•Edward's POV•

I tapped my finger on the steering wheel as I drove down the road, my mind drifting to the strange number that had called me. It couldn’t be Josh. I had told Juliet that just to stop her from asking more questions about it.

Something definitely wasn’t right, and I didn’t recall giving anyone my number. I picked up my phone and stared at the number once more before dropping it back.

The curiosity of finding out who the number was from filled my thoughts as I pulled into the company parking lot. I got out of the car and made my way toward the entrance. The door slid open, and I walked in, then took the elevator.

The moment I got to the top floor and into Juliet’s office, it hit me, it could be Leyi. But how did she get my number? No one else had it except Juliet and Vera. The thought clawed at me until I decided to brush it off and focus on work.

I picked up the file from the table and skimmed through it, standing close to the desk. I flipped the pages and saw that it wou

I’m really disappointed that Juliet and Edward aren’t getting a good forever right now. Let them be a couple before you introduce somebody else into the story. I’m done reading this until this part is over. I think it’s a bad move on the authors part.

•Juliet POV•I scribbled my signature on the file in front of me before placing it with the rest I had already signed. Looking toward Edward, I saw him sitting on the couch, focused on his phone. He looked up the moment he noticed I was staring and smiled. “Are you done with that?”I nodded with a soft smile, and he stood up, walking over to me. “I’ve been waiting for you to be done so I can take you out for lunch.”“That sounds nice,” I chuckled, blushing softly as he reached for my hand. He intertwined his fingers with mine, and we walked out of the office together toward the elevator. When we reached the last floor, just before the exit, we came across Vera coming out of the designer’s office. Her eyes lit up slightly when she saw us.“Hey,” she greeted, adjusting the files in her arms. “Where are you two headed?”Edward smiled. “I'm taking her out for lunch.”Vera grinned knowingly. “Gosh so romantic, enjoy yourselves."I smiled warmly at her. “Thanks, Vera. Don’t work too hard wh

•Juliet POV•"Mommy, Daddy, are you still sleeping?" Jace's voice came through and I opened my eyes to see him sitting between us on the bed. His eyes widened the moment they met mine, and I smiled as I turned to pull him close."Baby, my personal alarm clock," I said with a warm smile.Edward had been sleeping, stirred at the sound of our voices. He turned toward us, a sleepy grin playing on his lips.I cuddled Jace to my chest as he let out a small giggle, then stretched his arms out toward Edward."Daddy, you're awake!" Jace said, crawling across the bed to lay on top of him."Yes, my prince charming. And thank you for waking me m up," Edward mumbled, wrapping his arms around Jace as he rested his head on his chest.I stood from the bed, stretching with my arms above my head, inhaling the sweet scent of the morning. It had been a long time since I'd felt this peaceful. Things were finally falling into place, and I could breathe without pain tightening my chest.I walked into the ba

•Juliet POV•I took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly as I moved the cursor to the power off section and clicked on it, watching the screen dim and finally turn black. The soft sound of the door creaking open caught my attention. I looked up to see Vera walk in, her expression saying more than words could. She sat on the chair opposite me with a soft sigh, brushing her hand through her hair like she needed to ease off something heavy."Are you okay?" I asked gently. She leaned back against the chair and gave me a small, thin-lipped smile. "Yeah, I'm fine, Jules," she replied in a low voice. "I just feel so bad whenever I remember what happened in London. It hits right through my chest."I lowered my gaze, feeling the weight of her words. "I understand," I said quietly. "But don't think about it too much. I've already contacted Eric to look into it, and with his influence, I'm sure he’ll come back with something productive.""Even if he finds out who's responsible," Vera whispered, "

•Edward POV•The blaring sound of my phone distracted me from talking to Vera, and she signaled that she's leaving before walking away. I picked up the call, putting the phone to my ear. "Hello bro," Josh's voice came through, tired and grumbling. "How’s China, Juliet and Jace?""They're fine, and China is a great place to be," I replied, pretending not to know the real reason he called."Okay," he mumbled. "I just wanted to know when you're coming back to New York. Cause you know I can't keep doing all this bossy work for you. I don't even have time to watch TV.""You can watch TV after work, Josh. Stop complaining. If you don't know how to handle a company now, how will you do it in the future?" I said, walking down the hallway, my gaze drifting to the artistic Chinese pictures on the wall. The sleek patterns looked much more appealing in person, each brushstroke delicate, almost alive.Josh sighed loudly through the phone. "I never said I want to have a company in the future. TV a

•Juliet POV•After Shuyi took Vera upstairs to show her the room meant for her, I called Eric and told him about the incident. He promised to look into it. With a sigh, I snapped the phone shut and rested my hand on the glass surface, staring at the view of the estate with my arm wrapped over my shoulder.China had its own aura, and I could only hope that it things doesn't turn out bad for me. I closed my eyes, letting the cool air brush against my face, calming my racing thoughts."Mommy, I can't find Mrs. Carl in the kitchen," Jace's voice pulled me out of the moment. I turned and saw him standing by the door, his little eyebrows furrowed in confusion.I smiled and walked to meet him. "Baby, Mrs. Carl didn't come along with us to China. She's in New York."Jace pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. "Why, Mommy? Who's going to prepare breakfast now and tell me funny stories?"I lifted him from the floor and walked over to sit on the plush chair by the corner. "I'm so sorry, my lo
