"Mummyyy!!!" Maya and Mason both screamed as I got into the house. They jumped on me at the same time, and with the little power I had, I used it to hold both of them so they wouldn't fall. A chuckle was elicited from my lips as I kissed them both on their cheeks.

"You guys aren't asleep; it's late," I said, feigning annoyance, but deep down, I was so happy to see them. Work has been hectic, and it didn't let me spend time with them. I had to hide my kids from the world, not because I was ashamed but because I was trying to protect them.

Life in Country X hasn't been easy, with the struggles and the hard times.

There were days when I just wanted to give up, but one look at my babies was enough to keep me going. Mason blushed in guilt, hiding behind Maya the blabbermouth. "It's not their fault, Hazel; I told them about you coming back; it was a slip of the tongue, and besides, they missed you," Peculiar said, coming out of the kitchen to defend them.

"We are sorry, Mummy," both of t

Hazel's POVThe night was still young, but the ache in my heart was growing. Somehow I wish everything would just pause... I had just finished crying, and I couldn't sleep. I decided to go out for a run somewhere in the midst of the woods.Coming out, I saw Kierra asleep in the parlor. I picked up a blanket and covered her body. I wanted to check up on Peculiar, but I had no strength to listen to what she had to say, even if it were words of assurance.I slid a hoodie down my body before getting out of the house. Some miles away there is a path that leads to a forest. Once I had gotten there, I looked around searching for an uncommon scent, and when I was sure the coast was clear. I shifted to my wolf form and started running.I ran for an hour... Though I wished to do more than that, there are some sloppy humans that like to snoop around, and if they get a whiff of a shifter here, they might do damage to the whole werewolf community. We shifters have been living in the city low-key w

Liam's POV I was supposed to meet Peculiar, Hazel's manager, when Tate showed me an article about Hazel. As if that was not enough, the next slide showed how they gathered around her, attacking her with words. My fury knew no bounds as I saw the struggle in her eyes... I banged my hands on the table. Now I realised the reason why Peculiar was late. She had gone to rescue Hazel. I stood up, ready to go to where she was, when Tate stopped me."I do not think this is the right moment for you to step in," he said, and I glared at him. Before I took another step, Dominic strode in, and I rolled my eyes."If you are here to stop me, then I'm sorry to say that won't work," I said harshly while he flashed a smirk my way."I expected you to at least have common sense, Liam! The news is still hot, and now you want to add another problem for her. Do you know what the next article is going to be? Do you want to ruin her image more?" He said it in a calm tone, but then his words were visualised

Peculiar's POVI had lied to Hazel when I told her I wanted to stay over at Kierra's place. The truth was I received a message from Liam Brooks stating he wanted to speak with me. I made up my mind to go secretly because I knew Hazel would not approve of it.I told her I wouldn't take her to the company because I would not be available, which was true.I wish I didn't!If I were with her at home, I would have seen the news and stopped her from going. I was on my way to meet with Mr. Brooks when Zeke called me. He asked me to check my phone, and when I did, my jaw dropped, and the news fabricated by one single person caused this mess. My phone was bubbling with messages. I had no idea. It hadn't been up to a day, but brands have been cutting her off.I had time to turn around, not bothering to message Liam about me no longer coming to his place; I already had an inkling he had seen the news. I did not have time to think about whether he believed the article or not. My friend needed me

Hazel's POVGetting off my bed, it looked like I got out of the wrong bed. My mood was odd, and I felt cranky. I tried to push negative thoughts out of my head as I headed to the bathroom.I was alone at home since Peculiar stayed with the children and Kierra yesterday. Once I was done having my bath, I wore the clothes I kept on the bed and headed out.I turned on the ignition, vibing to some music as I drove. As soon as I got to my destination, my brows furrowed at how crowded the reporters were. I wonder what had happened?I parked my car and then turned off the ignition. It hadn't been a second when I got down from my car when those reporters rushed to my side.It was so fast that I couldn't even move a muscle… The way the camera flashed through my eyes, the clicking sounds and all of them talking at the same time caused anxiety to kick in.My heart drummed so hard in my chest that I felt it would jump out. My breathing became unstable... it was too hard to inhale and exhale after

Lucy's POVI tried to conceal the anger boiling within me; seeing Zeke and Hazel talking like they've known each other for years irked me to the core. "Nice job there, Hazel!" He praised her, and I rolled my eyes. Lately, everyone has been treating her so nicely, and they rarely gave me attention, which was aggravating.I closed my eyes and walked out to take a deep breath, but I was stopped by Natalie, the one senior actress who still supported me."What's wrong, Lucy? You do not look good," she asked, concern written all over her face. I bent my head, pretending to look more sad and depressed, seeing that I am almost having a breakdown. Natalie held my arms and dragged me to a quiet place."Tell me, Lucy, what's going on?" She queried, and I sniffled."It's Hazel," I sighed, and then her sharp-toed pumps came in, ready to defend me."What did she do this time?" Natalie snarled."Honestly, I have tried to be her friend, but all she does in return is send snarky remarks my way. As if

HazelI dragged Peculiar from the parlor and led her to my room. If I said I was embarrassed, then that was an understatement because it's obvious Peculiar was ready to dig everything out that moment, and she won't stop till she gets everything she wants.I locked the door behind me before turning to stare at Peculiar, who had a questioning look on. "Is there anything you are not telling me?" She folded her hands across her chest, and I sighed.I wasn't ready to tell her about my past. Liam isn't supposed to show up. "We've met before," I responded, but Peculiar didn't say anything. She waited for me to continue speaking, but there was nothing else I could say, "And... I'm sure that's not where the story ends, especially seeing him in a robe." She probed, and I closed my eyes."Arrgh! Okay, fine, he's wooing me, and I don't want to accept it because of my kids. He just became more persistent lately. But that's it, nothing serious. He helped me get home safely; his clothes were drenche
