ready for my bath this morning, and I dressed in shorts and a black shirt.

I took my dirty clothes as well as my shorts and pajamas, left the room, and went to Ace's room, where I knocked on the door for a long time before he opened it.

"These are my clothes; I'll buy something else later; perhaps you'd like to come along?" Ace inquired to me.

"What are you going to purchase?" I inquired Ace.

"My clothes and your clothes also," Ace explained to me.

"But I had enough clothes," I told Ace.

"It's not enough for me; just come with me," Ace said as he shut the door.

I took him clothes in the basket and went to the kitchen because the washing machine was nearby.
