Renee reclined against her seat and pulled up her eye mask to sleep.

No one bothered her through her flight, and she was listening to a calming tune, but her mind was a mess, and she couldn't calm down.

After all, it wasn't a trip to Bonad—she came with a mission.

Nonetheless, her flight arrived at Bonad Airport in four hours.

It would be the perfect tourist spot as the region seemed to exist in an eternal spring, but rarely any tourists came as it was a lawless, godforsaken place.

When Renee's flight landed, she switched on her phone and saw that she had a missed call from Tom.

Renee called him to tell him that she had safely landed, but Tom remained worried. "I've sent someone over to pick you up."

"Give me their number—I'll call them," she replied as she headed out the airport.

"No, you'll see him when you step out," Tom replied, keeping her in the dark.

Renee didn't press the issue and hung up.
