Cara's POV
Sally showed me to my room, she said that it was McKenzie's room before she left for Babcock city. I freshened up and dressed in my favorite dress, a maroon off shoulder dress, I could smell the chicken curry she was cooking, I could tell it was definitely going to be good. I was about to go help set the table when I suddenly remembered that I had to call McKenzie.I picked up my phone and dialled her number, it rang twice before she picked."Hey coconut head, I told you to call but you didn't, so I thought your plane crashed or something. I was already about to call Mom," McKenzie sounded disappointed and I smiled, at least someone still cared about me."I forgot...""How can you forget? it is like the most simplest thing to do," Kenzie said frustrated."Okay, I am sorry for not calling you," I apologized, I could feel her temper calming. "You making me feel bad for screaming at a pregnant woman," she sighed and burst out laughing."How's him?""Him?""Damien, you know," I whispered softly and Kenzie sighed. You will never forget him, won't you," Kenzie's voice lowered and I shrugged. Maybe, some day," I said, the pain in my heart growing and it felt as if a lump was stuck in my throat. I struggled to push down the threatening tears."I love him Kenzie....""And he is not worth it, the day he chose to believe outsiders over you was the day he lost your love, I know it's hard but forget him and move on, don't forget you have your baby and me to keep you company," Kenzie said and tears rushed out of my eyes."Are you crying?""Yeah, pregnancy hormones," I said. She consoled me and we said our goodbyes.Sally called me and went down to answer her. “You were talking with McKenzie, weren't you?" Sally asked me, she always seem to know everything. “Yes," I replied. “Mk doesn't call us anymore, she just..." Sally sighed sadly. “Maybe she just needs time," I comforted her. “Or is she ashamed of us?" Sally suddenly asked catching me off guard. “No don't say that," I said quickly. She sighed again and smiled softly.Vivian POVFinally the threat is gone, I smiled and came online, the internet was blasting with the hot news.“Damien should be home alone or at work, I should go console him”. I thought to myself.I smirked and went to freshen up, putting on a short V-lined white Louise Vuitton lotus dress which was backless and sleek black Gucci heels, I put on my expensive seduction perfume and did my make up to look sexy. “He won't be able to resist me," I chuckled and walked out of my room."Are you going out Vivian?," Mother asked as I bumped into her. I rolled my eyes inwardly at the obvious answer. “Yes, obviously," I sassily rolled eyed her and a frown etched on her face. “If you go out now the paparazzi will attack you," mother scolded but I brushed her off. “Oh please, I am not Cara, I am not the one who sent her to another man's bed, so I won't let her scandal keep me locked up."“How dare you talk to your sister like that!" Mother shouted at me. “Oh don't teach me about respect, she is not worth it," I hissed and walked away. On the way, I met dad in the garden and immediately diverted to another way.No one is gonna get in the way of my plan.I succeeded in by-passing him, I got into my white Ferrari and drove off. Few minutes later, I got to his company. “Where is your boss?" I questioned sassily at his secretary. “Do you have an appointment?" The lady asked and I scoffed.“Do I have to get an appointment before seeing my man? I bet cara didn't have to get any appointments before she could meet him”.This infuriated me."I asked a question, bitch?" I stared at her intimidatingly and she rubbed her palms together. “He is not around today, I am afraid you'd have to come tomorrow," she answered refusing to look me in the eyes. I smirked on how I loved having this kind of effect on people.I picked up my Coco Chanel bag and sashayed away to my car. I got in and drove straight to his mansion. “Who are you?" The automated female voice system asked. “I am Vivian, Cara's sister," I said and waited awhile before the gate buzzed and opened. I drove in and parked my car in the garage.I went up to the door and wanted to knock but it opened by itself."Welcome Miss Vivian," the voice said.Soon this would be all mine when I become the new Mrs Zoric. My lips widened into a Cheshire grin as I surveyed the entire house. Jealousy steeped into me as I imagined the luxury Cara enjoyed as his wife and mistress of the house. Bitterness grew in her heart as I imagined everyone calling her Mrs Zoric or madam or boss lady, titles I craved for."Why are you here?" The deep sleek baritone voice that did things to my body spoke, I turned to where the sound came from and I saw him standing at the top of the glass staircase, he slowly came down. I shamelessly ogled his perfectly fit body."Uh?" I said absentmindedly still staring at his six foot four height, he was dressed in a black dress shirt and black dress pants looking all hot and devilishly sexy with his golden blonde hair and forest green eyes."Why are you here?" The impatient tone in his voice brought me out my reverie. “I heard what happened and I came to apologise on behalf of my sister," I hid the bitterness in my tone as I mentioned Cara. He remained expressionless after mentioned Cara. This is not what I was expecting."No need for that, I am fine," he said slowly and walked to the kitchen. "What can I get you?"