I sat close to the window in my apartment, staring at the view of the small rose garden, a smirk playing on my lips and satisfying look sat on my face. This was it. Everything I had planned was going my way.

I lit the large cigar in my hand, puffed it, and blew the smoke out slowly, watching as it floated lazily through the air.

“Juliet Ryder,” I scoffed, remembering the look on her face the day she thought she had successfully put me behind bars. The memory made my jaw tighten. My fingers clenched into a fist as the urge to smash the glass window in front of me surged, but I held myself back.

Not now. The time would come, and no one would be able to stop me.

The door creaked open behind me, but I didn’t turn. I already knew who it was. My insider, the one who had solely offer to work alongside with me and she was here with the information I needed for my next move.
