The private jet hangar looked like something out of a movie. All glass and steel, with planes that probably cost more than most people's houses lined up like expensive cars in a showroom. I followed Alex through the entrance, still not entirely sure how I'd ended up agreeing to this.

Marcus was waiting for us near the gate, checking something on his tablet. He looked up when we approached, nodding at Alex.

"Flight plan's filed," Marcus said, not bothering with pleasantries. "Weather's clear to Milan, should be smooth. Landing at Malpensa around seven their time."

"Good." Alex shifted his carry-on bag to his other shoulder. "Any updates on the meeting tomorrow?"

"Moved to ten instead of nine. Traffic issues." Marcus scrolled through his tablet. "I sent the contracts to legal like you asked. The fabric supplier wants to renegotiate their exclusivity clause, and the Milan office thinks the timeline's too aggressive."

"Of course they do." Alex rubbed his forehead. "What about the prod

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   Dear Troy.

TroyI woke up to the smell of her perfume. It hit me before I even opened my eyes. Something floral and cloying. For a split second, in that hazy space between sleep and consciousness, I thought she was still here. Still alive, still sprawled across my couch with that attitude of hers. Then reality crashed back.I opened my eyes and found myself staring at the ceiling of my living room. The same ceiling I'd been staring at when the paramedics had carried her body out yesterday. When the police had asked their questions. When the crime scene tape had finally come down.I was lying on the couch. The same fucking couch where Fiona had died."Jesus Christ," I muttered, pushing myself upright. My neck was stiff, and there was a throw pillow stuck to my cheek from where I'd been drooling in my sleep. How long had I been out?The last thing I remembered was standing in my bedroom, grabbing clothes to take back to Olivia's place. I'd been staring at the couch, replaying every moment from tha

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   On the Balcony

AlexThe key card beeped and I pushed into the hotel room, already calling her name. "Maya?"Nothing. The room was empty, but not empty—her presence was still there in the rumpled bedsheets, the tea cup on the nightstand, her shoes kicked off by the bathroom door. Wind moved through the space, and I followed it to the source. The balcony doors were wide open.I found her leaning against the railing, completely still. Not moving, not fidgeting, just standing there with her forearms resting on the metal barrier like she'd been carved from stone. The city spread out below us, all glittering lights and distant traffic sounds, but Maya wasn't really looking at any of it. She was looking through it.I stood in the doorway for

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   Late Night Visit

AlexThe elevator in Sarah's building was one of those old European ones with the metal cage doors that rattled as it climbed. I'd been trying her phone since we landed, but every call went straight to voicemail. Knowing Sarah, she'd probably turned it off hours ago and was fast asleep. The hallway on her floor was dimly lit, with those motion sensor lights that barely worked. I found her door and knocked, soft at first, then louder when there was no response.Nothing.I knocked again, harder this time. "Sarah?"After what felt like forever, I heard movement inside. Footsteps, then the sound of multiple locks being undone. The door opened just wide enough for Sarah's face to appear, squinting at me like I was some kind of hallucination."What the fuck?" Her voice was thick with sleep, her usually perfect hair sticking up at odd angles. She was wearing an oversized t-shirt that hung off one shoulder and looked like she'd been asleep for hours. "Alex?""Yeah, it's me.""What are you—" Sh

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   What He Doesn't Say

AlexThe hotel room was everything you'd expect from a five-star Milan property. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city, marble bathroom, king-size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets. The kind of place that normally impressed clients or made dates feel special.Maya walked in ahead of me and immediately collapsed backward onto the bed, her arms spread wide. She looked small against all that expensive bedding, like she was trying to disappear into it.I set my bag down by the dresser and walked over to where she was lying. She had her eyes closed, her breathing slow and deliberate."You must be really tired," I said. She nodded without opening her eyes, then turned onto her side, facing away from me. Her knees came up slightly, making herself smaller.Looking at her now, everything felt different. An hour ago I'd been thinking about her as someone who was using me, someone who'd run away from her problems. Now that I knew what the issue was, I couldn't see her the same way.I couldn

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   What He Didn't Know

AlexI opened my eyes, vision blurry from sleep, and the first thing I saw was Marcus standing near the foot of the bed with that stupid grin on his face. The same grin I'd told Maya about hours ago.My brain took a second to catch up. We were on the plane. Milan. Right.I turned my head immediately to check on Maya. She was covered, thank god, the sheet pulled up to her shoulders. Her dark hair was spread across the pillow and she looked completely peaceful. I remembered us taking a bath after the sex, both of us barely able to stand under the hot water. Then we'd collapsed back into bed and Maya had fallen asleep almost immediately. That was different. Usually we would have gone multiple rounds before calling it quits. But Maya had been out like a light the moment her head hit the pillow. S

  • Divorced My CEO Husband, He Came Begging   Undressed

MayaAlex stood in the bathroom doorway, still fully clothed, watching me with an expression I couldn't quite read. The bathroom was all marble and gold fixtures, with lighting that was probably designed to be flattering but felt harsh right now.I reached for the hem of my shirt and pulled it over my head, dropping it on the marble floor. The cool air hit my skin immediately. Alex didn't look away. His eyes followed the movement of my hands as I reached behind my back to unhook my bra. The clasp gave way easily and I let the straps slide down my arms, the fabric falling to join my shirt on the floor. My breasts were exposed now, nipples already responding to the temperature change and his gaze.I pushed my jeans down my legs, bending to work them over my ankles. When I straightened up, I hoo
