The receptionist's face drained of color. She stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence.

Jason frowned and asked her, "What exactly did you say?"

"Pull the surveillance footage," I said. "I'll wait. If I don't get an explanation today, I might just report how arrogant Grant Corporation's receptionist is. Is that what your corporate culture stands for?"

Jason didn't waste a single second. He ordered security to retrieve the footage immediately.

The receptionist panicked. She hurried to explain, "Mr. Stone, I was just speaking up for Ms. Beech. I—"

Before she could finish speaking, Jason cut her off. "Since when do you have the right to comment on Mr. Grant's affairs? Starting tomorrow, don't bother coming back. Settle your pay with the finance department."

She tried to plead, but Jason ignored her and turned to me respectfully. "Please follow me."