“You," I drooly whispered softly and turned abruptly."What?""I..I mean...um..juice, orange juice," I stuttered trying to seem unsuspicious, he muttered something and went into the kitchen while I sat down on the sofa, my phone rang."Hello?""How are you doing Vivian? Enjoying your life?" He asked and I stiffened immediately. After the set up, I told him never to contact me again, what does he want now?"Why are you contacting me? I thought we are through with the deal," I whispered quietly so that Damien wouldn't hear. “Since Cara is not with me, the deal is on," he declared which infuriated me instantly."What makes you think I know where she is?""I don't know, you tell me, after all you are still in Babcock city and I'm not," he sneered and I flared up. “I don't know okay, we got our own part of the deal," I whispered harshly. “If I find out that you went behind my back, I'm gonna drag you down to hell with me," he laughed and hung up."What deal?" I heard a deep voice behind me.Everyone disembarked from the cruise yacht, heading toward their waiting cars. The two-day event had come to an end, as crowd of luxurious men and women chatted and moved, Vivian paused, occasionally glancing around searching. Beside a sleek black Maybach stood a brooding man, his dark aura making people instinctively avoid him. Damien's dark, brooding gaze darted through the crowd searching until it locked on a certain figure he was searching for. Cara felt a heated gaze on her, she instinctively look up meeting Damien's eyes. She looked away instantly, pretending to pass by without noticing him but he was faster. Damien caught her wrist just as she walked past him. "Allow me to give you a ride home Miss Perry." His tone leaving no room for refusal. Coco, who had earlier been walking with her boss, turned when she realized Cara was no longer beside her. Spotting her boss with Damien, she hurried over. "Excuse me Mr Zoric, but we already have our ride waiting for us," Coco inte
A stream of sunlight fell across her face tugging her out of her sleep. Cara groaned softly, blinking against the bright light until her eyes adjusted....and froze. The heavy weight of an arm lay draped across her waist, warm breath brushed her shoulder and behind her was the steady rise and fall of a man's chest. she stiffened, her heart thudding.Cara's gaze darted around the room. Her breath caught when she saw the careless scatter of clothes on the floor, her dress, his shirt, buttons glinting in the morning sun. Slowly and carefully, she eased out of bed, but as soon as she stood, a wave of sourness washed over her and her knees buckled. Cara caught herself with a hiss of pain, she hadn't felt this ache in years. Not since before the divorce.....and that night."Jeez," she hissed in pain. Before the divorce, the two of them never got intimate until the night of Damien's drunkenness. Cara still vividly remembered how he looked that night. Her mind reeled back three years.---Thre
Cara stumbled out of the room into the hallway, her gaze hazy, the burning sensation in her body elevated. In as much as she desperately needed to quench the fire she felt under her skin, she also needed a place to hide cause right now she was venerable and could be made an easy target to lust-filled men. She heard the sound of footsteps coming towards her and darted into a hidden corner, two men walked past chatting without noticing anything. Cara let out a sigh of relief before making her way down the hallway to her room. Damien had just stepped out of the party, he stared at his phone again. Two missed calls, she wasn't answering her phone, a bad feeling washed over him. In the slightly dim lit hallway, he could make out the figure of a woman stumbling his way, something about her figure felt familiar. He started to walk past the woman when she suddenly collapsed in his arms. "Please help me, I am hot," the woman breathed. Damien took out his phone, about to call his assistant
Tyler darted through the crowd, greeting one business partner or another while discreetly watching her movement. The MC of the occasion took the microphone and greeted everyone ensuring to call out names. Thirty minutes of wine and pleasure passed and it was finally time for the dance, the MC turned on the music and everyone went to the dance floor. "Would you do me the honor of being my dance partner Miss Perry?" A man asked, stretching out his hand to Cara. Cara looked up, her eyes meeting the stranger’s. He was handsome, with sharp features and a confident smirk, but before she could respond, a familiar voice cut in. "I'm afraid Miss Perry is already taken on this one." Tyler stepped forward, smoothly placing his hand over the man’s outstretched one. His expression was polite, a smirk etched on his lips. The other man hesitated, his gaze shifting between the two of them before he gave a small, knowing smile and backed away. Tyler turned to Cara, offering his hand
It was time for the evening dinner party. Corella barged into the room to deliver a message."Boss, Mr Locus wants to see you." Cara was seated at the dressing table getting ready for the dinner party hosted by Locus to mark the end of the ship cruise."For what?" She expressionlessly applied the deep red lipstick on her lips. Coco picked up the silver slit dress, fingering it."It is a gift from my friend, Mckenzie." After getting ready, Cara went to meet Herod. She knocked at the door before going in. The old man seated at the center of the room in his private bar, sipping coffee."Weird seeing you drink coffee in a bar," Cara gasped amused. Herod Locus, the famous alcoholic emperor was drinking coffee in a bar! Nobody would believe her if she said it outside."Don't look surprised, I'm just doing it to please my wife and besides, I am getting old and weak," He looked away sipping the coffee melancholically."The famous Herod Locus admitting his aging health, I am honoured to be t
On the last day of the yacht trip, various activities were carried out. Some of the socialites engaged in a shooting game, some in gambling, some in food tasting while others gallivanted around either seeking new business partners or financial supporters.Cara wandered into the casino, everywhere bustling with energy. Everyone was either gambling on the slot machines, the spin 'n' win boards or on the gambling tables. A sharp sound rang throughout the casino, someone had just won! A man paraded, holding a huge cheque board. He had just won a whooping sum of hundred million dollars, an awful lot of women surrounded him in the twinkle of an eye.Cara averted her gaze and continued strolling around looking for something that would catch her eye."That's Shera Perry, the CEO of Black lake groups right?" One woman pointed, calling to the attention of her two other counterparts."She is! I heard that Mr Zoric is chasing after her, oh I am so jealous!" The second woman chimed with envy. Th
